I just got mine for $149 shipped to store on Oahu 🏝🌋🌊. I am an old lady taking up woodworking and can't lift the larger models. Your instructions were really helpful, Mahalo 👍🤗🥳
Everyone should get new blades for any kind of saw, including recip and jig saws. My low-end corded Ryobi jigsaw cut okay, then I put a Bosch blade in it. Wood now cuts like butter.
I just bought this on March19, 2022, as my first table saw ever. For anyone considering it: Take special care to triple check the blade and fence for square. Mine was quite a bit out of square and it took me an hour or so of fiddling to get it mostly right. The motor/blade adjustments are not great, a bit difficult to access and they only get you about 1/16" adjustability which was not quite enough to adjust mine perfectly. The bevel was set about 4 degrees off square at the factory, but this is way more adjustable and fixed easily. That said, once adjusted it did a really great job, even with the factory blade. I would agree with this video, now that I have tried it: Upgrade that blade.
I am having issues with getting the blade square with the miter slot. What did you do to get it square? I am contemplating taking it apart and trying to see if I can get it square. When I adjust via the screws, it angles more into the fence and is about a mm off square when it angles away from the fence. It's the best I can get with the adjusting screws. THanks!
@@BentonLandry Good question. I'll be honest, I didn't square to the mitre slot. I did it to the fence, since I thought that was more important. I am definitely not a carpenter, and this was the first table saw I have ever used. Good luck finding the answer.
@@BentonLandry It is off because the supprt rod going from the front to the back on which the blade rides is detached from the back. You will need to take the saw apart to push the rod back in its proper socket. I just returned it back to Home Depot. They were aware of the problem.
I ended up buying this saw for a vinyal floor job and it performed perfectly. I wouldn't recommend ripping 8' lengths of 3/4" p.t. plywood, but for it's price vs. function, it's pretty nice saw. Bigger jobs, get 15 amp 10" blade table saw, but either way a very solid tool for lighter cutting.🌲
I bought this saw for quick jobs. Easy to load in the bed of my truck with one hand. I made a stand to mount it in the hitch and I use the bed for an out feed table. Works great!
Good morning to you when I first seen your video on that Ryobi table saw rts08 I went and ordered one from Amazon it was not cheap as yours is I paid $145.89 but it is the same saw as yours I am very very happy with it I really really appreciated your video on it I do a lot of wood crafts I make picture frames and engraving wood signs thank you for the good video on your saw rts08
Wow nice 👍 my daughter going to buy it for my birthday and the Diablo 40t blade February 12th, although the saw has since increased in price to $129, but I still think that's a good price for a senior citizen hobby woodworker like my that builds things for family and friends 😊I also have the Ryobi 10in miter saw which is a great hobby saw for me, great video 👍
I had lost the instructions right after I bought mine. Honestly, I think my girlfriend threw them out. Anyhow, I went along with you on your video and got mine all together. Thank you for your help!!! I am now a new subscriber to your channel.💯
I got that same saw and it's a really decent saw . It's not great when cutting on bevels but for straight rips it's a good little table saw . And it's fairly light also . It'll get the job done .
My family bought me one of these for Christmas,I have a 10 inch table saw but it's too big to take into my man cave, this I can pick up and move very easily! I used electrical tape to tighten up the miter gauge groove, much better,a couple wraps around and pushed down into the angles! As for the fence not being straight to the blade, I always measure between the fence and the blade anyhow. I was pleasantly surprised by the power of this thing, easily rips through a 4X4, but you do have to turn the piece over to get all the way through, but it did it very well. The only thing that bothers me is the shut off switch, it takes a lot more to turn it off then it does to turn it on, I'm thinking of removing the dust cover so it's not so hard!
I did find another problem this afternoon, the fence isn't square with the table top! I found this out when I got measuring the face of the 4X4 that I cut it was thicker in the middle,at first I thought the blade wasn't straight, but I checked it with several squares and it is, then I took the squares and laid them on the table top and slid them against the fence, 1/16 out from top to bottom, so over 3 3/4 it's quite a bit, so I took the fence off, since it is supposed to be a 90 degree I checked it, it's not! It was too late to call Ryobi so as a quick fix I reset the stop on the saw blade angle, there is an allen head set screw in the table top, I slid the fence over to the blade in it's completely raise position and set the blade angle, I ran a board through and now have flat cuts, I will have to check my square very time I do end cuts but I did that on my old Craftsman anyhow!
When ripping like that without an outfeed table it's easier to rip half way and then turn the board on end and cut from the opposite end so you meet in the middle. This is was safer and more stable. This can work on really long material as well with a smaller jobsite type saw
Just learning about tools but loving it and for now, I just make shoddy pieces of furniture or shelving from framing wood or scrap but I am looking to build a shed and I want to add a big saw. To be honest I have a few handheld saws but I don't have anything I'm happy with yet. This or the 10 inch metabo miter? My boyfriend either acts like he does not know anything about this kind of thing or really doesnt, so I have to ask one on line. The same happens when any sort of repair needs to take place so that leaves me with UA-cam and my own two hands. Lol.
