Hey Jason. I have a 22 inch WSM, I have the bowl size that comes standard with the WSM. I always use the 18inch wide, heavy duty, aluminum foil to ensure I can cover entire bowl on the inside. Re: leaks, I rarely have trouble with leaks, but occasionally have some liquid seep through. Just makes sure you double over when folding the seams in my video. Also, careful how you put in the aluminum as it can tear easy if you're too aggressive. Good luck! Happy Smoking!
I use the standard width aluminum foil and always end up having to use 2 or 3 pieces overlapped to cover the bowl. There's always some leakage but I figured a little leakage is easier to clean up than an uncovered bowl (learned that the hard way). But, this technique looks much better! Does the water get up and into the seam with that? also, what size WSM is that? ive got the 18" and it has a deeper bowl.
