All you really need to automate it is a few pistons, comparators, 3 red sand in a hour glass and the torch that flips directions when it gets a pulse. That's pretty much the starting grounds for the automation of feeding it. :)

If you get a chance, try out the TE Vacuumulator instead. 11x11 range, teleports the items and shit+rclick with empty hand gives you filter access. The vacuum chest drags items so its a different usecase
For some reason I always default to hopperhocks from botania, they're a bit less configurable than some of the other options but they do work well. I'll be setting up my mob farm on MC Eternal today, should try using something different!
i watched a chosenarchitect video and he used the Orechild and the gravity lens to make a ore generator automation and i think it may produce mod ores too
You could do that, or you could put a book and a carrot in the crafting grid and get a book that will show you everything and how far you are off you're next heart.
I feel like you can automate most anything with thaumcraft golems, or rats (kinda the same thing) just have them yeet the food on the flower to feed it.
To automate the gastroplant do a timer that alternates between them. (A cool way to alternate is if you could find a way to make a redstone flip flop circuit.)
Dire, I know you're not planning on ending MCE any time soon, but after you finish I would love to see you playing questing mayhem, it is a long term pack, has many many quests, and is quite close to expert mode and kappa mode packs

Yes there is. (at least the last time i tried there was). I fully automated the gourmarillys with Integrated Dynamics. You can even get the Mana stored in the Plant from NBT. Then just set up a AND conditions (No/Low Mana in plant, not eating), and just set up an Inventory with at least two foods and drop anything thats different than the last eaten.
I think Direwolf20 should be allowed to use Integrated Dynamics for Botania, haha maybe cause of the last series, that was fun to watch the numbers finally be seen in that mod

Just seen someone put a fire dragon egg on lit netherack, then pick it up in an imprisonment tool, when spawned in a duplicator, if the eggs fall more than 6 blocks, they turn from a mob into an entity and you can cash them in. Money for days.

Has anyone ever tried automating the Rosa Arcana with XP orbs? I'm thinking Openblocks XP shower dropping into a 3x3 of flowers. One of the mob killers must generate liquid XP that could be pumped into an openblocks tank.
I automated them in my Enigmatice 2 Expert world. My AE system was auto-crafting XP bottles with the drops from my Mob farm (don't remember the exact details of how though), exported into a Dispenser on a Redstone clock that would throw the bottles at the flowers. I needed loads of mana coming in and this one seemed the simplest to automate for me at the time. I might add though that my mob farms are usually running from day 1 when I play modded and I'm a hoarder anyways (drawers don't get void upgrades in my game unless they are full with emeral upgrades :P), so I had way too much XP sitting round anyways, both solid and liquid.
I wonder why he doesn't just auto export all his inferium to a crafter to bring it all up to supremium automatically and just autocraft back down to whatever essence he needs. So much faster for on-demand essence crafting.
Anyone else having issues with the Quests recognizing the Mek Basic Smelting Factory? I've made 2 or 3, turned off wireless charging, but I can't get the quest to "hand in"? I could update, but last time it corrupted my save game.
Why does Dire seem allergic to reading? Or making upgrades for items like the Mana Tablet? A Mana Tablet holds half a regular mana pool of mana. Upgrading it with 4 Manasteel to a Ring of Mana not only makes it usable as a viable, but holds an entire standard mana pool's worth of mana. Doesn't lose mana in the upgrade (usually, bug in older versions did). Then can get upgraded to the Greater Band of Mana to hold even more (2 full pools I think, not sure). Stop making useless tablets! It's in the book!

Yes that was a big derp... Dire make 1 terrasteel ingot and uses it for the gateway, then 3 terrasteel ingots and uses in the helmet.....when he could/should have been done with making terrasteel and used those 4 ingots to get ALL the terrasteel -- mana free

What isn't? Botania? It's very definitely magic. Botania has flowers that eat food, a freaking elf portal you chuck things through, and everything is based on Mana, which is the universal word for the magical energy used for magic. How is this not magic?

There's always something special about a flower that noms.

Afaik, the gourmaryllis's speed or total mana production doesn't take the saturation of the food into account, just the amount of shanks the food has

Vacuumulator is my favorite, especially in the early game since it doesn't require ender pearls. I wish people would use it more often.

Remember to put mending or repair enchantments on armor that doesnt have an inherent self repair mechanic.

Also the keki or whatever(cake flower) can use Astral sorcery converted pumpkins(I think).

U should use the mob masher because with the fortune upgrades it give like 10 exp cubes per mob