It's products like this where Ryobi starts to show where the cost cutting happens. For a table saw I want to make sure my knobs and buttons are functioning well and super precise. For simple tools like Brad nailers, lawn mowers, etc, Ryobi is FANTASTIC. However, when approaching things like table saws, it's best to spend the extra $200 on a DeWalt or Milwaukee since those are designed with very tight tolerances and give you much better control with quality knobs and buttons.
Thanks for the video. Much easier than reading the instruction manual on where to house the accessories. I would say that the riving knife needs to be raised before attaching the guard though.
I have this saw and it's just ok. Major flaw is the fence is not parallel with the blade and that really bugs me. I'm constantly fiddling with it to align the fence with each rip cut I make. Time consuming. Will get a table saw someday with a proper fence.
It looks like the slot for the miter was removed from the left side of the blade. If there was only to have only one slot, it would have been better on the left side of the blade. I frequently use a feather board on the left slot to keep pressure of the wood against the fence as you push it through the blade.
The guard is actually placed wrong though on the instructions it shows it should be flat not pointed up. U have to unlock the orange switch thing inside by the blade and pull it all the way out then lock it and the kikckback should go around the blade and the antikickback teeth thing should actually move up to where wood can slide trough
as an update to my last post , i replaced the factory blade with a diablo blade . the blade was thinner than the riving knife making it unusable with that blade. trying to force the board past the knife just made for terrible useless cuts. the problem was these were the only 8 1/4 blades readily available. i could get an 8 in blade but then i couldnt cut through a 4x4 in 2 passes.
a few things i have run into though , with only the one guide for a rip fence it makes the size of the peice cut for the guide more critical then it would have to be if there were 2. useing the rip fence , the fence is not true 90 % to the table and does not lock straight front to back . the threaded stud on the saw is not long enough to get a full one inch dado set in . 5/8 is about as wide as you go and still have full threads on the nut. the 8 1/4 in blade is just enough to cut all the way through a 4x4 in two passes . a 8in blade will not make that cut. also without the ryobi guide for the dado set , you cant use most homeade style guides.
I totally agree !! It sucks because I am always having to take my tape measure and check both sides Everytime I cut a new size . Absolutely a pain in the butt
@@dewalt4594 found a way around that. my saw fits into the top of my bench to where the table saw top is the only part exposed. cut a peice of 5/4 x 6 as long as the table saw mounted on the left side of table just far enough away to put another guide slot on my cross cut sled using using left side of table saw as second guide runner. you may have to plane down or sand the 5/4 to mount it flush with saw table top, i didnt have to though.this solved that problem
I have only 2 I pray I get answers. 1 can this short table saw be used to cut full boards ?? 2 please what is the name of that black handle used to support what cut instead of using your hand ?
I love Ryobi products but you don't do it any justice by not being safe. Use a stable cutting surface, and make sure the fence, riving knife and blade are square before using.
You couldn’t pay me enough money to use this saw. I find them dangerous enough let alone buying one for 100 dollars. I was waiting for the kickback from that bent riving knife if you can even adjust it.

I've flew past this video more than a few times, because I wasn't in the market for a table saw yet. Now that I am, I noticed a few things in your video that I took note of.. 1. You didn't take the time to bellyache about the lack of a rack and pinion fence when whole dang ain't but a $120.00, I know it's more now, but not my point. My point is, take the time to pay attention to the fence and be sure it's parallel to the blade before you cut, because no power tool is completely stupid-proof. 2. You proved that the saw, even at 13amps, has the power to cut well with a 60tooth blade. Great for doing the small jobs with precision. Meaning that a small woodworker, on tight budget can get this saw, and the lumber to build it's out feed table and assemble everything, and make more money faster, and buy a bigger job-site table later. If this thing last a beginner a year, they could easily make enough profit to upscale. This saw, like any other power tool, could pay for itself on the 1st job, just like 'bigger-better' tools. I think I'm sold. I could do far more with this saw, than without it. Thanks for the video brother.😎
there are flaws with this saw and I showed in this video the flaws on it. you could also argue that this saw doesnt come with a stand. no point of pointing out what it lacks. I show what it has.
