To be fair, we can say that about any character in the game. Wolverine can kick the shit out of Dark Phoenix in PVP, but in the comics he ranges from fighting the Hulk to struggling against Captain America Though Apocalypse should definitely still be stronger for his Native T2 cost

It's pretty bad when they butcher two native T2s in a row, especially when they're both geared more towards PVP but balanced by someone who doesn't understand PVP. X-23's new uniform underwhelming at best too.

Played the game since release, and this is the first time I’ve not wanted to login at all. My 28 day check in has 2 days this month. The game is boring and redundant as is, then when they release fan favorites who’re extremely expensive that end up being trash, it feels like there’s no point in playing

Being a mutant fan is hard now. The good ones are paywall/season unis or shit. We had X men 97 finale in May and we didn't get a update, I know is because the ones that should get uniforms from the show are Season unis.

I did... I think it's the ugliest in the game tbh. It looks outta place in the game. He's seems short in the review screen and overly large and bulky in game. No real details on the Arabian Knight uniform... Just seems off... Even the size of his head
They rely on the player base to fomo into buying uniforms every update. These tactics worked a few years ago when most of the player base was optimistic for the game. Now that we have an established meta. Each new uniform and character being released must meet a certain level of power. Every character doesn’t have to be a Sentry killer or Luna Snow. They need to be strong enough to be able to stand on their own in the meta especially if they are high cost and high investment characters.
Also if they need more time to balance the characters then delay the updates. I rather wait longer for a character to be good than to have them as soon as possible.

My will and desire to play this game is at rock bottom these days. I was a 7 year veteran of the game, never missed a single login. But over the last few months I forgot to login one day and then it quickly snowballed into me logging in a few times over the course of a couple months. I'm a huge fan of War Machine and when he got his uni and t4 i decided to login in, put everything i had saved up into him, and see how much fun i could have with him. I couldn't even bring myself to finish upgrading him. I just got bored and never finished. I want to love the game, but im just tired and bored...
Pathetic 1500 crystal uni. He is bad for a 1500 uniform alex. For 1050 maybe ok is acceptable but a skipp for 90% of players . But not for a strong cool character like apocalypse. His t3 needs to be buffed damage wise.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm really annoyed at this point, with native tier 2 being garbage at tier 4. It takes a while to build them even more because they require a lot more resources, and our reward is a subpar performance. These are the characters that need to be the most powerful or really, really good compared to tier 1. I have been stacking t4 materials, because most of the new t4s aren't good. I'm using older characters because they're the ones that are getting the job done. They have time to create new ways of monetization, but you can't balance the game? Miss me with that. They're not listening. At this point, it feels like just cash grab
In cases like this, you would 100% need to use a well rolled Brilliant CTPJ plus 4x of the Energy Attack + Mind Damage OBs to really boost his damage to the best possible level. Otherwise just forget about building him cause he only has a consistent 100% All Attack boost from his skills and literally nothing else going for him
Never been more convinced the game is in it's final days. The amount of T4 they have pushed lately with crazy sales, then no effort uniforms and aside from Psylocke, no metas is concerning. It just does not add up or make sense.
You'd think there would be a way to where someone from Netmarble could test these characters out before they release them that way if any changes needed to be made they can make the character good before they put out the update

It seems like it should be easy enough to make new characters - there are like 40 different “meta” characters that are best for an ABX or ABL day or are good in PvP. Making characters that don’t replace something in that meta (or sidegrades that clearly counter a popular PvP character) shouldn’t be rocket surgery. There are also variants in each of those (e.g. ones that do really well on auto play ABX, or ones that are easily accessible to new players). Giving Apoc a special mechanic where he has a huge advantage in the Jean boss fight, for example, would also work. With so much content to pick from and so many places to excel, not having even a niche use is a sad state for a new character.
Releasing dull native t2 t4 characters 50 days before a huge spending event is not the right way. If they kept releasing characters like this then it's gonna end with a 7 letter word. Come on mff do better.

