Honestly, if I were to win a billion dollars in the lottery, I still couldn't justify spending $40K on two dresses that I would only wear one time. It's so wasteful.

@@HannHio-kv1ky I totally agree, it’s why so many famous marriages fail (not all obviously) but they marry for publicity or public image or career boost, and then in a few years it’s over. I’m sure he wants to make her happy and she will be for awhile, until he makes her unhappy then the fights start and pretty divorce.

I think this is one of the little-talked-about reasons why so many athletes go broke.
It’s always talked about that’s why they call the wives gold diggers. Most time when they find love after getting successful this happens. Most smart athletes lock their wife down before college is done.
It’s not the wives… it’s what happens when you take people out of a poor socioeconomic background and suddenly give them millions of dollars. They have no concept how to budget/save/spend responsibly because it’s something they never dealt with. You don’t hear about it in baseball because baseball is a rich man’s sport where athletes buy their way into the game ( and if you don’t believe me, then you’ve never had a kid in competitive baseball through the high school level)
She is actually a close very friend of mine. I know her personally. She bought those two dresses that day with her money because she is also very successful. I guess you just assumed that her husband was paying for it because he's an athlete. It seems as though you've never known successful black people before. Who said any wedding dress had to cost $5000? My friend bought a nice one for only $980. My other friend got a beautiful one for only $400.

More money than sense. Weddings are way over the top these days when I was married “back in the day” my dress was on sale for $100 it was originally $500 and that was fifty years ago. It was a beautiful gown and I still have it to this day.

A wedding planner who does not take clients' budget into consideration is unprofessional and reckless. Hope his clients have all that money. If the wedding dresses exceed budget just to fit his ideal vision, I would hazard a guess that other wedding items may very well exceed budget too.
Ok, would have been good to do one of those follow up clips. If the fiance could have afforded 40,000 then they wouldn't have walked in with 6. 🤔 (I also think Hakeens styling career might be shorter than he wants if he's blowing budgets like that 😬)

The two gowns she chose, were really beautiful and LOOKED expensive. Her fiance is in the NFL and probably money was no object, plus this wedding, no doubt, was going to be filled with NFL players, team owners and celebrities as well....and videos and photos live on forever ! She looked polished, classy and rich.

A lot of NFL players go bankrupt because they spend lavishly and then something happens that ends their career. It’s hard for them to get other jobs because football is all they focused on. They get paid so much because they need to earn enough for their entire lifetime within a short amount of time.
Most NFL players are not at all as rich as they think they are. Most don’t make big bucks for many years and/or go on to broadcast careers. An injury can ruin them. It’s sad, really.

this is one of my favorite episodes! Both dressing are beautiful and I love the rose skirt theme and the slightly ivory and slightly silver colors. I need an unlimited budget too 😂

At our weddings, we would wear 3-4 dresses but they of course would not cost anywhere close to this much. My former friend spent only around $2000 for all 4 of her dresses and they were all nice too.

@@laurellane1721It is a part of our culture. The white wedding dress is for the ceremony. The cake cutting gown is for cutting the cake and dancing. The other is a wedding dress from our culture and we wear that when greeting each table. If you marry a guy from another culture, then you wear a wedding dress from his culture that you can wear during the tea ceremony or when you dance.
