132195 / 1937 Ford 5-Window Coupe

Your first clue that this 1937 Ford coupe is something special is expressed in one the awards this car has won: the PPG "Outstanding Use of Color" award from the 2010 Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. The burnt orange metallic over black paint scheme is both contemporary and timeless, and the quality will have people examining this car for hours, marveling at the attention to detail. Nestled into the engine bay is a 383 Chevy with a Weiand blower making 450 horsepower. It is dressed up with a polished aluminum intake and valve covers, along with chrome accessories. Trick hood hinges allow the hood to tilt forward and hold the hood in place above the bodywork. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic feeding a Ford 9-inch rear. The front suspension is independent, while an Air Ride suspension system holds up all four corners. Brakes are discs by Baer and rolling stock consists of Billet Specialties wheels wearing 18-inch front and 20-inch rear BFGoodrich radials.
With an adjustable, custom-crafted seat covered in supple black and gray leather, there's a surprising amount of space inside. Everything is new, from the carpets to the custom headliner. " Lots of comments here about the engine being GM and the rest Ford, well its not the end of the world , seriously....Unorthedox yeah, but. it has a very good paint job, and there was a pretty penny invested to say the least.I shoot car videos on a regular basis and have seen many verions of Hybrid builds that i would have considered a bit out of the norm,but the untent of the creation should always be acknowledged " I like it, and i think it came out just fine.

It's not that it's unorthodox, it's that it's all too common. Take X old car, throw in a Chevy crate engine, maybe even throw in a Corvette rear end, add a custom paint job and interior. Win hotrod awards.
There are other crate engines out there. Ford even makes some! It's always extra nice to see a hotrod where they've chosen an engine appropriate to the brand instead of defaulting to the boring choice of Chevy.

if ford would build a motor that's worth a crap then maybe they would use it. what do u want ,a 302 ,or a flathead in there..

I'd take a SBC or BBC over a Flathead or UGLY 302. Chevy's are compact and clean looking engines. Ford has those old ugly corrosion prone timing chain covers that are almost impossible to remove the bolts form, without snapping them off in the cast iron block. Flatheads are low compression, low horsepower BOAT ANCHORS, Other GM engines as well as Mopar had the same problem. Better yet are GM'S LS series, or the New Hemi.
