"If you'll excuse me, comadante, I just haven't been myself all evening". Now that has got to be a great ending line. Good episode. Thanks for bringing these to us who remember the best Zorro of them all.
Can everyone please take a moment to appreciate not only Bernardo's quick thinking in moving the ladder but also the fake Zorro's blatant confusion over the whole mess? You can SEE him thinking "I could have sworn it was over here!"
I think the biggest give away that he wasn't Zorro was the fact that he used a gun. When was the last time you saw Zorro with a pistol? But as a bit of trivia, I do believe the original Zorro from the novels was both a smoker and did carry (but not use) a gun. He used a gun to keep large amounts of soldiers at bay to prevent himself from being overwhelmed. He did this in the 1920 film adaptation by Douglas Fairbanks Sr.
This was the last episode I saw as a kid in Hungary, before my family moved to Japan, a long ago. This series was one of that I missed the most in the first few years. The only thing I could find in Japan was the theme song in a Disney song collection video (it had the second verse too, though).
Commandante: "Come fight me and make it look good!!!" Zorro's eyes look like the eyes of a fast ball hitter when he sees a fast ball coming towards him and he knows he is going to put it in the Upper Deck for a home run!!!! Lol!!!!
@SeigfriedtheGreat That was funny! Guy Williams really was one of the best when it came to those punchlines along with Tyrone Powers and Antonio Banderas.
ermm I wonder... how could Diego changed his cloth so fast and slowly walk back into the bar and pretend did not know anything.? That's what i like him so much in his Zorro persona...
@Yugrasdru Speaking of the look on ZORRO'S face when Monastario challenged him to the "fake" duel, what about the look on MONASTARIO'S face when he SAW Zorro?
Monasterio gets owned by Zorro in every single duel in the show, but for some reason Monastario is always supremely confident that he's the better swordsman and wants to fight him one on one. Never seems to consider that Zorro might finally stab him in the heart and never has any inner doubts about why he loses every single encounter before, even though they sword fight like two times an episode and he's never been close to beating him. I never got why they made that part of his character.
When is this great series going to be on Blu Ray and colorized ? It took 40 years for Batman & The Man From U.N.C.L.E. to be released. I am 67. I cannot wait another 40 years.
Sorry to disappoint, but probably never. It's alot of work to Blue Ray remaster shows that were shot on film and not originally shot digitially to start with. It also requires stuff like the audio track which would have to have been kept and in decent condition for the last half a century. This version of Zorro seems to have mostly fallen from public eye other than in people that watched it as kids such as yourself. And with streaming, physical media is becoming less and less prized since most will accept less than perfect quality just to watch it on a streaming service. Alas, it probably won't happen. You can bet modern Disney probably considers it "problematic" because of the stereotypes and depictions of the time not to mention all the Spanish characters not being played by actual Hispanic actors.
How come, when Zorro shows up this time, people don't seem to notice he sounds different? I mean, I know we've discussed why people don't recognize DIEGO'S voice when he's behind the mask, but THIS guy? Do they think Zorro has a sore throat or something?
This whole thing is already reminding me of the cartoon version of Zorro. It is like an reenactment. In the cartoon, the captain invites all of Diego's family but except in the cartoon, a female in Diego's family dressed up as Diego only to get the military captain confuse. That is when that woman say are you suggesting Zorro is a woman? Like the name of the episode because it is matching the theme of the cartoon version where there are 2 Zorros. 1 is the imposter and the other is real. And on top of that, the Sargeant in the cartoon version is also called Garcia.
OMG even my 99 year old disabled great grandmother could have hit him at 4:55...I know it is only a show but I sometimes get rather frustrated how everybody manages to shoot people from a far distance but still miss zorro when he's 3 feet away
Even bullets respect El Zorro! And a miss at only a few feet is quite possible for the untrained or when the shooter panics or flinches. Like when the REAL Zorro is about to kick his a$$.
@@alexgutierrez3500 Si, Senor! That, too. But Guy Williams as Zorro KICKED A$$! Why did we have to lose him so soon? Today’s Hollywood isn’t fit to shine his shoes.
Got to love watching the criminals get their due.
Zorro has some really clever lines too. Love the humor.
Guy Williams was perfect for this part.
hahaha I love the look on Zorro's face after Monastario tells him to fight him and make it look good.
Plus both of their facial expressions: "What the f.uck, dude?!"
I love his smile while he is fencing

"Never mind the musicians, they never have money."
MOST HILARIOUS LINE EVER.
Can everyone please take a moment to appreciate not only Bernardo's quick thinking in moving the ladder but also the fake Zorro's blatant confusion over the whole mess? You can SEE him thinking "I could have sworn it was over here!"
“Sergeant Garcia, explain yourself!” Silence! Not another word! 😂😂😂👏👏👏
Love the innkeeper's reaction to the Z on the door at the end.
and what was it
Linkforlife199 yeah
Linkforlife199 z
"Never mind the musicians, they never have money."
Some things never change.
ha ha well said as a former musician i can attest to that.
What's even worse is that the so-called "stars" who can't sing or play an instrument but claimed to be "musicians" do have money...
That line was an ad lib, too :)
Zorro's smile makes me melt
💙🧡💜❤ me to!!!!! I can't describe!!!!
I love this episode its great. I just love Garcia and Bernardo

