Adam, you should always watch Nic's video to the very end. He always drops a good one -liner. At the end of this one his line was : " I didn't make a single "Vagina" joke in that entire video. I'm finally maturing."
In case you didn't know, the Hudson Bay Company which was founded in England and created much of Northern Canada was first and foremost a fur trading company dealing in beaver pelts.
Yeah, but feel free to explain the equivalent in government dollars today. If they were to do the same op today, it would costs tens of millions of dollars.
The reason beaver fur was so popular, in the UK especially, was because beavers being aquatic animals, had fur that was water repellent - better than any other type of fur. I'm sure you can understand why that was such an important feature for people living in the UK. 😂
I remember a film called Operation Dumbo Drop with Ray Liotta (RIP good sir). This sounds more like an adult film that fell between the cracks - pun intended! Thank you for a Sunday-treat Adam!
YEEEESSS!!! THANK YOU!!! 😂🤣 ❤ ETA: ok back to calmly say thank you for the fun reaction. I just couldn't contain my glee at seeing what I was in for haha!
The chapter 1 title "Nice Beavers" is almost certainly a reference to the 1988 movie "The Naked Gun." You missed a joke at the end of the video. In the early 1800s, when beaver hats were still fashionable, both the U.S. and the Hudson Bay Company of the UK, which operated in Canada, made enormous profits from the trade in beaver pelts. The desire to control more land in northwestern U.S. and western Canada was a complication in the two countries negotiations to decide where the U.S.-Canada border would be. The video "The Pig War" by "Oversimplified" tells a funny part of this story.
That $30 bucks would be roughly $523 per Beaver in today's US currency. That's still pretty cheap when you think of what the Beavers did for the environment. Of course, will all know because of crazy regulations it would be millions per animal today
I’m 38 yrs old and retired from the US Army. I served with the 82nd and XVIII Airborne. We jumped during the day, night, during storms, during morning, during the pitch black night with storms. Let’s say we’re just crazy man 😂 But Beavers??!!
Speaking of animal drops: A promotion by a radio station in Cleveland once decided to give their audience turkeys 🦃 for Thanksgiving. They tossed live turkeys from a helicopter. Problem: Turkeys can’t fly. The incident became an episode of WKRP tv show.
I've got a 40+ year old Billy the Kidd edition Stetson that's made of beaver, their pelt was common in hat making because of the natural waterproof characteristics
On the Trans-Canada Railroad rides a Beaver Control Officer who's task is to eliminate flooding and undermining of the railroad bedding. He's also known as the "Beaver Blaster".
Oh how funny! You brought out the 12 yr old in me with all your beaver jokes, then I laughed out loud when you tried to slip in the twitch plug with a beaver comment, now I am imagining you streaming in a beaver costume ( either kind of beaver...)
Edit, $30 in 1948 was equivalent to about $380 in 2023, the calculator didn't have 2024. People do things during disaster probably for the same reason as the beaver who jumped at 75 feet: panic. Panic takes away reason in humans, too, especially in any high stress, highly unfamiliar, highly dangerous event. Poor beaver. At least he didn't jump at 30 and just get badly hurt.
Blaming a beaver for jumping off of a box, made out of the same material he's genetically programmed to destroy, 75 feet higher than he's ever been, is fucking insane lmao That doesn't make him stupid, it makes him not want to live to see what's next in that shit show of an alien experience haha
it literally does make him stupid its called natural selection like what? 😂you don't think that animals usually know that falling=not good? its a beaver not a lemming, so yes this one wasn't the brightest. also what the fuck even was that last sentence
Dude! I love your fat electrician reactions, but one thing that drives me fricking crazy is you NEVER go to the outro after the ending music! Wait for it!!!!!
its so sad that they saved the beavers and put them in a place where they could thrive and be happy......😂also 2 seconds before you asked if they were just strapped to parachutes he shows a diagram of the BOX the parachute was attached to. how would they pull the cord on the chute if it was just strapped to them?
Converted to modern value, that $30 would be approximately $523 if you use 1945 or $390 if you use 1950. Definitely not $30 but still very cost effective.
You aint gonna lie ,i want this?!! What did you mean? More tattoos, 😊 you lost me,i got really distracted 😅 😅 anyways i wa s hoping you could do some music videos.. check out sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel. Its an old video but its awesome I just watched another guy who did it he was tripping out😂 😅 i love watching reaction videos. Theres another British guy one here who does reaction videos hes a mess to😊😅
sad? what video did you watch? how is saving a bunch of beaver from getting killed by angry farmers and putting them in a place where they can thrive and be happy sad?
Love these reacts man😂
Thanks brother, your videos are incredible!
I love the channel as well. You always draw me in with just the titles alone.
Have the man on unsub!!!!

