Sounds like an exciting video! Testing 20 budget studio monitors must have been quite a journey. It's always helpful for musicians and producers to know which affordable options deliver the best sound quality. I’d love to hear which monitor you crowned as the absolute best and why!
If you're not a professional and earning money with your music, get the Kali IN-8 and you will be more than happy... beats even some much more expensive speakers. They're just not particularly loud, but they're great for the nearfield. I first used them with my Motu 828es and I thought the sound was good. But then I treated myself to the RME Adi-2 Pro and oh boy, it's a whole new world now. This thing is insane. The sound is now 3D-like with a much wider stage and very clear placement of the sounds in space and depth. It's unbelievable what a good DAC can do and unfortunately even expensive sound cards don't have good DACs built in.
kali lp-6 v2 might have a decent bass, but who needs bass in a studio monitor? if you want bass, just get a subwoofer. monitors should be flat and boring.
But what if a prospective client listens with real speakers and you had mixed on your phone? Jus think how many people won't get hired because of your guidance
yamaha hs5 is overrated, the harsh highs literally make my ears bleed. no way it's good for critical listening. just get cheap gaming speakers, they’re all the same lol

You keep saying Presonus E5 but showing the ERIS 3.5 🤷🏻♂😆

people sleeping on the presonus eris e5... it has way more low end than the kali lp-6 v2, but no one talks about it because it's not 'trendy.'
presonus eris e5 is the only one with an actual soundstage. the rest of these monitors are basically mono compared to it.
Thanks for it ❤
Nice video. Thank You for sharing this information.
Thanks for this video
why is no one talking about the hiss on the jbl 305p mk2? it’s basically like having a constant static noise while you’re trying to mix. unusable.
Very informative video
Honestly this video is very interesting
Kali’s are awesome monitors for the price point. I got rid of my Yamaha 5 for them. If you have Kalis you know. If you don’t you better find out
Nice video
nah, mackie cr3-x has the best bass out of all of these, don’t @ me. it’s small but it hits harder than the kali lp-6, no contest
Too much background music, didn't understand what you want to say
mackie cr3-x has more punch than the yamaha hs5. change my mind.
i swear, yamaha hs5’s sound the same as car speakers. save yourself the money and just use your car’s sound system to mix.

Having more bass extention doesn't mean they don't have a flat frequency response...
What is with all the MDF and ABS plastic enclosures these days? I want a SOLID Black Walnut enclosure with 1.5" thick walls for my monitors!
yamaha hs5 is only popular because of the white cones. it’s all hype, no real substance behind the sound.
kali lp-6 v2 is trash if you’re in a small room. that bass is way too overpowering, no way anyone with neighbors can use these.
honestly, the only true monitor here is the yamaha hs5. everything else is just pretending to be professional but failing miserably
jbl 305p mk2 is basically a downgraded computer speaker. you can’t convince me otherwise, no studio should ever use these.

why do people even care about frequency response? just listen to your mix on your phone speakers, that’s how most people will hear it anyway.

bro mackie cr3-x has better mids than anything else on this list, I don’t care what anyone says. it’s just better for mixing guitars and vocals
I've never heard of "bro mackie". Is that a new company? ;-)
