”POODLE RIOT” is a single from the upcoming album ”TENANTS OF MISTY MANSION (ACCORDING TO THE LANDLORD)”which will be released on October 18.
POODLE RIOT is a piece combining Western classical music with the high energy and propulsion of post punk and pulse-based minimalism. Built on a repetitive chord structure, it was originally composed on commission especially for the Malva Quartet, but in this version Störby Jutbring adds his intense piano playing.
”This one room in my mansion, is totally dedicated to poodles. Big, medium, small, white, gray, black and pastel colored, Poodles, poodles, poodles. I grew up with an amazing poodle who has had the greatest importance in my life. My loneliness made him a brother from another mother. I was fifteen when he died (he was sixteen) and it was my first real sadness. Nowadays, being hopelessly allergic to dogs, I love watching them happily thrive and make their evil plans in the mansion. And of course, starr in my video.”
POODLE RIOT features Swedish Malva Quartet (Linnea Viklund, Knapp Brita Pettersson, Maria Jonsson, Maja Molander) as well as Per Störby Jutbring on the piano.
