- December 11, 2003 - Nary a month into his NBA career, 18-year-old LeBron James was already well on his way toward establishing himself as the league's youngest superstar. Here, James wraps up a victorious 23-point & 9-assist performance against the eventual NBA champion Detroit Pistons with a well-timed block on Richard Hamilton.

This mfer was only 18 playing against the eventual NBA champs that season. The poise and grit he had at such a young age is admirable.
Nah this wasn’t the full Detroit team, Rasheed didn’t get there until about mid season
Doesn't really matter about RW. They said this kid LBJ couldn't play in any era with any rules. Please stop with the madness. Point guard in power forward body. Rookie yr weight 245,250 run lile a 🦌 jump out the gym and a pass first guy.

Outscored by a bench player in the finals
Lebron started off as an All star.
But he didn’t make the all-star team his rookie year.
He was doing this straight out of high school. Jordan could never.
Why are you bringing up Jordan in a video that has NOTHING to do with him?
Is that why Jordan got outscored by a bench player in the finals? Oh wait. Troll
@@boblangford5514 cause he's one of your fellow Lebron groupies
@@nonamewillbegiven9989 Why are you stalking me in every thread? It’s really creepy. Get some professional help. Your insecure obsession is disturbing.
Jordan definitely couldn't do this out of high school, he needed years with arguably the best college coach in the country. LeBron got high school coaching and didn't need Dean Smith
Rookie LeBron might not be better than today LeBron, but is definitely more fun to watch.
He was definitely better lol. NBA just turned into a joke defensively.
he looks more fundamentally sound here
@@LamelKendrickno watch 2018 lebron and he’s so unrefined here

Lol
12:34 Darko 🤣🤣🤣
Crazy his teammates hated on him as well bet they feel honored to have played with a legend
Facts especially Ricky Davis you can see his hate for bron lol smh . Jealousy is something else
D Miles said hopefully LBJ will get on their bandwagon 🤣 🤣
NBA career is short. They were trying to maximize their income, so James taking up usage wasn't good for their earning potential. Why would they feel "honored"? Nobody cares who you played with.
@@thewhitedevilfromthebible5899Ricky Davis is a scrub and nutcase anyways, nowhere near LeBron.
Dude can't even carry the latter's jock
Nope. Lebron groupie
Same thing happened to Magic as a rook. They were just way ahead in talent and iq. Age was just a number for them.
Sheed said he never survive on his era wow 😲
R.i.p Craig 🐐
those pistons would win that 03-04 season.
True!
Yeah, but this is before they got Rasheed Wallace. The Pistons were a 2 or 3 seed in the East without Rasheed, but they weren’t championship caliber until they got him. They were 14-9 at this point in the season.
This upload is of awesome quality. Rarely do vids from pre-hd days get transfered in a resolution and frame rate that I remember watching it at the time. Thank you
A Darko Milic sighting too. Got hung. That was a sign of things to come.
Lebron James is Prove his Haters in this Game.his the Chosen 1.
Jason Terry
if they kept Boozer and find another all star to the Cavs , Lebron would have beat the Spurs at their first encounter
I see that lucky shot often nowadays and for real, that was Steve Kerr commenting. 😯
No one "THE CHOSEN ONE"
One year Romeo Travis is your high school teammate (a fine player, but needs 4 years college to turn pro) and the next year Ben Wallace is trying to block your shot. Kudos to LeBron!

Same Pistons that shut down prime Kobe later that year. Rookie LeBron toyed with their vaunted defense.
Darko missing that dunk 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LeBron playing as PG.
That pre-Sheed (Sura and Rebraca) crew stood no chance against East giants. Thank goodness, Joe Dumars.
For what? Drafting Darko a few months earlier?
What East giants?
Bron and Boozer wouldve been a good ass duo if they stayed together. A young Carlos Boozer was probably Lebrons most talented teammate during his first stint in Cleveland
The way Cleveland accidentally allowed Boozer to slip through their fingers the next season was just a perfect example of the absolutely terrible incompetence front office constantly displayed. Damn, they were awful.
So much to unpack from this video lol
Darko getting blocked by the rim at the end was hilarious
4:33 you can see Boozer hatin on LeBron by trying to stop the teammate from gassing LeBron. that's crazy lol you can even see the guy signal to Boozer to join him.
Groupie
Still was being told to take over and close games by magic and still being told this today
GOAT
He played this well as a rookie against a championship team. The same team that beat Kobe and Shaq.
12:14 Block by James!
3:30 Dummy said Rodney King said can't we all just get along 😂
lol this was the Steve Kerr vs Mike fratello game
I like LeBron's three pointers more at this age. His shot got more flat as he got older.

lebron beat the soon to be pistons champ
Dame Lebron James first win ever came against The teams that won The Championship that year.
Ah that's my bad for poor wording on the title. I meant this was his first-ever win over the Pistons. His first career win was on Nov. 8, 2003 against the Wizards. James had 17 points (8-of-19 shooting), 8 rebounds, and 9 assists that evening. Darius Miles & Ricky Davis both led the Cavs with 26 each.
@@Swove2204 My bad thinking this was Lebron James first win ever. Still beating The Team that won The Championship that year is a good accomplishment The Pistons where a tough team to beat that Year.

I know Cavs fans were happy as hell back then they knew they weren't gonna win anything that year but they didnt care because they had a 18 year old prodigy and they knew they were gonna win eventually

I understand your confusion but this video is highlighting the first time LeBron James defeated the Pistons, the eventual NBA champs this season.
I don remember such shitty old looking video in 2003. Wtf?
Video quality decreases over time.
Lebron would never survive in the modern era. Look at this unathetic truck drivers guarding him
It is honestly sad that this version of Lebron is more fun to watch and better than the Lebron now. Back when he was just playing basketball and not trying to flop on every play.
Bro you don't watch basketball.. Most players sell calls
@@Jjonescp3 not to that extend lol... I feel bad if that's the basketball u are accustomed to but that is garbage man.
@@pochen23 Lebron has much more attention than anyone else so the belief is he’s doing it at a greater rate but that’s false. The average player who is not a star we pay zero attention and nobody notices.
Respectfully disagree with you.
@@Jjonescp3 that's fair and I agree with that. I still think he does it a little too much for someone as great as he is, but again we are putting him under a microscope. Regardless, it was much more enjoyable to watch him as a rookie, his game was centered on skill and less around bully ball and selling calls.
@@pochen23 I can understand that view point. Either way he’s a top 5 player of all time and a decent man and father to boot. The hate he receives is just ridiculous if I’m being honest. I can name 10 athletes that are legit scum bags outside their profession and they get a fraction of the scrutiny Lebron gets, it’s actually sad.
