This is an insult to us as Africans for them to assume that our opinion about homosexuality is influenced by evangelicals, are we not capable of using our own minds to conclude that homosexuality is abnormal
It was never abnormal for Africans, africans had very relaxed attitude towards sexuality and there was a culture of openness and people minded their own business. Sex was viewed as pleasure. People lived more according to nature. Mostly half nake, like in Eden. Someone told them to put on the clothes as this is primitive.
@@olivka7560 If you have any African friends that know their local language, ask them what a gay man is called in their local language. Then, ask them for the direct translation of that word. You will quickly realise how disgusted Africans have always been by homosexuality. Also, African societies have always been community oriented. Which is why you here phrases like; "It takes a village to raise a child"(This is an African proverb if you didn't know). So how can you say that a community that labels gay men with terms that express disgust had a relaxed attitude towards the sexual acts of these same people. When you talk about Africans minding their own business, that is how I know you haven't been in an African family setting before. Trump created a pact that had most countries that previously had the death penalty for homosexuality outlawed, which is a DIRECT contradiction to the title of this video. The former US president made several countries (many of them Islamic) ban the death penalty as well as capital punishment (like lashes or other forms of torture) for homosexuality. As a result of this pact created by Trump, some of these countries also decriminalised homosexuality, or at least banned the imprisonment of homosexuals for the crime of their sexuality. Trump did this in exchange for very favourable trade deals (otherwise they would never have been tempted to accept such a deal because either their strict Islamic or strict Christian beliefs make them immensely homophobic). You can see Trump being given the pride rainbow flag as a thank you for this by people in the LGBTQ community, and he waves it with a smile. That wasn’t an issue until outside influences made it an issue. As was stated before, why push Africa into this when you have Sedan and other countries against homosexuality? It shows the wickedness at play.
Anyone that was raised by African parents and is part of an African family knows that is far from the truth. This individuality mindset is a modern concept(And we all know where "modernity" comes from). In conclusion, if you want to understand the attitude that a culture has towards a topic, find out how they refer to it in their local language. In most African tribes, a gay man is referred to as a weak man, a mad man, or even an outcast. So how can you say that is a relaxed attitude towards homosexuality. How can you call that openness. Instead of respecting our cultures and norms, you people have now resorted to dictating and altering what our cultures were and weren't open to. In other words, rewriting our history to be in a way that soothes your minds. Let me simplify this:
If a muslim says he doesn't eat pork, respect that fact and understand that that is the norm of that religion/culture.

An opportunity to test colonial boundaries.
I keep hearing the western government needs to put pressure on African countries, are we living in the colonial era? Is Africa truly independent beyond external control? If not, let us know so we can shade our very last drop of blood to defend her sovereignty if need be. I most admit we have challenges that we Africans need to sit amongst ourselves and find a solution that can be acceptable as a just one for both parties but to disregard her sovereignty and whip her into submission is unacceptable. Given our history with the west, we have every right to cross examine anything that comes from the west and to Pepe Enzima you need to know that Africa is not a subordinate to the western world with you talking that way will even turn sympathizers against your struggles
Is Africa truly independent beyond external control - No, you have requested aid and received it with some conditions. This is how external politics works. If you want to do "whatever you like" you cannot ask for help with infrastructure, health, trade or other forms or aid or collaboration. This will lead to isolation and then Uganda will become like North Korea. You can do what you like, but so can other countries.
oh yeah they can not possibly think for them selves it has to be the US conservatives LoL
I support uganda!
How can a segment called "Democracy now" criticise sovereignty and democratically passed laws in a different country 🤔
Well done Uganda. Thanks for the lead. We'll follow.
THIS IS WHAT RELIGION DOES, BRAIN WASH PEOPLE 😬FASCISM AT IT’S FINEST 😲🙀😳💔
LMAO
just like the LGBTQ cult.
Bring pastor ssempa as well to balance the narrative
Why can't US and Europe give them asylum if their lives are in danger?
Enough of this discussion, Uganda is a sovereign state with a legislative arm of government called parliament mandated by Ugandans to pass laws. Is this what democracy is all about?
This is BS. No, Africa doesn’t just follow whatever Americans say. There is a huge anti gay culture in both the Middle East and Africa. It’s the exact opposite actually, the US is trying to export a pro-gay agenda as they’re doing in the rest of the world but what people prefer in other countries is none of their business.
Why is the USA not taking action against Saudi Arabia yet want to bully Uganda, the people have decided that for them homosexuality is a crime. Why is it hard to accept that an independent African has decided to take such a step for the best of it's people.
So US evangelicals exported and seeded homophobia and promoted denial of human rights to Uganda. Let that sink in!
I wonder who bankrolls Scott Lively Abiding Truth Ministries? He was sued by the Center for Constitutional Rights.
I hope Pepe and the gentle Ugandan people receive the peace and protection they deserve ❤💜💙🌷
I was wondering when someone was going to point out the role of the evangelical church. They pushed this narrative in Uganda several years ago to get it where it is today! Now, america wants to make Uganda pay? America needs to stay focus on america, not other people countries and laws. If america was serious than they would speak out agaisnt the Saudi's, Oman, UAE and others who have upheld the death penalty for the LGBTQ for years. But america wants to pick on Africa instead!
That is exactly my thought Christianity is one hundred percent responsible for the current hatred targeting this community in Uganda. Religions bred fear and hatred
I have been saying this for years. I have neighbors who go on these “mission trips” using fundraising to take vacations and make themselves feel like good people who then create this shit because so many people aren’t buying hate = god anymore in the USA.
So you admit that your country meddles in other countries affairs 😂😂 well done shooting yourself on the foot
So you people actually think that the so called evangelicals turned 99% of Ugandans against the LGBTQ culture. These evangelicals that you talk about are not even enough to mobilise the whole of Kampala(Uganda's capital), let alone the whole country. It never crossed your minds that maybe homosexuality is a norm that all the different cultures in Uganda have always had a hostility towards. 20 million usd !!! Is that an amount that you think can make a whole nation forget their cultures and norms. Do you really think Uganda is that poor😂. As a matter of fact, more than 100m usd has been spent by the US organisations to spread the homosexuality agenda in the country, and yet for some reason the 20m usd has more influence !!?😂...Please make this make sense......In conclusion, the evangelicals are insignificant. SO will you say that these evangelicals went to the Arab the countries with 20 million and funded the stricter anti homosexuality laws there as well?? This hypocrisy is laughable .....when it comes to the Arabs, you people are more than willing to respect their culture, but when it comes to the Ugandans, "nooo, it cant be their need to protect and preserve culture, it has to be the measly 20m usd and the insignificant mobilisation done by the evangelicals who have never been seen in most parts of the country".......Hypocrites
We don't entertain immorality in Africa
You have way more murder than any first country on the planet.
Every African country should follow suit. Protect our children. Protect our culture.
Wait till you find out that homosexuality was accepted in ancient African culture

