  • Dennis is fishing for classics at the Rock’n Red Deer Car Show in Alberta Canada, and reels in beautiful yellow Marlin! This 1966 AMC Marlin is a resto-mod that looks like nothing else. With its unique fastback styling, updated interior and 4-Barrel 327 engine, this car is a rare catch. But first, we followed a rumble all the way to a crazy Ford Econoline Hot Rod. This pickup van has some serious body modifications, but your eyes and ears are immediately drawn to the Twin Supercharged 428 Cobra Jet engine displayed prominently in the bed. Then it’s a custom-built “Woody” coupe featuring Ford Model A front end and bodied by a harp builder. You have to see the craftsmanship on this baby! After that, we head over to a rare Canadian Pontiac! This 1961 Pontiac Laurentian was one of only 125 made in that body style and Honduras Maroon color combination. Making it even more unique is the upgraded Ram Jet 502 Big Block stuffed under its hood. Finally, a really sweet 1958 Mercury Park Lane 4-Door Hardtop with something very special under the hood. This Merc is powered by its 400HP ultra-rare original Super Marauder engine! Talk about a sleeper!
    The Rock’n Red Deer Car Show in Alberta, Canada only happens every three years, and we’re so glad we made it out for this one. Check out this episode of My Classic Car!

    1958 Super Marauder one year option only. Rarest of rare. It was actually a modified factory 430 Cid Lincoln engine and was officially the first 400 horsepower rated production U.S. V8.

    I know this video is 9 years old but I thought I'd comment anyway.
    I miss seeing your videos.
    There are a couple of other fellow's doing this kind of show on line but, I often wonder how much they really know about cars ! Just by the things they say ,I'd think not much !
    Love your videos and I hope you are alive and well.
    By the way this particular show was within an hours drive from where I live. Please do more videos !

      @@MyClassicCarTV forgive me, but I'm not much good with these things. If you're still doing shows how is it I'm not running across any new content 🤔 ? Tom from barn find (Haggerty) and your shows were always my go to preference. You both seem to know what you're talking about and have probably pulled a wrench or two in your lives. Now the most consistent show I can find is done by a guy who seems to know very little about cars. Guessing at best buy the questions and statements he makes. Next thing I know he's going on about his own personal car as a classic. A Viper ? Give me a break ! Anyone (with money) can buy a car . Mind you he does get back to me from time to time. But you would think someone that has these kind of shows would at least work on cars. Sorry for the rant ..... how can I find more of your videos ?

    I really never cared for the 65/66 Marlin. The body lines just look off to me. But I did see one at an AMO show one time where the owner had put 65/66 front fenders and grill from an Ambassador on it. That improved the looks a lot. The same show had a Ute style pickup built out of a 66 thru 69 American body style with the roof of a Rouge hardtop. That car still exists to my knowledge.

    fun fact ... the 1966 AMC Marlin was the answer to 1966 Plymouth's Barracuda...

    • @MyClassicCarTV
      @MyClassicCarTV  3 роки тому +2

      Actually the Barracuda premiered in 1964 and the Marlin in 1965, but the Marlin's fastback roof design was previewed on the 1964 Rambler Tarpon show car.

    Canadian Pontiacs were actually Chevrolets! GM Canada couldn't sell U.S. spec Pontiac Catalinas or Bonnevilles, so they bolted Pontiac style bodies into Chevy chassis and interiors. They were available with Chevy 6- and V8 engines, so this car would be very close in mechanical details and body style to a '61 Chevy Bel Air 2 door Sedan. The more expensive Pontiac Parisienne was closely related to the Impala.

      .....I don't know, maybe the Garbage Motors produced chevy pile of junk, because it's hundreds of pounds lighter than a bada** 58 Mercury? But there isn't a junk chevelle that looks anywhere near as good as that Mercury, cuz chevelles are ugly as hammered snake s***....

  • @styldsteel1
    @styldsteel1 7 років тому +5

    sure is nice to see different things. Chevelles, Vettes, Stangs, Chevys. A dime a dozen. When I see them at a car show, I just walk on by. I have no interest. The 66 Marlin is far more interesting and rare. This guy's wheel he put on are silly looking. it looks like he went to a store a slapped them on the car.