HOPEFULLY with the next update KNULL T4 will calm us down because if not oh boy the community will RANT CHAOS immensely ... I'm really disappointed with the look of the uniform. Compare it to the old uniform, all the little details, the scratches on the boots for example. the new uniform just looks way too sleek.
It's a dumb idea to set so many Native Tier 2s to Tier 4 early like this. Either they push the envelope so hard the NT1s never look good, or you have to nerf them into oblivion (thereby making the added cost not worth it) to keep everything semi-balanced. Do 4 or 5 NT1s then do a NT2 to have a jump (it'll make them look good and people will want to upgrade them)

I started strike force about a year ago, and have played both MSF and MFF daily since. (Played MFF daily for 6 years) And I’m done with MFF. Strike force is expensive to be competitive and has its own issues yeah, but EVERY new character and every reworked character becomes playable in multiple game modes. So when I do unlock these characters and level them I can enjoy them. I’m sick to death of MFF releasing uniform after uniform and T4s for characters that I will maybe T4 day one.. but then use them absolutely nowhere. Even if they are decent in timeline and otherworld battle, which is highly rare because they usually just suck, who cares? That shite is autoplay nonsense that does nothing but consume my phone battery. MFF is unbelievably boring compared to strike force, and I just can’t waste my time clicking buttons for an hour per day and using the same 5 characters to breeze thru lame WBL everyday.
I stop playing some years ago. And it hurt because I was a spender, but it was such a noticeable pattern with NM. Honestly you can look at one of Cyn's videos from about 2-3 years ago and it'll be the same sort of complaint(s).

Anti-Man update basically. Break down though. It's not just that the Crapocalypse Uniform is boring, and emphasize because this is a video game and the idea is to sell fun in people's spare time. It's that this uniform is all there is. That's the update. Everything else is the typical rotation. The Dice Game. The World Boss Event. The Gold Bonus Event. Here's a uniform that isn't very fun to play as and costs a higher amount of Crystals. I logged in with your live feed playing. Updated. Played a little but by that I mean daily housekeeping stuff. Tested the uniform. Got bored with it right away. And since there was nothing else new to do at 8 PM I logged out and watched a movie. Deadpool & Wolverine. Watching that movie is a fun time imo. So turning back the calendar that movie premiers and they released an update for it. There was mostly a lot in that update, as in a lot to do. Outside Deadpool and Wolverine the gains where sort of lack luster. Nicepool. In a movie that had a LOT of popular characters in it to draw from. But it brought in new players, not typical of movies just as it is not typical for movies to gain new subscribers to comic books. Because there was no official game for that movie. In fact there is no X-Men game and there has not been one for a long time (oddly because they tended to be very successful games). So people that liked the movie went looking a for a game based on it and this was more well promoted than usual so they joined. So next here is a costume from Gwenpool from an older comic that did not sell many units. Followed by Iron Man character uniforms, most of them from comics that came around 2010. Not Deadpool or Wolverine related regardless. Iron Man was the only sort of current one. Then Daken and X-23 but again from around 2010 and X-23 from a very obscure mini-series. In all cases not much aside that WBL update were added. In most cases these uniforms were as lackluster as this. They would not garner wins for players. Lastly the long awaited CTP which turned out to be pretty dull. Understand they have the ability to make things balanced so they are choosing not to. It's not what most game makers do. Whether a character is weaker than another in the source in the game they are supposed to balanced. Because it's not for the game, not the movie or comic. It's an asset and the player needs a reason to use it. And? Fun. And more? Current things that people who are paying cash money for the movies and comics can recognize. This uniform is fairly recent in their defense. Is it fun though? So you tell me what's going on? I have a background in game dev and art. I also have one in sales and marketing and have also sold licensed character merchandize including Marvel. The fact is I do not get it. I keep calling them "unorthodox" because I am highlighting these things are an intentional act shy of the character choices which are often up to someone in higher office here. Meanwhile I look at the forums and well I won't bother because it's X-Men '97 already. Of course it is. That's a top trending subject even on this very site. Anyway I just logged in. I'll complete some autoplay stuff and go do my dishes. Not much more to say other than the usual if you have to, especially if you are new and or F2P, wait until Black Friday. Time passes quick and it will be sooner than you think. And then consider if you don't have them buying uniforms that are useful even if they aren't your favorite character. Or? Play a different game. Vote with your dollar. Leave it up to them to make it fun and prove it to you. I consider when the time comes players are going to leave this game for Rivals. And that will depend on how fun it is but it will have the advantage of being fresh that this doesn't. But this could be fresh if they choose to. That Disney IP has a LOT to work with if they wanted to. And then make the game content exciting because they control the variables as much as I do when I program one. "Rather build other characters" That's funny because right after tryping Crapocalypse that exactly what I started doing. There's a Gold Spending Bonus right? So I grabbed Gambit who I have been meaning to build up and worked on him instead. And I was eyeing up Weapon Hex since she was on the Fan Poll list. Because Bonus Mutant mats right now. But yeah.

