I normally find these stories kind of cheesy and not at all frightening, but number 2 from this episode was really good. Maybe the best story of this kind I've heard so far.

Why do these stories always say "I never told anyone" If that was me I would be telling everyone nearby.

Yeah but still. I guess it also depends on the background of how you're raised. The amount trust in my family doesn't go farther than how far i can throw a 100 lb sack of flour (which i can't do at all), so i know I personally wouldn't tell anyone, because they wouldn't trust me and would think me crazy.

Years ago I was chilling with my family until we heard a blood curdling scream. We wanted to go out and go in the forest and see what it was but something told us NOT TO GO OUT. Idk if it was a cougar, a coyote or a skinwalker. Here is where it gets weird, the next morning we saw scratch marks on our front door like something was trying to get in. Like a animal or claws. Then a few minutes later we heard a women or a person yelling “ SOME ONE HELP ME PLEASE “ “HELP “ but the forest is like a sinkhole so I don’t know how a person would dare to go down there at night without a light source. What made it scary was that it was nighttime and I heard that skinwalkers come or hunt out night. I wanted to go out and see what it was but that feeling of something saying DONT GO OUT. We still Live at the house where we heard it. I now now not to go out and go in a forest at night.

OMG I have a similar story however this is also similar to the first story I'm a member of girl guiding whenever we go on camps we mainly sleep in tents however these tents have been around for 20+ years and there of lots of breaks in the tents (rips, poles broken etc). I'm part of the older group (age wise) and nearly every camp the 10-13 yr olds wake us up so we resorted to telling them scary stories so their scared to sleep for a bit and then they get really tired and then they don't wake up at like 4 am. We told a story about Sw's as we were near a forest, this woods has a grave yard so while my friend(I'm gonna call her Tessa for privacy) told the story I said quite dumbly "You know the graveyard that's filled with the victims of the Sw's and a lot of them are guides" (I wasn't lying about the guides bit but it's the graves are from ww2 when guides helped in the war) then 11:30 comes around our leader says "Go into your tents now girls" so Tessa said "Ok Go on girls or the sw will get you" obviously when you tell a bunch of 10-13 yr olds that a sw is in the forest their gonna sprint to their tents so we laughed while they did that before walking in the opposite direction to go to our tents. It's now 1:00 and we hear it one go our girls screaming her head off and banging on the tent door I looked at the door and then looked at my mates "Ffs just leave her she'll stop bugging us" (now depending on which girl it was I would have opened the door) we then heard the scream again but It sounded like it was coming from the forest. my first thought great now she's pranking us then I hear the zip undoing of the tent and the girl who I thought was screaming walked in she was crying I go "What's up" she says "I keep hearing something that sounds like me screaming" we heard it again I pulled her into the tent and Tessa started comforting her as I shut the tent quickly grabbed a box of matches and a knife as the older girls we keep the fire making stuff and some spare little knifes that would hurt if you stabbed something but It wouldn't kill someone. I grabbed the heaviest bag and grabbed a clip that was on the bag and put it threw the little hole in the zip I looked at the girl and she asked "what is that" and I looked at her "Are the other girls asleep? are you the only one awake? Did you zip up your tent?" she looked confused "Yeah I'm the only one up and I zipped up my tent" "Good try fall asleep nothing will happen if your in this tent" she fell asleep shortly after that and Tessa asked "what was that" I said "I don't know Tessa but I will stab it" despite not liking most of the younger girls I am very protective of them and I have a very strong maternal instinct. we would hear the screaming maybe 10 times before we fell asleep morning comes it's 8:30 maybe 9:00 I didn't check as my first instinct was take the knife check out the tent which I did 3 claw marks of dirt were on the back not ripping the tent but they were there. I wake up the girl who slept in our tent and told her to sprint to her tent and to not stop. The leader calls us all for breakfast me and the other 5 older girls not including Tessa who was still comforting the girl she was still shaken up (rightfully so) decided to look at the forest what horrified me was footprints (big ones) which turned tiny and then hands and feet and then it looked like squirrel prints we ran out of the forest and acted like nothing happened for the next 4 days we discussed it on the last day and I didn't have the heart to tell the girl what we saw so when she asked what it was again I said "Just a bird that mocks screams must have heard you on the zip line" "Ohh ski so I was scared of nothing" this is the first time I've ever written/told someone outside of that camp 2 of the girls who came to the forest with my quit 1 week later

I am a Navajo born on the reservation near Colorado. Not all skin-walkers are bad. There was once a white wolf bigger than any wolf I have ever seen. I know it was a bad idea but I named it Niji. One day Niji came and got me to follow it. I followed Niji and came across a lady who Passed out when I have seen the lady. Niji just left. I heard Niji say thank you.
But don't skin-walkers have to murder their family in order to transform and go against their totem? At least that is what I've heard. Sorry if this is invalidating your experience, I'm just trying to learn about Native American culture

@@tabatha45morris53 That's new information. I don't know of Navajo's lore surrounding skinwalkers, so maybe depending on the tribe it can slightly vary. I only know of Canada's native american lore about cryptids. Interesting it says to become a Wendigo, you have to commit cannibalism or be possessed by a current Wendigo. There is also another creature similar to the Wendigo, Wekigo or something like that (not sure of the spelling) which apparently is often mistaken for the Wendigo. Knowing the media (where I got my information from), it is possible for mix ups to happen

