    I tend to by intimidated by blue eyeshadows (never truly learned how to use them well) But that dark blue eyeshadow is actually really gorgeous!

      I agree, it almost looks black. I do love how versatile this palette can be

    I have nothing blue in my collection but by seeing all the blue looks this year I am really tempted! Love your look, it’s on the more subtle side which I adore :) I think I will get this one ( I already have the pink one, absolutely stunning and ordered the coral one), or the blue Hermes quad.. maybe both ;)

    I have 30 Montaigne and it's lovely. But I would have seriously considered the blue one if I had seen this review. Using all three blues as a liner was genius. and I liked the way you use it as a subtle topcoat with the look. Thanks for the video!💚

      You’re very welcome Deborah 🥰 30 Montaigne is also a great choice, it would create a beautiful evening look. You could also use those shades as a liner as well since the shades progress from lightest to darkest, I’d start with the black shade in that palette on the outer corner and layer the other shades much like I did with the blue palette in this video then you could add that gold shade in the inner corner. I think it would also create a beautiful and subtle look if you didn’t feel like a Smokey eye look. That’s the beauty of these palettes, you can really create numerous makeup looks with the same palette 💕

      @@SaraElBaff I did two looks last night when it was delivered. I wanted a subtle, yet elegant look. Plus I think the center shade in that palette has gotten a bad rep. It has a beautiful satin finish and a nude pink shift. So I started with that all over the lid up into the crease. Then when I used the charcoal as a transition shade it was softened a bit. Same for the black when I used it with a light hand for the outer vee. I first went in very lightly with a finger and tapped the silver on one eye and the gold on the other. Two beautiful looks with a black liner on top and the charcoal underneath. I used a different satin metallic in the inner corner, and I'll stick with that. But I went in with a bit more silver and gold on the lids and I ended up with enough glitter that you'd be able to light up a football stadium, just by blinking. So I'll be very careful using this palette. It is very special date night or Christmassy. It isn't really office appropriate in many settings. I have Icone with the embossing coming soon. I haven't tried that color. But 30 Montaigne plays very well with a deep red lip. Hope I like the color on. I had a hard time finding any reviews of it.

    You are right that the blue palette is not the one people will wear daily basis. Even you knew that almost all beauty UA-camrs reviewed only the blue palette (I just saw one review with the pink quint) you have chosen to review the same less wearable palette to show how you can make 3 eyeliners with the navy/blue shades and actually use the 2 pinky/nude, aka the neutral shades. What can I say? Congrats!
    P.S. I think is more cost effective to use a blue pencil and buy a wearable palette with shades you know you can use them all with or without a blue pencil.

    • @SaraElBaff
      @SaraElBaff  Місяць тому

      I actually had my heart set on reviewing the pink quint but unfortunately it was sold out by the time I was able to go online to order so my next choice was the blue palette. Thank you for the comment, I really was hoping to create something different. You’re right it would be more cost effective to use a blue liner. There’s just something about the sequence of 3 different shades of blue to create a liner that makes it look unique. You can try it with any 3 similar sequential shades, it’s very pretty.

    The Promenade lipstick looks gorgeous on you. I had the old Promenade (before reformulation), and it was darker and a bit more brown. I was hoping to see more of a blue smokey eye look with this palette. What I did notice is that most beauty bloggers have brown eyes, and blue looks fabulous with brown eyes. I have green eyes, so blue does not really compliment me eyes. Think I will skip this collection and wait for the holiday collection. Your videos are always high quality, and I like your reviews.

      Thank you for your sweet comment 🥰 I appreciate the support and am so glad you enjoyed the video. Blue looks so good on those that have brown eyes, it really makes the eye color pop. As for the lipstick, it seems that they changed the shades with the new formulation, I’ve been loving their new Rouge Dior formula so far 💕💕

    Sara, I don't know whether you are aware that your make-up barely shows up in your videos. Grace, from Everyday Edit recently posted a video on how she has to change her everyday make-up so that it can be seen on her videos. I feel this may help you out. I was watching this video on my tablet and it just looked like you had black liner on your eyes to start with. The rest hardly showed up either. When you applied blush/highlighter, I couldn't even see it nor tell you what product it was. Applying make-up for a video can't be subtle like everyday looks. It needs to be amped up so we can see what you're doing. Another suggestion would be to zoom in when applying the eye look. You did all of that work on your eyes, yet I couldn't see any of it. When you showed the four Quints, I couldn't tell which one you were wearing. I sincerely hope that Grace's video helps and explains what I'm referring to.
    Ever since Dior has done it's reformulations, I haven't bought any of their Quints due to the poor quality and lack of pigmentation. You're right, I do have all of these shades already. I can't understand that with so many not purchasing from Dior now, why they would pull a stunt such as hiking up the prices like this. I have seen another use this palette and it did appear pigmented, but I'm not about to pay such prices for a brand I cannot trust anymore. I do like the Addict Lipsticks and Cases too. I will endeavour to purchase a Case and a shade I choose to put in it. You don't need to purchase the shade that is new to go in the Lip Case. You can simply buy the Case on its own until you feel like buying a shade that interests you. It's a big ask to expect customers to buy four highly priced Quints, Nail Polishes and Lipsticks that will have to be limited releases. We've just had the Chanel Collection released in which I purchased the two Baume Essentials, a Nail Polish and an Eye-Liner. As much as I would have liked a few more liners, it wasn't possible financially. Now, Dior thinks this is a good time to drop a big Collection such as this. They aren't reading the room. It would cost close to AU$1,000.00 to purchase this Dior Collection. We've been charged more than US$78.00 for quite a while now, even higher for limited Quints since last year. It looks a nice collection, unfortunately it's just not for me. Can't wait to see you really get stuck into that blue Quint!😉
    Take care, Kris.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

      I have to disagree I was able to see her makeup and I would prefer she applies it the way she would wear it in every day life. I also watch EveryDayEdit and I think her application is way too heavy.

      @SaraElBaff  Місяць тому +3

      Hi @krisushi1! Thank you for your feedback. I love to hear others perspectives as this is what makes my channel a community. To be honest I’ve always felt that makeup should be used to enhance beauty instead of covering it. This is why I apply products sparingly and prefer to apply makeup as I would on a normal day or otherwise if a look is targeted for an evening out then I would go heavy handed. Prior to starting UA-cam I would be impressed by those that blended makeup seamlessly so you don’t know where one shade started and the other ended. In my opinion that’s how makeup should be worn. It should be in harmony with your skin. I take my time blending my base makeup prior to a video so it seems like I have no makeup at all. I also love paying attention to different makeup application techniques. There’s so many influencers these days and most do the same thing, I hope to present something unique to my audience and at the same time promote natural and classy beauty. With this particular palette it reached the US much later than other countries and I know so many influencers have reviewed it and if you notice most created an all over Smokey blue eye look. I really wanted to purchase this palette but I thought to myself how could I present it in a different way? Otherwise I would be wasting my viewers time who most likely have watched other reviews for this same palette. I do agree that my lighting could be better and I’ve reduced the lights much more than my prior videos. I can certainly zoom my camera more next time 😉 Hope you have a wonderful week 💕
