This song makes you feel something and although it may be unpleasant to feel sad I think that it's a testament to the band. Someone really opened up in "my mind" and you can feel the sense of despair, depression and melancholy however fleeting it may be. Obviously this is just what I get from the song, perhaps you feel differently.

I think it's about a girl he knew or dated that battled with long term depression, and the older she got the less she enjoyed life. And she questions why she doesn't see the beauty in the world like she used to.
But that's just low key how I feel so maybe that's why I think that lol