It seems like it should be easy enough to make new characters - there are like 40 different “meta” characters that are best for an ABX or ABL day or are good in PvP.
Making characters that don’t replace something in that meta (or sidegrades that clearly counter a popular PvP character) shouldn’t be rocket surgery.
There are also variants in each of those (e.g. ones that do really well on auto play ABX, or ones that are easily accessible to new players).
Giving Apoc a special mechanic where he has a huge advantage in the Jean boss fight, for example, would also work.
With so much content to pick from and so many places to excel, not having even a niche use is a sad state for a new character.

Give us more soul of failtine. I have 15,000 carbonadium just waiting to be used and a ton of toons at level 80.

Releasing dull native t2 t4 characters 50 days before a huge spending event is not the right way. If they kept releasing characters like this then it's gonna end with a 7 letter word. Come on mff do better.
I've begged them to rework X-23 also in hopes of they would stop doing these bad reworks and do apocalypse good but here we are. I'm glad my apocalypse is still sitting at lvl 60.
... just by testing his skills I knew right away of the bat that he´s TRASH big time, even the Messiah Complex is better (skills, animation, damage) ... don´t waste your crystals since this UNI is a mix of Old King Thanos (sword and movement but kitty damage) with Fandral and Sword Master movement of their swords GEEZ ... HOPEFULLY with the next update KNULL T4 will calm us down because if not oh boy the community will RANT CHAOS immensely ... I got MAD so BAD they gave the SHAFT to DOOM (God Emperor) that per the comics he killed easily Thanos so give me a break DEVS, get your stuff together ...

I have barely been able to log into the game for the last few years. I don't want to play. It's so boring. I used to play for 1-2 weeks because of the updates but now the updates are so bad. I think I'll stop playing too

I skipped 2 updates for this uni. I grabbed it expecting him to be a monster. Apocalypse is the strongest mutant and this is just bs. This is why they do what they do cuz of whales will buy anything and everything.

I'm really disappointed with the look of the uniform. Compare it to the old uniform, all the little details, the scratches on the boots for example. the new uniform just looks way too sleek.

It's a dumb idea to set so many Native Tier 2s to Tier 4 early like this. Either they push the envelope so hard the NT1s never look good, or you have to nerf them into oblivion (thereby making the added cost not worth it) to keep everything semi-balanced. Do 4 or 5 NT1s then do a NT2 to have a jump (it'll make them look good and people will want to upgrade them)

I mean, honestly, Mood. I appreciate youve been trying to keep it objective and balanced as possible when a lot of us already saw the writing on the wall, but I cant blame you for reaching a breaking point. I said the other day that everyone seems t obe putting all their hope eggs in the zombie mode basket, and I fear it just isnt going to be enough to save it. This rate, if Knull sucks ? we will limp to the 10 yr anniv, and then slowly shut down after that. Sad to see but we going out with a whimper.
I started strike force about a year ago, and have played both MSF and MFF daily since. (Played MFF daily for 6 years) And I’m done with MFF. Strike force is expensive to be competitive and has its own issues yeah, but EVERY new character and every reworked character becomes playable in multiple game modes. So when I do unlock these characters and level them I can enjoy them. I’m sick to death of MFF releasing uniform after uniform and T4s for characters that I will maybe T4 day one.. but then use them absolutely nowhere. Even if they are decent in timeline and otherworld battle, which is highly rare because they usually just suck, who cares? That shite is autoplay nonsense that does nothing but consume my phone battery. MFF is unbelievably boring compared to strike force, and I just can’t waste my time clicking buttons for an hour per day and using the same 5 characters to breeze thru lame WBL everyday.
I stop playing some years ago. And it hurt because I was a spender, but it was such a noticeable pattern with NM. Honestly you can look at one of Cyn's videos from about 2-3 years ago and it'll be the same sort of complaint(s).

