Hello Ramya ji, Yes the pleats will stay in when tucked well just like when we tuck in a whole big piled pleats together in the middle while wearing a normal saree, its stays there. So it's safe you tuck them up well inside.

Yes, that's something we do have to keep in mind, we can always make 2-3 pleats and pin them together overlapping, before we tuck them in waistline. That's a suggestion we can give.
