The contrast between the spoken word that exposes the problems of the world and the dirty thrash songs is wonderful. I think this band is the best of crustcore and political punk. To put it bluntly, they're more exciting than Antisect or Dirt.
Tracklist: A1 -Relative Term Of Government A2 -Rationalize A3 -Punk Is Mediocrity A4 - Spoken Word - Mike Antipathy - Anarchism: The Ideological Refugee Camp B1 -Virtual Waste B2 -This Isn't Life B3 -Day In The Life Of... B4 -Crippled With Fear
Oh God, I haven't heard Mike's spoken word track in so many years, and it's crazy to think that, the kids these days would probably try and "cancel" Mike and/or this band for his radical and anti-PC ideas. I cannot believe in just the last 10 years, how insanely sensitive and ridiculous people have become. Punk used to be dangerous once upon a time. Now, instead of being about liberty, freedom, peace/chaos, self sustenance and sufficiency, equality, and straight up thinking for one's self and not following any gods or masters, it's instead become just as bad as extremism and it seems like we somehow got those beliefs and idealogies confused with liberalism and the left wing. While some views may be similar and shared, it does not mean it's right. The far left is just as bad as the far right, and I feel like maybe the thought process is that you have to be far left to be against the far right, but I seem to remember when punk held up a big middle finger to BOTH parties and said "we don't want ANY of it!". Now, sadly, the punk thing to do is to fall right in line with the democrats and the left and mirror/mimic all their talking points and believe they can do no wrong. Maybe...Am I so out of touch? No. It's the children who are wrong! Lol, but yeah, Mike's words here speak to me just as powerful as they did back in early 2000s. Yeah it was pretty radical, but the message was true and just! I wonder what kids would think these days, hearing it? Haha *Form our own militias and secure our own neighborhoods? GASP!!! I hope you don't mean.... Wit....with GUNS, do you?! And wtf was that crap you were talking about the wonderful Nation of Islam?! How dare you! We only hate white western religion in 2021 my guy! Omg, I just assumed your gender..... Please, please forgive me!!!!*
anyone gonna bitch about Mike's spoken word are just liberals that aren't radical enough left....the same types that "anarchist" or "revolution" are too extreme. a lot of anarchists are armed now days and setting up networks of mutual aid and community defense....if that's too radical for someone then they're the exact thing Mike's spoken word is talking about
It blows my mind how the left has been completely decimated. All these mainstream NPC lefties care more about race baiting and pronouns than the financial slavery and corporate governance the old left used to protest. The irony is that the new left doesnt give a shit about ANY of these things!! The entire system is actually backing them with "woke" stuff while pacificying them with consumer feel good bullshit. Ironically its now the right wing who has legitimate quals with the government and its encroachments on freedom. The new left is actually pretty overtly anti-freedom and authoritarian af.
you’ve been watching too many youtube videos friend. These scenes still stand for these principles outlined here. Have strides been made? Arguable. But to act like the anarcho/punk scene now is afraid of guns/community autonomy/radical thinking is frankly out of touch.
I'm not into liberal identity politics, in fact I hate it..but being for inclusion and using less harmful language isn't liberalism..liberals and the left aren't the same, but they're used interchangeably in the states...we're politically illiterate..anarchism practices interselctionality, not liberal identity politics. Whi h I think is what you're referring to as PC...he didn't say anything anti-PC...
I saw some dude with a shirt of this and looked these guys up. Genuinely some of the sickest shit ever.
I remember feeling personally attacked in high school by Mike Antipathy’s Simpsons line :)