Abbott and Desantis are watching eagerly.
Apparently this has the full backing of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church which is no surprise. That's a perfect display of Christian love
There are many in the SDA church who think it's wrong to persecute others over their religious beliefs or sexual behavior. Maybe a faction or fraction of Seventh-day Adventist support this persecution of gay people but they do not represent all Seventh-day Adventist church members.
@Warrin Bang any members that hold their tongues and don't call the garbage out are just as guilty if not more so. Steel is supposed to sharpen steel .
@@warrinbang1191of course the congregation is going to have a different belief from the actual leaders who call that shots. The church as whole is a business and only concerned about there own survival as an institution.
Homosexuality is wrong. Point blank period. You cannot practice that lifestyle and claim to be a Christian. Wrong is wrong. I do not agree with the death penalty but that lifestyle should not be promoted.
@@SoupBone-bp1qk I agree. The Word of God clearly says that it wrong. I would never promote it. Neither do I persecute anyone for their choice of lifestyle. We are told to let the wheat and tares grow together until the harvest.
This law is crazy good
Fear God not Western leaders for they're nothing in the eyes of God.
If they are upto human rights let them go and stop the war in Ukraine 🇺🇦.
Trump created a pact that had most countries that previously had the death penalty for homosexuality outlawed, which
is a DIRECT contradiction to the title of this video.
Trump did this in exchange for very favourable trade deals (otherwise they would never have been tempted to accept
such a deal because either their strict Islamic or strict Christian beliefs make them immensely homophobic).
You can see Trump being given the pride rainbow flag as a thank you for this by people in the LGBTQ community, and he waves it with a smile.
I don't agree with the agenda, but LBBTQ people absolutely have the right to exist and to live just as anyone else does.
I just don't agree with the indoctrination of children into this ideology, and I STRONGLY oppose drag queen and transgender strippers for children as well as puberty blockers and irreversible transgender surgery for underage people.
I also STRONGLY disagree with changing paedophiles to MAPS (Minor Attracted People), and for having them accepted into the LGBTQ community. It is disgusting and evil beyond belief, and should never be accepted anywhere.
Since you're halfway there let me just assure you: Homosexuality is not an "ideology". Millions of us were and continue to be born in the most rural, religious and "straight" places of the world. You can't make anybody gay, and even if you completely prevent your child from ever learning or hearing anything about the issue they still just might turn out to be gay. If you're worried about pedophilia as we all should be I recommend keeping a keen eye on the churches, youth groups and YOUR OWN IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS where the overwhelming majority of these crimes take place.
So is we going to go after Saudi Arabia for having the same laws that’s way worse than Uganda
No, they give us lots of money, which hides a multitude of sins.
Why interfering into other countries business. Would you want Saudi to apply there law into your country?
Liberals have been "going after" Saudi Arabia the whole past century. Did you not bother to look at their critiques? The USA just 100 years ago started letting women vote, and Saudi Arabia only in the last 2 decades started allowing women to drive cars at all.
Last time I checked Saudi Arabia didn't depend on financial aid.
@@nickwidmer9044 weak argument....keep your money....am sure the evangelicals will fund more
How come Saudi Arabia putting people to death for this exact thing gets no attention.
Funny they never bring up how one can be put to death under this law. If you are found guilty of grape or inappropriate act of another or with a minor. But these so-called activists never bring this up.
Now you can see who the real evil ones are! Just watch!!
You can be killed beacuse someone claimed that you are gay.

“You are a sovereign country that has not safeguard[ed] the sovereignty of your citizens.” Indeed the letter of the law guarantees citizens individual rights but the actual practice needs work. Our democracy has been that way from the start.