I would not knock this saw an 8 1/4” blade is a nice size for many tasks. I’d even be inclined to have one as a second table saw to use when my primary table saw is set up for multiple complicated cuts and I just need to make some odd cut. Or if I was building a shed or some other framing project. However this demonstration gains my criticism for many of the same comments already mentioned. The user removed and stored the blade guard but left the out-of-adjustment he called it a “bracket” which is the riving knife one of the primary safety features in place to wildly nudge the work passed it. This proves the saw isn’t dangerous but the user can be.
you do realize this was an unboxing and test video right out of the box to see how it is. adjustments were made after the video. but im glad you watched my 2 year old video :) thank you
@@ManCaverTools yes I do realize that and my interest in an 8 1/4” table saw is why I watched this video, also I have a few Ryobi power tools that perform well (no duds). It looks like it worked out of the box as it should. Saws like this could fill a purpose in a shop or job site. Thanks for your video.
Hey thanks for this video. I saw this saw just yesterday for this price and was thinking about getting my son-in-law this as he just does odd jobs around the house but I'm one that only buys high end tools and was weary about this even for him but yeah it looks pretty good for the weekend carpenter. My Christmas 🎄 shopping is done for him thanks to you :-)
I've had the same problem with that bracket on my Metabo HPT. The riving knife snags the work peice. I won't use a table saw without one. I had to bend it in a vise to straighten it.
Nice brother! I just got me the same table saw. I’m all team red on all my other tools but I have ryobi miter and table saw because they are cheaper corded tools I don’t use much but nice to have. I too changed out the blade for a Diablo one.
So does no one actually use the cheap plastic kickback thing? I couldn't even figure out how to stick it on for longer than I care to admit. (Yes I also have trouble with wiper blades)
Hey Dave I called home depot about the saw they say it's on sale for $119. And that's normal price I think I made her mad when I busted them out and I even asked her if there lowering the price for cyber Monday I'm going to Lowe's and buy the Craftsman table saw
I accidentally bought a 8 1/2" blade instead of 8 1/4" blade for this same table saw. Do you know if it will still work even though it's only 1/4" bigger?
generally saws, routers or any portable power tools are far more stable when attached to a table or sawhorse with either clamps or bolts. the bolts/clamps transfer the vibrations to the legs. A covered carport is an excellent place to do any cutting since you can just sweep the mess away. All saws are messy, If i'm working in my shop I attach a shopvac to my equipment.
Blade guard installed incorrectly. The black bar needs to be horizontal to the table, not angled upward. You have to pull the riving knife into the up position! Important step...
@@ManCaverTools I fit a 1/4” wide stack on mine without modifying the guard. But I noticed 2 issues: 1. Because there is play in the height adjustment, the blade can jump up and down a bit. The “nut bar” piece that the adjustment knob ties into twists around causing play. I can move the motor assembly up and down by hand. I’m trying to figure out a way to really lock the height and open to suggestions. 2. The guard around the blade on mine is pretty flimsy. So if I’m not incredibly careful it is easy to accidentally push it down on smaller pieces. I may look at milling a solid replacement piece but only if I can figure out the height issue. I didn’t try to go wider but you I could if you modified the guard for anyone wondering.
you have to go slow with these. i have one and the battery works longer when you do. bigger sheets of wood can be off by about a 1/16 to 1/8 even when measured front and back from blade to fence, so be absolutely flush against the fence or have another person helping.
Only thing I saw of definite concern is the safety of the power switch. Looked like even if you locked it, it can still be powered on then not off. Even if you unplug it still a massive safety potential issue for untrained or kids. Would be great if you make a follow up video on this tool and go more indepth on how well and straight the fence is, safety features etc. Decent video for a hey, look at this.
My only disagreement here is replacing the stock blade with that Diablo. I get the tooth count but there's so many better blades than Diablo. I'd take the stock over that garbage.
For the price, I guess it’s decent. I have had this saw for about 6 months now and honestly absolutely hate it. The fence is garbage and not square to the top of the saw. In order to have square cuts you have to measure the fence to the blade 100 times. It’s so annoying!
4:45 errr WRONG, 😂 you didn’t read the manual 🤣 You're supposed to raise the riving knife befor putting on the blade guard, and the bar between the the blade guard needs to be parallel to the table, not pointing up. Oh Lord. 🤦🏼♀️😂🙈

I got my for $20 and it needs a height adjustment rod and screws. Sure having hard time finding these parts. Any ideas?
Hey thanks for this video. I saw this saw just yesterday for this price and was thinking about getting my son-in-law this as he just does odd jobs around the house but I'm one that only buys high end tools and was weary about this even for him but yeah it looks pretty good for the weekend carpenter. My Christmas 🎄 shopping is done for him thanks to you :-)
I got one for Christmas myself, looking forward to setting it up.
Your saw blade may also be thinner than the riving knife causing the binding.
Thank you Sir for sharing awesome 👍😜
I've had the same problem with that bracket on my Metabo HPT. The riving knife snags the work peice. I won't use a table saw without one. I had to bend it in a vise to straighten it.
There is an adjustment for it...
@paul not when it is actually bent which is the problem I had. Fortunately they sent another since mine was caught on day one and under warranty.
