Cranemasters are famous for saving the day on derailments.
They send me a calendar every year, how lucky can 1 guy get....:-)

The mystery railroad whose locomotive has fallen on hard times and lots of muck is the Canadan National. That would be one of their SD70M-2's. Understandably, and possibly legally, Cranemasters didn't feel the need to highlight a customers' bad day and image and logo to promote their own business. A respectable thing to do. I do love Cranemasters' equipment though. That 200RS crane is a beast and that Peterbilt truck crane for September looks like a handy tool to have in the toolbox. Thanks for sharing, Dave! That is a really neat calendar.
I kinda wondered if that was a CN unit from it's color, but didn't want
to say without knowing for sure. Thanks so much for sharing that
info and for watching the Cranemasters calendar Scotty. That Pete
truck crane is one cool dude!
As a kid I had a wonderful HO guage model train layout. Mountains, trestles, trees, and houses etc. One of my prized cars was a flat bed trailer with a crane on it. The crane had a grapple for picking up logs. The grapple worked! Loads of fun!
Oh wow that had to be cool Jeff. I remember way back in the early 1960's when I got my first Lionel O gauge set I got a catalog of their products and they had a crane on a flat car, I always wanted to get that, but that year I was a bad boy I guess, cause Santa brought me a lump of coal instead of a crane on a flat car.....:-) Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings And now you are a vital link in the giving of lumps of coal...full circle of life. 🤠👍
Awesome calendar never saw these people before great video thanks Dave
Glad you enjoyed it Gary. They do some pretty tough jobs around
the country on the railroads and charge big bucks to do it too! Thank
you very much for watching the calendar show my friend.
Very cool.love Big Iron thanks.
Your very welcome and thanks so much for watching the calendar show Alan.
Nice calendar Dave!
It sure is, glad you enjoyed leafing thru the pages Wilbur. It got some pretty neat pics. Appreciate very much your stopping by to check out
the 2024 calendar my friend.
Thanks Dave! You always make great videos. Love watching! 😃👍❤️🚂
Appreciate the very kind words trainchasersatwork. Glad you enjoyed
leafing thru the calendar with me tonight. Very much appreciate your
stopping by to check it out my friend.
Some awesome machines there!!😊 Thank you for letting us see them. Smart thing you did giving each of the two co-workers a calendar!😂
Yep got some cool pics in it Trena. I need to get a degree in early
childhood to handle some of the guys at work....LOL Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Yeah March was my favorite to.
That was a pretty cool picture for sure Eddie, glad it wasn't our
loco down there in the swamp! Thanks so much my friend for
checking out the Cranemasters calendar show.
That's a really cool calendar, Dave!! Thank you very much for sharing it with us.
It sure is, lot's good pics William. My friend just sent me the new
calendar from NS so I'll have to make a video of that one too. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Nice share Dave, man they got some serious equipment, that big grapple claw around that tank car was awesome..
They get involved in some pretty tough jobs on the railroad and
need that serious equipment for sure Pappy. That grapple claw
is a Cranemasters exclusive piece of rigging. Thank you very much
for tuning in to the calendar show my friend.
Another great one Dave!
Sometimes on a Winter morning I feel like it would take Cranemasters to get me out of bed.
Thanks Michael, glad you like this one. I understand how you feel
sometimes, I've got Hulcher here on speed dial to help me some
mornings....LOL Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Oh, this was neat! Fun to see those cranes in action. I'll try to keep my engines on the track 😅...
Yep you sure don't want to have to call these guys Jennifer, they
aren't cheap.... so keep your engines on track! Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Back in 88, i traveled up the Allagash River in Maine toward Baxter State Park. Many years ago there was a railroad there for logging. There is still an old steam locomotive in the woods and it's a very popular attraction!
Kind of looks like from the picture where the loco was down in
the woods that might have been a logging operation Dave? Old
steam locos are cool to look at, if I'm ever up that way will certainly
check it out. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Are these the Eagle Lake engines? If I am not mistaken there are two of them there...:)
@@jdhinckley1954 Yes, between Eagle and Chamberlin Lakes. I have slides and photos around somewhere. It's very cool to pull up the canoes, walk into the woods and see steam locomotives!
For sure! @@davemanone3661
The March picture looks like Rockwood Maine last April CP rail
Love your log garage as an icon for your other channel particularly the switch lantern assembly on the apron. Railroads historically put out some fantastic calendars I suspect there are people that have collected them and certainly those who reproduce them for a way of making money.
Thanks Mack, glad you like it. My friend just sent me the new
calendar from NS so I'll have to make a video of that one too.
My other buddy used to be an engineer for NS and he collects them, NS used to give them to all their employees, but the last year he
worked they started charging 20 bucks apiece for them, so he
didn't get one that year. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
I worked for Tadano and actually helped build the 200RS crane that they built for Cranemaster I have pics of the frames before they put the track on. Those things are massive pictures don’t do them justice. Nice video btw
Oh wow how cool is that Alex! You are right, pics don't do them
justice. Really appreciate your taking the time to watch and
may you have a very good day my friend.
