White Sox got fleeced. I absolutely LOVE this trade! I'm going to miss the potential that Kyle Teel gave us at catcher, but as a Red Sox fan, I'm stoked! We only had to part with P Gonzalez, who is bullpen at best, young OF Montgomery, INF Meidroth and Teel.....Great trade Breslow! Now let's extend Crochet 👍
Very good trade for both teams. As a Red Sox fan, I'm very happy with this trade. Yes, the Red Sox gave up Teel and Montgomery, but they got a pitcher custom made for Fenway Park, which has one of the deepest and biggest RF's 8n all of MLB.
This is a very good move for both teams. Boston desperately needs starting pitching and this guy is filthy. I really didn’t want to part with any of the top 4 and I would’ve preferred trading Mayer over Teel but since they’re not spending money, Breslow was kinda forced to do this trade. I just hope they give Crochet a nice extension
11:15 - This dude Scott is an absolute clown bagging on Sox fans when he said Crochet was gonna cost Casas, Mayer AND Abreu, and instead the Sox got him without giving up any of those guys. Most Sox fans were objecting to the price tag you were insisting on, not saying that Crochet isn’t a great player. And guess what, they were right and you were wrong.
@@jayG21219 Its a sign of our times. The least think they are more than they really are due to connections, This is why everything is run so shoddy today.
The trackrecord speaks for itself? Lol. He had 70 career innings before this year. Had a 3.58 ERA last year. Not bad but nowhere near elite starter material
Am I the only one not sold on Crochet? This guy has had one healthy season and is being treated like the best starter in baseball. Call me a skeptic but I would not give up that much capital. He needs to do it a few more years to consider him on the level of the best of the best.
Crochet has a filthy set of pitches and in his first season as a starter was extremely impressive. He fell off a bit in the 2nd half bc he was limited to innings which probably threw off his routine. Although the prospects are really good prospects, the Redsox didn't have to give up their very best prospects which is a win. Also Crochet under arbitration will really only get 3-5 million a year unless he goes out and wins a cy young somehow.
"Red Sox ownership is cheap" is such a lazy and trite take at this point. They just finished a rebuild, and it doesn't make sense to waste the most valuable years of some 10 year contract on a team that is unlikely to be a legitimate contender. Now the Sox have *three* top 10 prospects in MLB set to debut in 2025, a major league squad already loaded with young talent, and a payroll that is in great shape for some spending because of the discipline they've shown over the past few years. If they wrap up this off-season with only Crochet, Chapman, and Wilson, by all means, criticize away. But they are obviously going to do more. Even during the rebuild they were never lower than ~$10 million below the luxury tax line and they're currently closer to $50 million under. Absolute worst case they pick up a C and SP, and they likely extend Crochet. I wouldn't be surprised to see more than one extension, and they're still very much in play for Burnes.
Wow this ownership is playing a game trying to be in and doing nothing. Don't be portraying this ownership in any good light after what they did to this team to buy other products. They just played like they were trying to sign Soto with always the least bid knowing Cohen was going to top anything. This ownership is using this team to fund their other toys. This ownership should sell and then they can play with their other assets and see how far they get.
Breslow is an idiot. He got very little for Crochet. Awful trade in my opinion. Just like at deadline. Got very little for Pham, Kopech and Fedde. Awful GM.

AJ the type of dude to order a tomahawk ribeye well-done with a side of ketchup.
All of the teams that missed on Soto will now go crazy to try to offset the so called loss of not getting Soto.
I think soto’s gonna go down as the biggest over pay of all time
No way they extend him. Gonna just hope for the best for 2 years. Basically 6 years of Teel for 2 of Crochet

Yes this guy thinks a bit much of himself for being on a UA-cam podcast. AJ and Eric were big leagers. This guy hasn't done anything.

Scott conflating Jim Bowden's terrible mock trade with this trade is ridiculous. Bowden's trade was awful. this is fair.

They were not planning on winning in 2025 regardless if Crochet is there or not
@ Yah well, most teams plan on winning every year. That’s why you play the game. Maybe one day, the Sox will realize that.

Check out baseball savant. He was the most dominant pitcher in baseball last year.
Red Sox have the best 4 inning pitcher in the history of baseball. They play 9 😢
Lol all the Red Sox have is 4 inning pitchers
He by far set a career high in innings. The White Sox were taking it easy on him exactly so a deal like this wouldn't get destroyed by injury.
Boston is to cheap to compete
Dallas is the most antsy stoner lol
