I am Tibetan, I love India and Pakistan as well. I think Indians & Pakistanis need to live in peace & happiness by sharing these great musics & songs. Leave aside religion, it’s personal, if possible keep away from blind faith, keep away completely from radical beliefs. Learn to live in peace & harmony, enjoy songs & musics.
It's international powers who don't want the unity of India and Pakistan cause they know if there is peace in these two countries then their weapons will not be sold etc etc
I think the citizens of both countries love to live in peace but you can’t control fanatics and govt
Pakistan nationals should pressurize their government to have good relationships with India. After all most of the present generations have their roots in Hinduism and people from both the countries have same traditions and same emotions
And my dear Tibetan brother, please live in peace with the Chinese.
Very beautifully said
I'm a simple man, whenever I see aaj jane ki zid na karo I simply click.
Lots of love from Assam, India. ❤️❤️

Seven Eyes.
Very sweet voice

i have never seen a european or american person (or a native english speaker) speak urdu SO well and clearly; there's barely any accent here and the singing is so melodious!! great job! a great ghazal from my favorite poet.
Hey you may want to look up Fanaa Fi Allah. Group of musicians and artistes who are from Sacramento and sing qawali beautifully. Complete with tabla beats etc. Their earlier stuff is done with a lot of adab.
Who was the lady. Sung very well.
Wonderful Ghazal.Chilled the heart of all Ghazal lover around the world. We all pray for her to stay safe always Insha Allah. ❤
AFAIK she lived in or around Dharamshala and studied the proper technique from a young age, Thiis does not take away any of her achievements in this here style

This lady amazed me. Perfect narration and perfect singing. Wow
Really really amazing!!!
I heard this song while closing my eyes and couldn't even feel that some foreigner is singing it.
Very nice Ms. Tanya wells!!!
Any singer is an artist who has been given a wonderful gift/ it isn't foreign to any human!
Beautifully sung. Truly divine singing. Warmest regards and affections to the Lady. God bless you my Lady.
Borders don't exist when it comes to our shared culture
Girish Jois we have no shared culture. Brave fair complexioned Pathans have no sharing with kalu, sooka, ugly tamil, kerala. Baluch have no sharing with Assamese. So drop the RSS indoctrination. India is a union of nations like soviet union.
Girish Jois Very True real humans are same.
@Lalit singh hardly culture the cultures are as different as they are alike. Eating habits are also apart of culture most of India is vegen. Pakistan has a dupatta culture India has sari culture just because only a few things that are shared doesn't mean we have the same culture
K Sal how dare you disrespect the tamil community you idiot
Giris Jois, 😊🙏❤💕💖 bless you. Please don't be disheartened by the negativity of ignorant imbeciles here. You are right.

Thanks uncle for your kind words, may God bless you 😢
I don't know how to appreciate her. She is awesome
Thank you Lalita Ji.
Bahut khub, Love your singing ♥️
You felt the song more than while you sang. Your rhythm of voice proves that. Music mesmerises our mind and soul ♥️🙏
Love from India, unbelievable and incredible to see, a foreigner can sing melodious Hindi/urdu gazal
Respect frm Indians ❤A big Appulse.
It is pure Urdu and that too written by one of the greatest Faiz Sahib the language though a cousin of Hindi has more nuances and richness derived from Persian

Superb performance
Very beautifully sung by this lovely lady
Urdu poetry is always awesome!
This lady from a western country, is simply outstanding. Even after hearing her numerous times, you still want to hear her all over again. She is truly magical.

Love that she went from singing Smelly Cat to this. Fantastic.
tonight, don’t insist on leaving.
keep on sitting close to me like you are.
tonight, don’t insist on leaving.
oh I will die, I will be lost,
don’t say such things.
tonight, don’t insist on leaving.
just think for a moment, why should I not stop you.
my life seems to leave my body when you get up and go,
I swear to you, my beloved
just agree to this request of mine
tonight, don’t insist on leaving.
life is trapped in the prison of time
but these are the few moments that are free
by losing them, my beloved
let’s not have a life of regret
tonight, don’t insist on leaving
what an innocent, colorful weather it is.
it is the peak of beauty and love today.
who knows what will happen tomorrow,
let’s stop this night, tonight,
tonight, don’t insist on leaving.

This is the first time I hear a western person sing ghazals without making it sound western. Her pronunciation also is spot on, normally I am annoyed by pronounces by westerns.

THERE ARE SO MANY FOREIGNERS SINGING PAKISTANI GHAZALS BUT THIS YOUNG LADY IS FANTASTIC. I MEAN IF ONE WAS TO CLOSE THERE EYES AND HEAR HER YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HER AND A LOCAL WHO FLUINTLY SPOKE THE URDU . I AM TOTALLY BLOWEN AWAY. This is only we say,we Indians say ,we Hindus say. This is what others take the advantage.
Is it me or did she just turned this song even more melodious??
Marvelous! A wonderful performance!
One thing i got to learn from her is we human being can do everything... If a british girl can sing classical Gazhal which Most of indian people cant sing like her... So i think we can do any thing, if we try to avoid excuses... 🙏🙏🙏 She's a great motivator !!👍
I just saw a Swedish girl conversing in Sanskrit and then I thought anything is possible.
G B whats the big deal? You just wrote that thing out to world in english so should I say i am motivated by you brother man. She sang it great i dont think humans have any thing with learning languages.
If you have well power any thing possible doesn't matter where you from
You just need a good teacher to teach you anything possible
I’m listening to this song for the first time and it brought tears of happiness to my eyes. I don’t understand what she is singing but the words still translate into beauty.
She says:
Do not insist to leave tonight
KEEP sitting beside me like this
I'll die, get spoiled left with nothing
Don't talk like this
Don't insist to leave tonight
Think urself, why should I not stop u from going
It takes my life when u get up to leave
I swear to u my beloved
Just agree to this request of mine
DO not insist to leave tonight
Life is trapped in the prison of time but
Only these r the few moments that r free
After losing them let's not regret it the whole life
Do not insist to leave tonight

Our acrimony with Pakistan ceases (actually evaporates) over two things ... our music & food! The lady is no Farida Khannum, who actually set the benchmark for this song, but then, she doesn't need to be either ... she is in her element, and holds her own ground. Such a superb performance. THANK YOU Seven Seas for featuring her! Love from India.

What a song, what a lyries, what a singer, what a music.. Excellent.
Wow!! What a gem!!! Both the vocalist n the composition.
Tanya Wells is British/ Swiss and spent several childhood years living in North India where language, diverse music and culture informed the ears and imagination of this talented singer. Her flexible vocal style (attributed to years of having learnt Hindustani classical vocal) has given her opportunities to perform with world renown artists such as sitarist Anoushka Shankar (Cannes Film festival 2014), soul singer Joss Stone (Mama Stones 2013), Arabic vocalist Natacha Atlas (Ronnie Scotts 2016) as well as lay down vocals for award winning film composers such as A.R. Rahman and Nitin Sawhney. With a double Masters (with distinction) in International Performance Research, Tanya now embraces the praxis of bringing cultures together to tell stories through music.
Was transfixed.
