Heron Preston: Streetwear Designer

Heron Preston is a designer and creative director of his namesake streetwear label, Heron Preston. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Preston worked as a marketing specialist and social media director for Nike. He soon attracted the attention of Kanye West, who tapped him to design tour merchandise. Preston later served as a creative consultant for West's album The Life of Pablo.

what Heron has misunderstood is that streetwear was based on appropriation, we used to flip designer clothing to suit us, the whole point was that it was designed for a specific market that wasn't working-class street kids but we took and made something new and relatable with top quality clothing, look what we did with Kangol, Cazel, Sergio Tacchini, Bally we made it hip, now those brands are designing for us specifically it's lost its edge, it's testament to how we are now mainstream all big brand want to appeal to an urban market on some level, even if they know we have to kill each other to attain it.
