I betcha Randy & The Gypsys is an answer to Foster Sylvers & Hy-Tech. Although both projects flopped in the late 80s, Randy had more of a push due to the Jackson family name eclipsed the Sylvers family name.
soulchildsacomin I was thinking the same thing from the opening note. It has that kind of feel to it and it did seem Randy had a slight push. I think folks got hooked on them doing "Hot Line", disco and bubblegum music ... I don't think they were taken seriously.
T had both Hy-Tech,s LP , i thought they were very good, not a lot of airtime or live show,on tv, very bad permotions for them. But i always love the Sylvers sound.
I'd love to see a close-up of his face on this cover. I'd better hit some Google or something. This looks like it's back in the Kashif days, interesting!

Wow, this is modern, huh? Looks like it's from the 80's. Thanks!

Well at least they play Randy music on the RADIO and on B.E.T back in 89
Interesting. I never knew about "The Gypsys", although I knew he had tried his own project. I must give it a listen. Thanks! =)