Last summer a buddy and I were camping 20 miles in the middle of nowhere near Green River, Utah. We had a weird feeling about this campsite all day. Dusk had finally arrived and a family of four set up camp a few hundred feet from us. Night eventually came and we had trouble falling asleep because we were hearing noises around the tent all night. It sounded like a subtle shuffling around in the sand. I had finally fallen asleep and at around 2 am we heard car doors quickly slamming and the other family sped out of the campsite. They left so fast that we heard them kicking up gravel down the entirety of the road. I thought this was weird but I went back to sleep. I had to exit the tent to go to the bathroom at around 4 am. I walked past the campsite into this small ravine entrance and saw a black figure sitting on the rocks about 50 feet in front of me crouched down. I didn't have a headlamp so I couldn't make out any details. I ran back into the tent and began hearing the sand shuffling noises again around the backside of the tent. Nothing else happened that night but I went to where I saw the figure that morning and nothing was on or near that rock that could have resembled what I saw.

Anyone worried about being hunted by skinwalkers, you are okay. As long as you do not speak negatively about them. It’s okay if you say skinwalker/skinwalkers when trying to inform or make someone feel better. If you feel you may be hunted, get protection as soon as possible.
I can't tell if this was true from my experience (my sister passing)
I heard my sister crying for me and I assumed she had a nightmare so I went into the bedroom and she got out of bed and hugged me I was so confused bc she hates touch and I never talk negatively abt them so I took a better look and ask what's wrong. She looked pretty diffrent but I assumed bc she was tired and she also sounded a little diffrent and a bit creepy her eyes more widen telling me abt some creature but it sounded like a normal dream to me and I ignored it so I put her to bed and left the room to get a drink. To see my sister dead at the bottom of the stairs blood gushing out. I stayed calm bc I realised what was going on and entered her room to see whatever the fuck it was. and the window was smashed to bits nobody there. But the kid downstairs was my sister from dna but whatever that thing was it wasn't her. And my sister is super weak so she can't just break a window and jump out. And nobody was awake at all at that time so how did she end up downstairs full of blood like that. And it's not rlly stairs it's just 2 steps our house is a bungalo and has 2 steps it's not possible for someone to die if they trip on one. And she was abt 2 feet away from them. From then we had to move and I still hear her crying sometimes but i ignore it bc my safety. I'm not sure what that thing was there's no way to explain it.
Knifes are also kept and other dangerous things in a safe so she couldn't accidently hurt herself. Which is more confusing

As a man of Navajo descent, let some education shine. The belief is that a skinwalker is a human who commits a taboo to leave humanity behind. Killing a family member, eating them, something of the like. Many pelts are used to perform rituals and whatnot but there are some types of pelts from animals that are forbidden. Skinwalkers, after committing that taboo, can wear the forbidden pelts, and use them to become said animal. It’s generally believed if a Navajo was wearing those types of pelts Or articles of animal bodies, that person is believed to be a skinwalker. Skinwalkers also hate people. They’re called devil spirits because they torment people, be it harassing them, attacking them, or killing them. Reports vary. But yeah.

It is true that we aren't supposed to talk about them so openly, skinwalkers are a serious thing that we take seriously, as a native american, I've experienced it before and it's truly terrifying and traumatizing. Around 2 years ago I had my girlfriend over and we were watching a movie in my room. I lived with 4 other people at the time with our dog and 3 cats. It was 3 am exactly and all of a sudden my girlfriend looked at me and asked, "Did you just hear that?" So I paused the movie and the house was piercing quiet with no lights on other than my TV. At first I thought she was just messing with me since she usually does that to freak me out. But this time it was different, I did hear something. I heard a faint whistling in the kitchen, it sounded like an old nursery rhyme. I thought it might have been one of my cousins messing with us, but they usually turn on their phone flashlight to see in the dark since we lived in the middle of the woods so it was pitch black after nightfall. But it couldn't have been them since everyone else in the house either had school or work early in the morning so they wouldn't be up at this time. After a few minutes the whistling got closer to the point we could hear footsteps, but they weren't human-like. So out of curiosity we looked it up on google which led us to Reddit stories. It was the stupidest thing we've ever done. Go ahead and look it up for yourselves, whistling in the middle of the night. When the whistling kept getting closer to my bedroom door, I quickly turned off the TV, and the whistling and footsteps stopped immediately. We both knew not to make a single noise, we just sat there staring at each other with pure fear in our eyes. We sat there for an hour in almost darkness other than our phone lights. Nothing happened, but what would have happened if I hadn't turned off my TV? This was the scariest moment of my life, nothing like this has happened again to us. But, once my girlfriend and I got our own place together in a different town a month after this situation happened. My girlfriend was getting out of the shower in our master bedroom and she runs out of the bathroom completely terrified. I of course asked her what had happened. She said she heard someone sigh behind her and saw a figure in the mirror. I know everything sounds dramatic, but my girlfriend strongly believes she is being haunted. We've had many occurrences like this but I won't keep babbling on about these things. But, don't take scary stories lightly, because they could come to you.
