After a confrontation Luke realized how dangerous Pat was, and took off in his car. Pat chased him off the road and shot him, then blew up the car to finish him off. Was quite horrid to watch, there are clips on yt.

I remember being infuriated each episode where he got away with something, very gripping. One of the best villains ever in soap history.
