Eugene and his gym have produced so many UFC stars- most notably Israel Adesanya, Dan Hooker and Kaikara France. He has even been recognized as the best MMA coach in the world in 2022.

Ive always said if it wasn't for Lolo there would be no ckb there would be very little combat sport in NZ ,Lolo ,Phillip Lam ,Ray Sefo all did so much for combat sport in NZ they are the men responsible for it all here in NZ today .

Great interview, love Eugene’s character, he’s a genuine guy, with some strong ethical codes
The fact that Jon Jones has recently been bragging about the "huge" sum of $15 million Dana offered him to fight Stipe, while Tyson Fury made $150 million yesterday in his loss to Usyk, is a clear example of the massive pay disparity mma fighters are faced with in the UFC. Of course they're getting ripped off.
On average UFC fighters get paid more than boxers.
@@ngatiwarrior6975 Correct, but the biggest drawcards, the biggest names who make the most money for the UFC are undeniably underpaid and don't earn even close to what their boxing counterparts, the top tier boxers, are making for big fights. The example I provided above is a case in point. The biggest payday a UFC superstar has received to date is the $5 million Conor earned for the second Poirier fight. In comparison, Ryan Garcia raked in a cool $30 million for his loss to Tank Davis last year and made a shit ton more in his recent win vs Devin Haney.

@@thetalentedmrfitz Conor earned 22 million for the first Dustin fight and 33 million for the second, jon Jones base salary for like the last 10 years was 5 million per fight, it's much bigger now since he just signed a new deal when he went up to heavyweight, adysanya is earning 8 million per fight, so I don't know where your getting your numbers from when you can look this up online right now.

He made that total through ppv takings and sponsorships and endorsements. Interesting that the third Poirier fight wasn't mentioned, where he earned only $5 million for that loss. Bottom line is and the point *YOU'RE* missing, is that UFC fighters are being underpaid, they're being royally ripped off, especially when compared to their boxing peers. Sure they're doing alot better than they used to which is great but they're still not being paid what they're worth for putting their lives at risk entertaining the masses. Use your brain, dude. Fighters have been saying this for the past decade and Eugene himself alluded to it in this podcast which is why I made the initial comment in the first place.
