I think if the jets wait it out. Play some young guys this year by years end Rutger may have a different out look on the situation and decide to sign. They don’t have to trade him right away they should wait the situation out as long as possible and see where things go because he doesn’t hate the city so I think this is a situation u can reverse

Habs was about to offer 5th for Rutger + Jet 25 1st and 2nd or 3rd, but when Demidov was available at 5th, the offer was off table. Habs also offered 21st + Barron for Rutger, but was rejected by Jets. Wild also was about to offer 13th for Rutger, 1 to 1, but when Buium was avaiable at 12th, the offer was called off.

There is absolutely zero reports mentioning the habs trading 5oa for Rutger. They were probably gonna trade down if demi/Lindstrom were taken and package a piece of that trade to make an offer.

@@Image1Nation Habs discussed with Jets about 5th in different trade down scenarios for Rutger. But when Habs realized Demi or Lindstrom was available, no way for Habs to pass on Demi. Demidov has been Habs target for many years. Habs did offer 21oa + young d + b ranked forward prospect, but was rejected by Jets. Jets GM said they want quality over quantity. So Habs used #21 to take Rutger's teammate.

Rutger McGroarty to the Habs for Logan Mailloux would be a pretty great trade for both. Our team needs a Right Shot Defenceman and Mailloux is that dude. Personally, I would love that trade alot.

dont think the Habs do that 1 for 1 sorry if at all. Habs abundance of dmen is on the left side. Mailloux still in the running as top rightside 1st pairing for the future. Very hard to trade for top 4 dmen

No chance. Habs have no #1RD/2RD with only David,Logan and Justin Barron as RD prospects. At most we can package Barron to make an offer but I doubt the jets even looks at that offer.
