    • @cerealfreakonline
      @cerealfreakonline 9 місяців тому

      @@windninjasol Yes but it is inflation that's linked directly to what Thatcher did. When she deregulated things, sold off national assets, to private energy firms who were allowed to continually raise prices and profits, and then she started selling off affordable council owned houses, without replacing them, giving private landlords the opportunity to control the rental sector, all of that is what's raised inflation so much, it's part of the reason, the interest rate went to 20% in the 80s. All of it can be economically traced back to decisions like that.
      And believe me I understand, when I was about 9 my parents were looking to buy a new place, and they found a 3 storey home for £9000, when I went to buy my house in 2007, I paid £119500 for a much smaller 3 bedroomed place. So I understand the inflation because I've lived it. It's all there laid out in history how they have been slowly doing it for all of history, increasing the difference between the haves and have nots, and slowly doing things like eradication of the middle class, that's been the focus of the last 20 years, where inflation and the cost of living has risen to such a high level, it's stupid to try and survive but, that's all you can do.

      @@remembertosmile1582exactly that would ruin the whole point. Parents especially older ones act like everyone was super kind, caring, respectful and never sweared in their lives. They act like they were these wholesome angels. But in reality that was true. Their mind is slowly slipping or they remember when they were kids and young adults when things were much easier to acquire and remember life with nostalgia and ignorance they had. They think the world is burning cause what they see in media. The world has always been the same but now it’s recorded more often and posted on the internet making the world a smaller place. When are parent were growing up they were at the PEAK of crime but there was no internet or social media to share that kind of info. That’s why they said “we left our doors unlocked” I believe they did but out of pure ignorance. Ignorance is bliss. We don’t have that luxury. Also not enough money to buy an affordable house. Life isn’t about working everyday and having 2 jobs just to get the bare minimum to survive. With just one medical bill or layoff that you could be homeless and be labeled as a junkie, lazy or alcoholic.

    My parents finally understand my plight. They were looking at purchasing a duplex to rent out and then the pandemic hit and someone bought that duplex for almost double what the lost price was. And then the list price of everything started going up. Now they know that we'll likely never own a home here, even with $150k income.

    This is literaly how I got my home. My neighbours aswell. The people selling it liked us and the local small bank liked us and bent the rules after a personal meeting. This was a year ago. Dont give up, it might just work.

    Human contacts and getting to know someone to make that personal connection is actually a great way to achieve a goal like getting a job.
    Trouble is, thanks to HR, nepotism rumors, and other more modern 'inconveniences', that is harder to accomplish because the new systems prevent you from talking to a hiring manager directly anymore. You must submit applications online. This helps them to compare skills and histories more statistically than to hire based on how they 'feel' a candidate can perform.
    Talking to an authority figure in person, if you are good at speaking and presenting yourself, is a great way to get a job, get a favor, or accomplish many things.
    But they know that, so they won't let you do that anymore. It seems that the advice has saturated the market and caused the whole system to change to circumvent the 'cheat'.

    • @Nictator42
      @Nictator42 9 місяців тому

      Also, the system is supposed to prevent charismatic idiots from duping hiring managers into hiring them and flooding their company with smiling yes men and sociopaths.

    Haha. Our first home sold in 1 day back in 2017. We had 3 offers, all cash from investors. Last one was over 10k of ask. Buying our home, the only reason we got it was A. The owners didn’t leave during our two viewings or inspection and loved my kids B. Both buying and selling agent were best friends and worked for the same firm. We still had to offer 10k over and throw down full interest money. We got lucky, this is just as things went to hell for everyone else looking to buy.
