You did a great job of avoiding the extra primer buildup you can get when spraying the cans with the wide fan spray pattern. I plan on doing a series of Bob Glidden cars as I am buying the needed decals, parts, and accessories to do his Pintos, Mustang 2, and his T Birds.
Great build Louie! I like how you did the Glidden car instead of the box art version. Show's the versatility of the kit. I'll have to get some of that primer and silver you used, since I have a few of the older molded in colors kits.
Great video! Built this one back in 74/75. That one is long gone but I have a sealed one sitting on my shelf waiting for attention. Who knows, maybe this will inspire me!
Wow, what a great build. I have this kit that i built a few years back. The ony problem I had, was the body didn't have any place to glue the body to the chassis.
That's a really cool car, I like how the use of the AK paint pens are put to good use, i've not got any yet but must get a few, looks so easy to apply. Red cars can be a bugger to cover I use Tamiya Fine Grey Primer to cover such horrid plastic.
Excellent build. Thanks for sharing the red plastic tip. That has plagued many of the modelers over the years. Like everything paints have come a long way to overcome modeler's issues. Great rendition of a legend. The Stars "N" Bars is always a good Skeem. Bob Glidden was always a favorite to watch.
Bob Glidden was one of my favorites to watch as well. One of my favorite cars he ran was that early eighties Ford Fairmont Futura. He could always draw a crowd.
I have this kit, but instead of a 70's pro stock, I did it up as an 80's pro street... I did it up as a full King Cobra II with decals from Ray's Kits Decals, but with Mickey Thompsons out back, and a Boss 429 with a tunnel ram, A 12-71 Supercharger on top of that, with an Enderle Bugcatcher, and enough Nitrous nozzles and solenoids to launch engine parts into Orbit... One of these days I need to finish it...
I know it’s says “Etch” I was worried as well. I tried this on a junk Chevy truck bed in red first before I tried it. It did not attack the plastic of anything. I applied it just as you see it in my video, no tricks. Thanks for watching.
Another tip I've used for years when I get kits molded in red is to spray the body silver first, then lay your primer down followed by your chosen color. The silver helps block the red from coming through the primer and into your color coats.
I have a old built up of the original fire fighter and a dyno don, and couple of the release fire fighter on the release the the emblems and trim are gone, gas cap is above the body line, the rear wheel walls are hacked out bad, doesn't match the other side, the first one i got i thought some one modify the wheel walls so got another one to check it, the same way, I been doing a lot of research on them lately. You're all ways building the same kits that I'm just getting. Like the 72 javelin, lol Will have to meet up sometime when you're in Tucson
The model came out great. I like you version over box art. Louie do you clean up the ejection pin marks? I like the tip on how to paint over red molded plastic, thanks for sharing.
Such a deft touch with those decals. Are they relatively recent or do they go back a ways? I know working with older decals can be a challenge. This seemed like a "fresh" set.
I just bought them for this build. I only had them in my possession for a few days. Seemed like a recent manufactured item to me. Definitely not old stock. Thank you for watching.
@TheAutisticModeler Think of how much waste you create. Huge can to toss out, all that paint and solvent going out the window. I am far from a tree hugger, but the waste in cans is enormous.
Awesome looking Mustang II, Louie!😎👍
Incredible job Louie! You kept that red from bleeding through the white coat! Great work all around! Love the decal package!
Nice build. Nice work on the paint with taking away the bleed through. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic job. Would love to see Round 2 release this again; and maybe some of the old 74 Pinto Pro Street drag cars...
I have this kit in my stash, thanks for sharing!

Great job once again Louie, that Mustang looks very cool now that it's finished 👍🏼 well done for cracking the red body curse too 🙂👍🏼

That s]silver trick worked out well! Great job on this kit! A contest winner for sure!
Awesome keep up the awesome work
Wow that was REALLY REALLY REALLY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, cool car. I AM a Glidden fan so this build knocked it out of the park!!!! Thanks again.
Great video!

Love it!! Great job on the paint save, good tips!!
Louie, wow! That turned out fantastic, I enjoy your videos anyway, but this is one of my favorites. Thanks!
Thank you!! 😊

Very Nice !!!

Love your builds, allways inspire me thank you
That’s great!! I’m glad I inspired you to build. Makes me feel good.
Excellent job! Just needs a Vega sitting next to it 👍
Good idea. I’ll snap a photo of my Grumpy Jenkins Vega with it.
That turned out great.👍Don't you just love the Duplicolor spray nozzle?
VHT is Duplicolor as well
Very cool that one I would like to do someday
Awesome model and awesome build!

That sounds like an awesome build!!! Please finish it!! Neat
Awesome 😎 build
Great job buddy
In the automotive world, etch primer is a no no on plastic. Some type of 2 part sealer would be better. I enjoy your shows.

I did that in the video. I used the sealer and then silver, then color coat.
@@TheAutisticModeler yea you did, I had to go back and look, I missed that. Looked away too long 🤣
Hello Tim from Box Stock Garage sent me I just subscribed looks like a great channel
Thank you for coming by!! Tim is a great guy!! Tell him thank you for me.

O bye the way I saw a nother javelin on eBay that was molded in red with a orange spoiler
Don't know how you can spray so many coats of paint so quickly without it running like crazy
That has taken me many many years to perfect. 😉. I appreciate your support!!
The model came out great. I like you version over box art. Louie do you clean up the ejection pin marks? I like the tip on how to paint over red molded plastic, thanks for sharing.
I sand mold lines and such yes. Thank you for watching

New to this place. Question is what type of glue are you using, and where can I get it?
I use Tamiya quick set. It’s available at most hobby stores and online retailers.
@@TheAutisticModeler Thanks
Self etching primer is for bare metal, not plastic.
It blocked the red dye in the plastic. To me that’s a win.
Could you avoid saying "COOL" constantly ... please !
I’m sorry. I enjoy myself.
@@TheAutisticModelerCool! 😅
1/2 the paint wasted from spray bombing. But a airbrush for Christ sake.
Thats not really nice my friend.
