牛車水從來就沒被 【俗稱為「中國城」】。 這個稱呼是被直接從英文翻譯而成；英殖民時期這地方叫做"Chinese Kampong"，也就是 “華人村”，根本就不是“中國城”。早期的華人真正俗稱這這一帶其實是「大坡」。
天天海南鸡饭其实很一般，光顾的主要都是旅客，非本地人。比天天好的海南鸡饭多的是。麦士威熟食中心好吃的甜品，是花生汤和绿豆爽。
聖淘沙前名是絕後島

是牛车水，不叫中国城，台湾人很喜欢把英文Chinatown 翻译中国城。
早前俗称“大坡”的地区，早年新加坡华人的聚居地。 那一区有真正地名，范围指的是北起克罗士街（Cross Street），南达恭锡路（Keong Saik Road），东临桥南路（South Bridge Road），西至新桥路（New Bridge Road）的一整片地段。
Chinatown 被稱之為 中國城也說得過去啦 china 翻譯成中文是不是中國而town可以稱之為城不是嗎？ 牛車水稱呼的來由是當年聚集在廈門和潮州街的苦力在二戰前夕20年代後期30年代初才開始的，嚴格意義上來說Chinatown的名稱晚清時期就已經有了比牛車水的名稱還要悠久 。

新加坡政府不是整天说新加坡很小，不够土地吗? 为什么不把乌敏岛开发起来，就像圣淘沙一样，或者像新加坡一样。或者可是以把乌敏岛用来养牛羊猪和禽类，种蔬菜水果等等。这样观光客又有新的地方可以去，又可以栽种自己的食物。又有新的工作机会。
如果你有马来西亚那种政府，新加坡真的是不够。新加坡是名副其实的有效率，规划。你不要生在福中不知足。
开发之后就不是甘榜了。