Nice brother! I just got me the same table saw. I’m all team red on all my other tools but I have ryobi miter and table saw because they are cheaper corded tools I don’t use much but nice to have. I too changed out the blade for a Diablo one.
I had the 10 inch and had to get rid of it. The blade wouldn’t sit square and it tossed a bit of wood down the street. Lol.
….I like this saw 😂
Would you say the cuts are good enough to make a cutting board?
60 teeth is really high for a table saw.. generally a 24tooth blade makes a pretty dang clean and smooth cut on a table saw..
Yes But a 60T Will Stay Sharper Longer
Why did you change the blade? Did you just not like the Ryobi blade?
Thanks! Just picked mine up yesterday!
I wonder what the saw would do on a less rickety table? Good video that saw is definitely on my radar 😄👌
generally saws, routers or any portable power tools are far more stable when attached to a table or sawhorse with either clamps or bolts. the bolts/clamps transfer the vibrations to the legs.
A covered carport is an excellent place to do any cutting since you can just sweep the mess away. All saws are messy, If i'm working in my shop I attach a shopvac to my equipment.
The wobbly table was sending my anxiety off the charts
You hit it out of the park my friend 👍
Looking nice, can you send link so I can purchase
Mine sparks from the blade??
Where do I buy the table saw for 119. and does that include shipping. Cannot seem to find where to order on Mann Carver Tools.
I’m gonna get this.. thank you
does it come with a saw?
it does come with a blade. but I normally dont use the blades that comes with the tool.
Now in 2024, it is $149. I want one because most of that I do is smaller than my heavy ( not very portable) 10 inch saw.
just got one will be using it soon
Blade guard installed incorrectly. The black bar needs to be horizontal to the table, not angled upward.
You have to pull the riving knife into the up position! Important step...
Thank you for your hard work Man Caver Tools
Hi
@@dav1d629 hello
Can you make angle cuts with this?
What size bolts are needed to mount it to a workbench?
How did u get the guard to line up? I had an orange lever to push and it lined up.
Where did you get it for $119?
60 teeth is better for cross cuts. 24 tooth will make cleaner rip cuts.
Hey I got a question is that plastic or metal all the displays here are in boxes no way to check
Plastic
How wide is the Miter gage slot?
Will it fit a dado stack
no
Can I do angular cuts?
you might have to jerry rig something to make that happen with precision
Hi Dave , your tool présentation is good as usual but sorry to tell you that it sounds like an old VCR😊🇫🇷...
You went from loosen to tighten then back to loosen during the blade change 🙃🤦 we’ve all been there done that don’t worry
Can you put a dado blade on this?
yes, I did put a diablo blade on it
@@ManCaverTools I fit a 1/4” wide stack on mine without modifying the guard. But I noticed 2 issues:
Mines just to powerful has a massive industrial motor. And it’s from the early 80s
Thanks
you have to go slow with these. i have one and the battery works longer when you do. bigger sheets of wood can be off by about a 1/16 to 1/8 even when measured front and back from blade to fence, so be absolutely flush against the fence or have another person helping.
Mark this is NOT the battery powered model.
Here we go
I like that lol
Only thing I saw of definite concern is the safety of the power switch. Looked like even if you locked it, it can still be powered on then not off. Even if you unplug it still a massive safety potential issue for untrained or kids. Would be great if you make a follow up video on this tool and go more indepth on how well and straight the fence is, safety features etc. Decent video for a hey, look at this.
When locked the OFF switch is constantly activated and therefore you can not press or switch it ON
Yes...
My only disagreement here is replacing the stock blade with that Diablo. I get the tooth count but there's so many better blades than Diablo. I'd take the stock over that garbage.
Haha….maybe invest in a solid surface to sit the saw on rather than a JELL-O tray. Just sayin.
You could use the drills behind you to run a tesla
lol
Today it was 149.00 plus tax
For the price, I guess it’s decent. I have had this saw for about 6 months now and honestly absolutely hate it. The fence is garbage and not square to the top of the saw. In order to have square cuts you have to measure the fence to the blade 100 times. It’s so annoying!
You didn't pull out the riving knife
Has anyone made a crosscut sled for it??
Looks like the blade is almost half the price of the table saw..
aint that the truth lol
Oof bro you need a Sennheiser Lavalier microphone real bad
Why!? So it's even *louder* when he turns the fuckin' saw on!? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♀️🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♀️
The blade cost almost as much as the saw 😅
Show 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏 Brasil
4:45 errr WRONG, 😂 you didn’t read the manual 🤣 You're supposed to raise the riving knife befor putting on the blade guard, and the bar between the the blade guard needs to be parallel to the table, not pointing up. Oh Lord. 🤦🏼♀️😂🙈
yo do know that I do a lot more than what you see on camera. perhaps I adjusted it after the video maybe.
just saying