He didn't have to make any jokes. Every single one of us were already thinking them.

Beaver hats were all the rage in early 19th century London. That was the start of the Astor fortune.
I love you did this story. The Fat Electrician absolutely nailed this one. I laughed thru the whole thing. 😁
$100 in 1940 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $2,243.35 today so still not terrible. I mean, x3-5 time that, still.
Yeah, but feel free to explain the equivalent in government dollars today. If they were to do the same op today, it would costs tens of millions of dollars.
@@TheTraveler33 Add a few zeroes to that. It'd probably be a couple of billion dollars in government spending.

Beaver fur was worth good money back when beaver fur hats were the rage. Beaver Fur naturally resists water, so it makes hats that resist the rain.
Spent the majority of my 20s (early to late 2000s) in McCall, Idaho. Heard this story plenty of times and it never gets old.
YEEEESSS!!! THANK YOU!!! 😂🤣 ❤

Would change it to 'Murica Airborne Beavers, as my new cover band name. Appreciate another good video Adam, you keep on rollin' man.
You need back-up singers for your band? LOL
We need our Couser-bloke singing some country songs with his cowboy hat, put out an album on Spotify Adam!
I was imagining an all female band!! 😂sorry
Don a wig Chrisb9891 - we'll call you Shirley, and you can be the bassist.

It's the sound of running water that makes them build dams, not the sight of running water. Good hearing & smelling, sucky eye sight
That's interesting. One time I was fishing & a beaver walked right up to me. I got out of his way. I didn't know their eyesight was so bad.

Now you need to watch his DEVIL DUCK !!
LOVE this guy he's just awesome!
Yes!
Definitely! One of my favorites!

Seriously, no more war on beavers. Let beavers manage their own beavers.

You should definitely react to “when marines took a duck into battle: Devil Duck”
Awe you mIssed the end credit scene!
Roasted beaver tails in Bear fat is really good. Get ya some wild rice and wild asparagus and won't wanna eat nothing else!
Not reported was; the witnesses placed in the drop zone, were wearing body condoms, in case the "beavers" started attacking them.

keep em up, i've watched all of the fat electrician videos, lol love seeing your reactions
Hard to tell which one is Adam and which one is Fat Electrician
Adam never heard of Davey Crockett, it seems. XD
I could listen to that guy telling stories all night long.
Still not bad actually, on the price I mean. That $30 in 1950 is about $390 today.
This guy's storying telling always draws me in.
Love his story telling
We have beavers in the US. Lol I see them very often .
His comparaison is so funny i like him 😂
True story and it worked great!
Exactly, the federal government needs some shrinking and to leave us the hell alone for the most part.
Only one word for that... 'MURICA!!!
Adam, you need to watch his sargent reckless and the eager beavers/old 666 videos. I know they are long, but his long form videos are great
Beavers, like most rodents, are very nearsighted.
You definitely need to watch/react to more of his stuff. He is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
Your reaction to shit is great! Test profile pic? Love the fro...
$30 is about $1,300 in modern U.S. dollars. So not pocket change, but very cheap by government standards.
Speaking of beaver, I'm on twitch. Master of the segue...😂
Check out his video on the limping lady the deadliest spy of WW2
Adam is a Stud with great content. 💚💚💚💚
Proud Idahoan moment 🦫🇺🇸
Gotta do the Fat Electrician Jake McNasty video
We do have Sharknado...
$30 back then would be roughly £300 now...
The Fat Electrician, has outtakes at the end of his videos.
Hey Adam I just noticed your second profile picture has you with an afro😂😂😂😂😂
Ya gotta do his Jake mcnasty story , his best one
$30 then would now be almost exactly $400.
STAY TILL THE END OF HIS VIDEOS. Now thats out of the way. Awesome reaction.
Why did you stop the video early you missed the parting joke
Adam you need to watch Fat Electrician The Bazooka Tank or the Ontos
Hell yes!
