The way that they handled the writing of how Slur was taken down was just awful. Slur was shown to be so powerful that she was able to 1v4 Rockman, Blues, Searchman AND Colonel and still kicked their asses. She also tanked a TRIPLE Program Advance unscathed. Then we have Forte come out of no where at the last minute and defeat her when he stood no chance against her before. The reason: Nebula Gray, which makes no sense. Forte did not have the power to conquer Nebula Gray on his own without fusing with Rockman, so how the hell did he conquer Nebula Gray on his own to gain his power to defeat Slur in the first place? The writing is just awful. I know that they were short on time, but they should have planned out the season better. The writing for the Past Tunnel plot was amazing, but it was sandwiched throughout the season with tons of filler. They could have swapped out the filler with a secondary plot showing Forte's progression and journey in becoming strong enough to defeat Nebula Gray on his own, then gain the latter's power to rightfully get his revenge on Slur. But because they just show him defeat Slur without investing time into properly setting it up, it just feels like a cheap hollow victory and a convenient way to get Slur out of the picture so that Rockman and the others would be able to save the day. Essentially, the writers had to Deus Ex Machina their way out because they were short on time and both Slur and Forte deserved better than that.
Bass didn't overcome nebula grey on his own. BassCross killed nebula Grey. Bass absorbed it's remains. And remember Dr.Regal was the Soul of Nebula Grey. And he abandoned Nebula Grey when he found a vulnerability in Dou's network. So Bass didn't need to fight Nebula Grey. He just absorbed the remains.
@@yujirohamna2430 That's even worse because it's even more lazy. According to that logic, Dr. Regal could have done the same and gathered the remains of Nebula Gray before he raided Duo's Comet. It's not like he was too busy. Dark Rockman and the Darkloids he employed were handling most of the busy work, so he definitely had time to gather those remains. He would have even greater motivation to do so considering that he was Nebula Gray's core and knew how strong Nebula Gray was. It also *CHEAPENS* Forte's character even more because he gathered the remains like a Vulture instead of building himself up to defeat a powerful foe like the Black Lion he's supposed to be. Gathering the remains of Nebula Gray makes him even more undeserving of his victory in his rematch with Slur. Essentially, his character was wasted because he was underused, so his rematch with Slur is not satisfying. If the writers dedicated time to building up Forte as a character and show him struggle in his growth, then Stream would have become a Masterpiece because we would see Forte struggle, succeed and grow. For example, if the writers made it so that the "remains" of Nebula Gray exist as autonomous "fragments" of his data that became powerful NetNavis on their own like Forte himself or Darkloids like Shademan, then when we see Forte battle each of these "fragments" to gain their power, it would make his victory in his rematch against Slur all the sweeter as opposed to Forte gathering the scraps like a vulture. The writers should have dedicated time to build Forte up as a character instead of wasting time with unnecessary filler. He literally showed up in the second last episode of Stream and was never seen again. That's not how you handle an antagonist like Forte nor the downfall of another one like Slur.
Gonna weigh in, prolly pretty late, but uh, you realize that the anime is an adaptation of the games, and that in the games Bass literally has absorbed every one of the last bosses to grow more powerful in an effort to defeat Rockman right? It’s not even out of character for anime Bass. He tried, and failed, to absorb Gospel waaay back to become complete. He failed because he couldn’t handle the data overload. Also this fight is cool as heck. So 🤷♂️
If you're asking if that fellow is Bass, you are correct. I just titled the video with his Japanese name since I was using Japanese footage, and this scene never got localized.

The Undernet
Virus you say? That’s what virus busting is for 😃
The way that they handled the writing of how Slur was taken down was just awful.

That's even worse because it's even more lazy.
That's not how you handle an antagonist like Forte nor the downfall of another one like Slur.

counterpoint: this is fucking cool
Gonna weigh in, prolly pretty late, but uh, you realize that the anime is an adaptation of the games, and that in the games Bass literally has absorbed every one of the last bosses to grow more powerful in an effort to defeat Rockman right?
It’s not even out of character for anime Bass. He tried, and failed, to absorb Gospel waaay back to become complete. He failed because he couldn’t handle the data overload.
Also this fight is cool as heck. So 🤷♂️

Bass?
If you're asking if that fellow is Bass, you are correct. I just titled the video with his Japanese name since I was using Japanese footage, and this scene never got localized.
Bass is based.... *Clown dances out the room.*