True. The fake Zorro's character was mean and cruel!!! However, Zorrow defeated him quickly and decisively and exposed him!!! Awesome!!!
Every episode with Monastario is excellent!
yes, someone was a true baboso to write Monasterio out of the script
This is pretty cool for something that came out in the 1950s.
I agree! I have never seen these Zorro tv episodes before
Ladder scene - great
Monastario is falling through a lot of furniture this episode.
It does seem as if Los Angeles craftmanship is some of the sorriest in the world, as easy as those chairs and tables brea,.

The best tv series of all time: ZORRO, along with BONANZA, I've seen all its 78 chapters 12 times each one!!!
A great show. I was just a little kid when this was on TV, and at age 4 or 5, I had my Zorro mask, black hat and sword so I could play Zorro too.
My mother loved each episode from the first to the last!
Though I never saw this one and i thought I had seen them all thanks people. Guy Williams is the best.
Just always loved Guy Williams. He was the best Zorro to me
Dude, watch the guy right beside Diego while the Comandante is speaking. His expressions are hilarious.
Echt beste aflevering van zorro ooit.
Yeah, this is one of my three favourite too! I watched it when I was 5 and I recorded it on VHS. :)
Commandante: "Come fight me and make it look good!!!" Zorro's eyes look like the eyes of a fast ball hitter when he sees a fast ball coming towards him and he knows he is going to put it in the Upper Deck for a home run!!!! Lol!!!!
The just don't make shows like this anymore. A great family show with action, intrigue, suspense, plenty of humor, and usually a moral to the story.
Go on, switch the positions of the ladder to the balcony so the fake Zorro cannot get away, will you, Bernardo?
Poor commandante... You can't accuse him of not trying...
Sgt. Garcia is great too!!! He is funny and kind hearted!!!
Prepare for drouble and make it double! :D
@SeigfriedtheGreat That was funny! Guy Williams really was one of the best when it came to those punchlines along with Tyrone Powers and Antonio Banderas.
A musician is someone who drives 5,000 dollars worth of stuff to make a fifty. Dudes got a point about them not having any money, lmao.
Monastario gets knocked through more tables than a Pro wrestler.
4:46 monasterio's face XD
Monasterio 😍
O my gosh I love bernardo.
@coralin378
Agreed, one of the best villains ever.
To the Commandante!
why won't they release this series on dvd they'll make a lot of money.
6:09 “adios señor imposter” 😂 as a native Spanish speaker sounds weird since it’s pronounced “impostor”
Puede decir cualquier cosa en castellano que ellos no cazan una..
At about 1:12, both Monastario and Don Diego are thinking, "Dude, I really think this dancer digs me."
This is my second favorite episode!
Great ep :D
ermm I wonder... how could Diego changed his cloth so fast and slowly walk back into the bar and pretend did not know anything.? That's what i like him so much in his Zorro persona...
Because he is the clever fox.
He sees everything. When others are distracted, he moves stealthily.
YES!!! ThANK U for a new episode!!
Definitely my favorite version of zorro is Guy Williams & music
Followed by
Anthony Hopkins - Antonio Benderas And the music
Guy Williams has always been my favorite
There are not too many things that can anger a super hero more than a criminal impersonating them!!! Wow!!!
I haven't been myself all evening.
@Yugrasdru Speaking of the look on ZORRO'S face when Monastario challenged him to the "fake" duel, what about the look on MONASTARIO'S face when he SAW Zorro?
This is my favorite episode!!! The imposter Zorro did not put up much of a fight!!!!
0:53 A no brainer that he kept her on retainer

zorro should be out on DVD.
It’s on Disney plus but they turned the episodes into like a hour long movie which cut out a lot of funny moments. But oh well
It was released as a box set (both black and white and color) a while back.
This video is now over a decade old... interesting...
Oh I know. My parents were just born at that time. Can you believe it!

Would be amazing if they released a Blu Ray at 16:9 aspect ratio, 720 or 1080p and remastered audio.

The dancer was beautiful. I found out her name was Elvera Corona.
@6:20. Why does the real Zorro exit through that bedroom? As far as he knows, the ladder is still at the OTHER bedroom he entered through.
This whole thing is already reminding me of the cartoon version of Zorro. It is like an reenactment. Oh, gosh I wanna EAT him when he smirks like that at Monestario! (3:50)
mildetryth wtf u thristy souls
I rather think she says "canallia" or something like that, meaning dog or lowlife.
There are 2 Zorros which one is ours