That's a very cool calendar Dave. The new equipment can clean up faster then the old locomotive cranes can. I do miss seeing them though. Saw one years ago on the Reading working. Well they are a thing of the past.I have a photo of one sitting in the Enola yard i took back about 1980.
Really glad you liked leafing thru the pages with me Michael. You
are right about doing things faster, but there is something that is
just so totally cool about an old steam crane on a flat car that
can't be beat. Appreciate very much your watching my friend.
Ive ran a scoop and a bolt machine underground and I can't name all the equipment I've ran around a strip job. Two things I never I never wanted to fool with was a drilling rig or a Crane! I've seen both nose over once or twice! That's plenty for me!
I've seen some you tube videos of cranes going over so I understand
your sentiments on that Jughead! Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Nice calendar!
It sure does have a lot of good pictures in it. Appreciate your
checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review.
Some great pics there Dave I love photos like that, showing recovery of train wrecks. I only saw a crane working in real twice, first time I was able to take a photo of them lifting a directors inspection saloon which derailed. I bet someone got a rocket for smashing their crockery up in that one, the other was a tanker train that was hauled a couple of miles derailed before one turned over a broke the air pipes, that did loads of damage to signalling cables knocked down two signals and smashed up a set of switches where it turned over.
Hope you got some videos of that tanker derailment Cedarcam! That will be cool to watch. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Sadly not Dave. I used to take a still cam to work often but my camcorder was full size VHS, and I only took that a couple of times. Not sure if I got any photos of the tanker either. When called out we were told a single wheel derailed and had cut a cable, we came over the hill looking down on the track and I said they don't bring a crane out for that, got on site what a mess, 3 tankers on their side and everything torn up, so like you some days not a lot of spare time to look around. We had a huge fire in a tunnel once and I did get some photos of tankers they dragged out after that. Some had already been cut up, the tanks had melted the heat was so intense. That fire took days to put out and was caused by a journal bearing going bad, it ceased and sheared off. Look up Summit Tunnel fire
hello Dave & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Dave Friends Randy
Thank you Randy. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Sadly such cranes are needed now and then. Great pictures!
And they are really expensive when they are needed, but big
problems require big equipment to deal with Stefan. Hope you never
get to take a drone shot of a derailment, although it would be
cool watching if you did...:-) Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings I also hope not. Hyena type fotos are not my favorites. Admiring heavy equipment at work could be interesting but it's a very slow process compared to my 30 minute flight time sessions.
Just got tips from a friend how to follow ships. Hope to record the double swing bridges opening, and maybe trains waiting.
Dave, the "Peacemaker"
Like we used to say, make love, not war Jeff. I need a degree in
early childhood education to handle some of those guys....:-)
Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Pretty sure that shot of them fishing a tank car out of the river was from the derailment in Harmar in 2022, up along the Allegheny River on the NS Conemaugh Line.
I remember that derailment squinkys, my friends from Hulcher were
there on that one, but they didn't do much in the way of rerailing that
time, mostly clean up work. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
Dave, The Cranemaster's 2024 calendar was very cool indeed. Perhaps someone at the company will see this video and send calendars for all your coworkers...📆
Pleased to hear that you enjoyed looking at it Steve. Not quite the same as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit calendar, but it will have to do
for this family friendly channel....LOL I like your idea of them sending
all of us a calendar next year! Thanks so much for watching my friend.
That was a very cool calendar Dave, nice of you to give Joe a calendar to keep peace and happiness! (Dave).
My buddy just sent me a new NS calendar, he won a photo contest
with NS and got his pic featured on one of the pages, will have to do
a video on that one too! Thanks so much for checking out the
Cranemasters calendar review Dave.
Your welcome, Very cool and looking forward to a video.@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings
👍👍👋
Thank you Mel. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
April is looks the the NS derailment on the Conemaugh Line near Harmar, PA.
Cranemasters was there according to my friend from Hulcher who
was also there. Cranemasters did most of the heavy lifting at Harmar
he said while Hulcher just did a bunch of cleanup work. Got
a new NS calendar to show you too. My friend Matt won an NS photo
contest and got his photo on one of the pages.
I should have a NS calendar waiting for me when I get back to Ohio. 🤞
I click on the two links and it just goes to your video??
I found their home page and 2023 photos with old ones listed, but no listing of where to buy one??
Those words with the hashtags aren't links to another site, they
are for you tube search engine to help with searches. I have no idea
if anyone sells these Marty, Cranemasters just sends me one
every year. Appreciate your checking out the Calendar review my friend.
so glad you shared it. love those photos. thanks brother.

With the publicity you gave them they should se s calendars for everyone. How many years of their calendars in your collection?
I like that idea Beverly! I don't collect calendars tho. My friend just sent me the new calendar from NS so I'll have to make a video of that one too. Appreciate your checking out the 2024 Cranemasters Calendar review my friend.
