Thanks Kathy, this was a fun video to make. I saw someone else using the soda can bottoms as a mold for clay beads and I thought why not just use the can? Cuz that is the way my brain works.🙃 Have a great week.
Hey Cindy, I love these ideas. The pendants are pretty cool. You should get those little pink silicone finger covers at dollar tree to save your fingers while rolling the beads...good for smoothing hot glue too. How are you doing ? I see your fur baby couch is holding up well.
Hi Deby, Thanks for the tip on the finger covers. Rolling the beads hasn't been too bad but I frequently seem to get into trouble with my glue gun. I will be on the lookout next time I am at the dollar tree. Have a great week.

If you don't want the metal duct tape obscurring the colors on outside of the beads, you could try attaching strip of double-sided tape to the inside of the metal triangle instead of the outside.

The other thing is that you want to make sure the tape on the end of the bead wraps all the way around the bead at least once. Thanks for watching.
If you would have cut or filed a small notch for the eyescrew to inset, it would have saved a lot of hassle. A small file and a razor tipped tool would give you the notch you need. That way, it would fit nice and tight and clean.
I was also wondering if it’s necessary to be concerned with sharp edges. Thanks for asking for me! In case you wanted to be extra careful, I use sandpaper to dull the edges. It works well and doesn’t take long at all.
I had the volume off so that I could watch this while in line so I don't know ur thought process for some of the things ur doing but I like the bottle caps I keep them the way they are and pour resin in them with little things like I bought this packet of small items that are super cute like little lemons 🍋 and small flowers things u would put on maybe nails and I put them in there and do a picture on the other side or inside it and have done one like a locket lead works better as a weight for the bottoms and I again would melt some zink fishing weights and do a thin line then do like a compass that works or pictures and makes it more of a locket then just a weighted whatever it was that bead thing was intresting my favorite thing for using cans was I got a butterfly 🦋 cut thing from sizzle so u run it through it cuts out tons of butter Flys then I used the stamp it came with and do the insides of the butter Flys I like the metals looking ones some a did a transparent paint blue which kept the metal look so the look like the shinny blue morphs that I then did black on the stamp to fill in the markings and lined my ceiling with them doing differnt size makes it look like they are flying a distance away hanging with fishing line helps to make them look like fluttering some I did a spring cutting the body from the wings the spring when the ac kicks on it looks like they are flying in action I have the back room to going out side on back deck pergola so they look really pretty 😍 I saw a bunch at a museum once and was like I want my own fairy land of butterflys 🦋 I also did some in acitate with a sheer look to them in the monarch ones I use a orange 🍊 transparent on the one side and then the black markings on both sides to give it a feeling of real I have seen the birds try to take them on a tree I have them hanging from but it always look like they are flying we have a tall house and fence line so over some areas we did fishing line to keep the birds out of the garden and I hung the bytterflys for a tea party on them it was magical so we left them up storm's make it look so amazing 👏
How fun your butterflies sound lovely. I have been interested in a sizzle type cutting machine but I haven't ever used one. Its just another wish list item right now. Thanks for watching. Stay crafty. 🙂
Hi Connie - sorry you are having trouble. My suggestion is to use longer pieces of tape you want the tape to wrap all the way around the bead at least once. If that still doesn't work you could try a different brand of tape. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Hi thanks for watching. The cans are cut with just the regular fine point blade. Here is a link to the tutorial I made for using my Cricut to cut cans. ua-cam.com/video/8VBhZV_Ji7E/v-deo.html
Tears ago when I worked in a body shop I used the bottom of a spray paint can. I sprayed silicone in and filled it with Bondo when it cured I removed it and put more Bondo back in and added the piece I already made before it cured which stuck both together when it cured I lightly sanded and painted it red I think and drilled some holes and applied a little Firebird emblem I had. Then I drilled a hole in the top and bottom screwed and epoxied 2 tiny eyebolts and put a chain on top and a little feathery keychain on the bottom and had a wizards pendant for Haloween. :),
Rachel the beads aren't what I would call sharp but they aren't smooth and glossy either. I would describe them as a little scratchy. I hope that helps to answer your question. Here is some additional information that might help. ua-cam.com/video/uKRd750NlRE/v-deo.html Thanks for watching 😊

Are the edges of the rolled beads sharp?
Hi thanks for your question. I have not really found them to be sharp once the bead is rolled up.

Is the joint compound heavy?
It does add weight but I don't think it makes the item too heavy. But you can make the project without it too if you prefer. Thanks for watching 😊

I keep having trouble with the tape still coming undone even with glue.
Hi Connie - sorry you are having trouble. My suggestion is to use longer pieces of tape you want the tape to wrap all the way around the bead at least once. If that still doesn't work you could try a different brand of tape. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
salve molto interessante c e un tutorial per vedere come tagliare con la cricut maker? che impostazioni e che tipo di lama usare?
Hi thanks for watching. The cans are cut with just the regular fine point blade. Here is a link to the tutorial I made for using my Cricut to cut cans. ua-cam.com/video/8VBhZV_Ji7E/v-deo.html
I have that bead roller from Hobby Lobby.
Good to know. Thanks 😊
Interesting. I am always happy to here about others folks using their creativity.
I love watching you make these interesting things. I would cut myself for sure 😁
Hi thanks for watching. Its not as dangerous as it looks.🙂🙂
A very good burnishing tool is a knitting needle.
Hi - thanks for the tip 🙂
Just a thought to show end product first so People know what they will be making in the end.
Hi Sandra - thanks for your feedback and for watching. 😊
Are the rolled beads sharp?
Rachel the beads aren't what I would call sharp but they aren't smooth and glossy either. I would describe them as a little scratchy. I hope that helps to answer your question. Here is some additional information that might help. ua-cam.com/video/uKRd750NlRE/v-deo.html

@@UpcycleDesignLab Thank you!
2nd project. We used plaster of paris and hair pins
I love the ingenuity and using what you have. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Olá. Só uma dúvida e preocupação.... Não sendo direitas e feitas de alumínio,não cortam dos lados,já que não são direitas?!!! Ao passar os dedos, pode se cortar. Aguardo resposta. Obrigada, bjssss Portugal
Hi Paula - thanks for the question. In my experience the edges are not really dangerous. I haven't ever hurt myself. I think you could get a pretty good paper cut if you handled the pieces wrong but the pieces aren't really hard to work with. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
@@UpcycleDesignLab pois...nem tradução. Fico na mesma. Bjsss
