@@gundabalf 2dollar every day for the rest of us life for free isn't much at the beginning but after10years you'll get 7300 and that is a lot ain't it?😁
You're a very good teacher! I've looked at a lot of piano teachers online since I started on March 19th my 62nd birthday! I like your style. Thank you for being here for us! And congratulations on your new baby!
I love how you teach!! Very motivating!! Thank you for all your tips, lessons and creativity! New beginner here after a shoulder surgery! Learning at 64 years old!
I've checked out ALL of the really good teachers AND their routines to get you really playing well, and this Superman is far and away the best on UA-cam! No arguments--I don't want to hear it! So there!
Chromatic scales with the 1-2-3 finger are amazing to strengthen the fingers. Make sure that the faster you go, the more stacato the notes have to sound and less time is spent in the contact with the keys. Also practicing with 3-4-5 for chormatic is good. I usually warm up with the arpeggios of Op 10 No1 bu Chopin for the right hand. after I learnt those arpeggios, there was very little repertoire I couldn't play. For the left hand I practice the Revolutionary Etudes first arpeggios and I'm good to go. Wonderful exercises.
I did this for 10 minutes everyday, just after stretching my hands ( GuitarLessons365) and it helped a lot getting familiar with this kind of exercises and with getting my hands ready. HOWEVER something that is really not highlighted enough is that you have to do these *correctly* and you should not go for speed. I had to relearn how to do these at about *65 BPM* (always use a metronome while practicing!) and I'll bump up the BPM accordingly whenever I'll get really familiar with it. Also I feel the arpeggios and scales should ascend and descend.
Last couple of days I am searching like a crazy for some tutorials but this one is so far the best!! I really love the fact there is the little sheet at the right corner as I struggle with reading notes. Josef, BIG thanks for what you are doing for us! :) and keep going please!
The way you speak of studying piano makes me feel so unachieved even if I have studied piano for almost 2 decades 😂 meaning to say I am glad I have finally found someone who can teach me to play better.
As a music major I wish I could play for hours on end without noticing... When you turn a hobby into a career it becomes a lot more pressurising and no longer just for enjoyment :(
I said I disagree with the part about being sloppy . Take your time and make sure that you're hitting is what you wanted to hit if you're doing octaves and jumping up and down back and forth and make sure that you're getting that distance proper every time . The more you focus on accuracy the more quickly accuracy will find you. When playing piano, accuracy is everything. Speed is obtained through muscle memory. And muscle memory can be obtained by playing at any speed. And once again an excellent video. Thank you very much
I know 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, 6/9, sus, pentatonic scales. Where I'm lacking is technique. Wow! This is a revelation. And what I like is that I don't need an hour to do this. ( I practice one hour per day @4.00 pm ). But this I can do; in the morning. Thank you
I'm the same, but opposite. I teach piano, and just got the guitar, and what the hell? 😂 knowing theory and a different instrument just isn't enough. I've had quite the time trying to play the guitar. Although, scales are easier on the guitar, because the shapes are all the same. Chords are a pain in the rear though.
I'm assuming you mean for digital production like with a DAW? Theory is incredibly helpful for that, and just learning your scales and chords. Experiment with them as much as possible. The practices he showed will help you a lot with general technical capability over time.
Your enthusiasm is infectious, thank you Josef congrats with your baby, I'm a 39 year old dad learning piano with my 7 year old girl, will donate to your channel happy holidays.
here's a few things to try Don't have a long to-do list Avoid multi-tasking Do most important tasks first Simplify and de-clutter (I discovered these and why they work from wilfs blueprint system website )
1:57 blues scale practice very nice freedom of movement across piano 2:45 flow exercise 4:20 when you get used to flow with relax traps you can play very fast 4:45 strengthening control of middle ring and pinky very helpful I feel those are weak for me U2 5:40 arpeggio exercises
Right! Lockdown is nearly finished and suddenly I want to practise keyboard again. Bought a keyboard two years ago and only used it a couple times... I will give a try on your course! 🤞🏻
Thanks so much for this!! I see, you as many other players are using the Chordie app - I've purchased it, but for the life of me, even with author's help videos, I can't seem to get it to play nice with my DAW, FL Studio 20 - I've setup loopmidi, and the DAW works, but no Chordie notes....
This was very very helpful. I tried to watch a bunch of different videos for warm ups and they all went too fast and into more "complex" theory... I really enjoyed that this video was attainable for me and I could understand everything even though I've only been playing piano for one month and three weeks now!! I can imagine at any level of piano these are useful practises as well which makes it even better. Thanks so much for creating this 🙏🙏 I was so confused before on what to do when I first sat at my new piano 😅😅
Speaking of left hand, Interesting how there are left handed guitars, and drums and percussion you can just flip the hand pattterns / reverse your setup, but I don't think anyone ever thought of making a "left handed" piano ...actually, probably pretty easy to do with midi
The download of The_Top_5_Piano_Exercises_For_Beginners_Book_and_Way_More.pdf from AWS seems to be taking forever so I'll have to give up. How to I "try again" to download it another time? It just seemed happen automatically when I subscribed to your emails today. Thanks.
13:04 This is exactly the reason why I can't practice. The drills turn into little song ideas that I need to put down in my DAW or remind me of a song that I always wanted to play. *sigh*
Hi! very nice video. what program do you use to show the notes you play on the virtual keyboard and on the staff? thanks for your answer and keep going the good work
Tottaly new piano player here: I HAVE A QUESTION! Might be stupid, but what about the left hand? How do I practise the left hand? Please help. Best regards
"2 minutes is better than nothing" - this was actually incredibly motivating!
That's what she said

I thought _bloody hell, he's fast at arpeggios_ and then realised I was still on the 1.5x playspeed I normally watch videos in. Great tutorial.
Lmao!
Haha it is still fast for me at regular speed 🤣
Count Drunkula I though the same thing...only I was watching at .75x
I usually watch on 2x
haha i changed to 1.5 and the arpeggios went crazy :D

Nice to start ..
I've been playing guitar for a year and just started picking up piano. Never realized how tough this would be haha. thanks for the tips!

Dude, this REALLY helped accelerate on the piano. Thank YOU! Amazing warm up routine. Seriously... exactly what I needed.
Can you tell me whether ur doing each exercise 5 min or 10 min? and each hand gets its own time correct?
I don’t really put a time on anything I do, I just do it til I’m bored and move on to something else.
I do scales hands together and Hannon as a warm up, regardless of what time it is
Do you do these with both hands? And do you recommend using chords other than C once we get comfortable?
the tutorial ive been looking for.... probably the best one on youtube!
congrats on the young one. hoping for you all to have good health.
I'm just getting started and this is awesome. Thank you

Excellent stuff. Thank you very much.
Would be helpful to do same exercises with left hand? Or is these exercises are specifically for the right hand?
Once again fantastic few minutes of morning motivation. Thank you Josef!
You're welcome Bill. I needed a routine like this for myself.
I really enjoyed this simple practice routine! Already feeling the benefits to come in the find muscles. Thank You

Hello, what about the other scales and chords, arpegios ? Do you need to add them to your morning routine too ?