Anti-Man update basically. Break down though. It's not just that the Crapocalypse Uniform is boring, and emphasize because this is a video game and the idea is to sell fun in people's spare time. It's that this uniform is all there is. That's the update. Everything else is the typical rotation. The Dice Game. The World Boss Event. The Gold Bonus Event. Here's a uniform that isn't very fun to play as and costs a higher amount of Crystals.
I logged in with your live feed playing. Updated. Played a little but by that I mean daily housekeeping stuff. Tested the uniform. Got bored with it right away. And since there was nothing else new to do at 8 PM I logged out and watched a movie. Deadpool & Wolverine. Watching that movie is a fun time imo.
So turning back the calendar that movie premiers and they released an update for it. There was mostly a lot in that update, as in a lot to do. Outside Deadpool and Wolverine the gains where sort of lack luster. Nicepool. In a movie that had a LOT of popular characters in it to draw from. But it brought in new players, not typical of movies just as it is not typical for movies to gain new subscribers to comic books. Because there was no official game for that movie. In fact there is no X-Men game and there has not been one for a long time (oddly because they tended to be very successful games). So people that liked the movie went looking a for a game based on it and this was more well promoted than usual so they joined.
So next here is a costume from Gwenpool from an older comic that did not sell many units. Followed by Iron Man character uniforms, most of them from comics that came around 2010. Not Deadpool or Wolverine related regardless. Iron Man was the only sort of current one. Then Daken and X-23 but again from around 2010 and X-23 from a very obscure mini-series. In all cases not much aside that WBL update were added. In most cases these uniforms were as lackluster as this. They would not garner wins for players. Lastly the long awaited CTP which turned out to be pretty dull.
Understand they have the ability to make things balanced so they are choosing not to. It's not what most game makers do. Whether a character is weaker than another in the source in the game they are supposed to balanced. Because it's not for the game, not the movie or comic. It's an asset and the player needs a reason to use it. And? Fun. And more? Current things that people who are paying cash money for the movies and comics can recognize. This uniform is fairly recent in their defense. Is it fun though?
So you tell me what's going on? I have a background in game dev and art. I also have one in sales and marketing and have also sold licensed character merchandize including Marvel. The fact is I do not get it. I keep calling them "unorthodox" because I am highlighting these things are an intentional act shy of the character choices which are often up to someone in higher office here. Meanwhile I look at the forums and well I won't bother because it's X-Men '97 already. Of course it is. That's a top trending subject even on this very site.
Anyway I just logged in. I'll complete some autoplay stuff and go do my dishes. Not much more to say other than the usual if you have to, especially if you are new and or F2P, wait until Black Friday. Time passes quick and it will be sooner than you think. And then consider if you don't have them buying uniforms that are useful even if they aren't your favorite character. Or? Play a different game. Vote with your dollar. Leave it up to them to make it fun and prove it to you. I consider when the time comes players are going to leave this game for Rivals. And that will depend on how fun it is but it will have the advantage of being fresh that this doesn't. But this could be fresh if they choose to. That Disney IP has a LOT to work with if they wanted to. And then make the game content exciting because they control the variables as much as I do when I program one.

So I grabbed Gambit who I have been meaning to build up and worked on him instead. And I was eyeing up Weapon Hex since she was on the Fan Poll list. Because Bonus Mutant mats right now. But yeah.
