actually they're not just used for hunting bears. They're used in some national forests to keep bears away from main areas humans stay in/frequent, basically keep bears from being a problem without harming them.

I swear this would actually be how Gabs would be as a hotel owner....every time anyone walks in she gets surprised and is like "hello! welcome to my resort! I've prepared your room for you, I hope you like it!" In this all super sweet and adorable voice and everything :)
I feel like the animation style is similar to We Bare Bears in a way. I love that they all have human names. All but one of my dogs have had human names and the one that didn't just looked like the name he already had which was Grunt as he made lots of vocalizations. This is comparable to Stardew and The Little Witch in the Woods as far as comfort level so far. Gab, I think you would enjoy Calico as another relaxing game. You run your own cat cafe and it has some definite Stardew qualities. Spiritfarer is another I'd recommend.

Anyone remember that game with the little cubes shoved really tight into a frame? And there was a bear on top? And you whacked the cubes with a little hammer to try and make the bear fall? Thats what the floor of the menu screen made me think of. I was assaulted right off the bat with a nostalgia! Not even 2 seconds into the video and I'm already in a good mood, and it only got better from there. Thanks for always playing such excellent games and sharing them with the world, Gab!

Watched Gab's Stardew series last year when i got covid for the first time. Really helped to pass the time and got rid of my boredom. Now, i got covid for the second time, the cycle continues.. only with a different series 😂
I've been thinking about buying this game for a while now, mostly because the bear looks so cute, and I'm big time into that. (I have some teddy bears that are often the best friends I have.) But I held off because I wasn't really sure I'd get on with the genre of the game. I have plenty of kind-of similar games that I've only scratched the surface and then abandoned. So watching, rather than playing this one is far more entertaining to me. Especially with Gab doing it: cute and entertaining on both sides of the screen!

Karelian Dogs' full breed name is the Karelian Bear Dog; the breed was first bred in Finland for hunting large game, especially bears. They'd distract the bear by barking at it, while the hunter would come around to kill the distracted bear. Anni better not be set up the betray him in some way!
