- Looks like the 19.5% pay raise for junior enlisted troops probably won't happen now... I think the culture wars between the House and Senate may be stifling progress. It looks like there are attempts to cuts abortion, LGBTQ+, and diversity programs as well. I'll keep you guys updated as this continues to roll out.

Billions to Ukraine, no issue… 24 billion on our troops, no way jose. Doesn’t seem right.
They are funding their proxy war, that's why lmao
We do not get a dime, only your Cold War stockpiles.
The money is invested into your economy to order new equipment.
You should also know that the money can be printed for free and used to support the stationed US troops around the world. That’s why the debt is raising.
Don't forget the billions set to Israel on a monthly basis. No wonder it's hard to get new people to join our military.
@@BrickTemplar You have absolutely no idea what your talking about. We have had to ramp up production of ammo and artillery shells because we are sending Ukraine so much. Last time I checked also things like the SRS is a newer sniper system and I've seen videos of Ukraine getting large shipments of those as well.
@@BrickTemplarhaha troll. Clearly your clueless about what is really happening.
I think this would get fixed pretty quick if Congress members and the White House had to live on our pay scales for a year.
they get 100k+ and still are allowed to take bribes...oh sorry I mean take funds from lobbyists.
If only the members of the military could give themselves a sweetheart deal like Congress has where they automatically get their pay raises . Also funny how the cap for pay is set in stone, but when it comes to spending money for their other pet projects, they find a way to get it done .
Why would they? Most have college degrees and do things that impact the entire nation. Most joes don’t do much of anything when not training or deploying.
No members of Congress risks their lives on or off their jobs.@@ironpatriot344
They wouldn't notice it because they've exempted themselves from other laws that we would go to federal prison for like insider trading for example. They sit on committees, they write the legislation that affect the markets, and then they or their immediate family members go and either buy or sell stocks based on the legislation they just helped to write and profit off of it. Anybody that still thinks these asshats are in the business of politics for anything other than their own personal gain is a fool.
Year after year they miss recruitment goals, yet 19% is too much
Honestly, the compensation for the missing recruitment goals can be used easily.
They would rather make every other option you have worse so you feel forced to wage their wars anyway.
19% is too high and retention is in the toilet..BUT LETS TALK ABOUT THE DRAFT....great idea...speaks volumes of where they have their heads..glad I got out after 9 years..
Eh. Let them keep losing until no one joins.
19% is a lot. I'm a vet (E-5 in both the Army and Air Force) and never ever got a raise that big. It was more like [a] 2% raise every year.
We give almost 100 Billion to foreign aid every single year, but 25 Billion is simply too much for the troops over a 4 year period.
Closer to 200b my guy
No money for Americans ,but no caps in giving money to the Ukraine
This is a result of letting LGBTQ have a political opinion
nono, we dont ship a pallet if 100 billion, we give them 100 billion worth of equipment and assets then turn around and buy them back. It’s a great grift if you’re neck deep in defense and energy stocks
Our military is not currently fighting a war.
Why not just make junior enlisted tax exempt at the federal level? Why do we need to spend more money? This isn't hard and shouldn't be politicized. I can't think of another group more deserving.
That'd be great for senior, well established and married service members, but I don't think it'd do much for the junior enlisted. How much are they paying really after the refund comes through? I make way more than what I did as a junior soldier, pay $30k+ in federal withholdings and get back roughly the same amount I did as an e-3.
@bryanknight1056 You are right. Would certainly add some incentives for NCOs at re-enlistment for sure. The 20% for the JE's one way or the other isn't a game changer. The main thing that came to my mind is 1) Congress doesn't have to spend money to solve a problem, that's not how we as their constituents solve problems but we are the ones who end up paying for it. 2) If they really wanted to do it, they'd find the $. 3) They'd rather use it as a fulcrum for other negotiations and re-message the non-result as a positive than solve an issue they can re-visit when they are up for re-election.
@@hamsandwich4451According to manning needs mos. For years I've seen e5-e6 barely get anything for reenlistment and most the time the need to sign another 6 years. It's a big game you play for bartering most guys I seen did get the assignment/unit transfer
Had boots coming 2x bigger or more bonus than almost anyone reenlistment
@@bryanknight1056as an E-3 over 2 years im currently losing around $150 to federal taxes, that would help a lot
Imagine risking your life for your country and still being taxed that's crazy
I’m an e4. I am stationed in a west coast state. I have to do Uber eats after work to make ends meet. My military paycheck is literally just enough for my family to survive without starving. If I want anything else like clothes, car repair , etc I have to drive Uber for it. It’s absolutely disgusting.
That’s why I’m getting out. E-5 here in San Diego, had to work a 2nd job, wife and 2 kids. All of my wife’s paychecks went to fucking daycare. Fuck California, I’m looking forward to getting out.
@@arv2049 same. If I were in the middle of Texas or Louisiana I’d be able to survive. These states where inflation and the cost of living is skyrocketing is where we actually need it.
Uber eats, Uber alone, or working at the fast food places on base after hours, shit is ridiculous. Used, abused, and forgotten about the minutes your contract ends. 🤦🏻 🤷🏻♂️ 🫡
Tell me your at jblm without telling me
I feel like it's more important to criticize the states where cost of living is so ridiculously high. The military obviously should accommodate, but realistically I don't think they always can do surplus with how terrible things get over there.
And we wonder why the enlistment numbers are so low.
Shoot, there're people making youtube videos getting wayyyy more money than some active duty personnel. Country Wayne is making millions from his youtube videos.
Retention is lower lol.
Kids make $20 an hour working at Taco Bell. Why would they join with this pay scale?
Is Taco Bell giving free medical and housing?
There are better chances for advancement in the military than at Taco Bell or any other fast food place. Once you get up to manager, it’s easily a 10 year grind to get to district manager, and that’s such a waste of time imo
@@TokyoJoe3you can stay on family insurance through 25 years old... and mom and dads house is a hell of a lot nicer than barracks
@@DoIoannToKnowthat's debatable. Those are the same folks that are taking their parents with them to job interviews 🤨.
Lol I saw that too while at taco bell I did the math like man wtf
the military and government dont care about junior enlisted, they treat them as subhuman. They treat NCOs as barely human and officers are the only people who get treated anywhere close to human. There is no reason for DEI programs in the military that should probably be cut regardless of anything else, its just more bureaucrats for no reason
Of course you would say this
The government loves excessive bureaucracy because that means more power for them, and they love opportunities to launder money, which is where the waste comes from.
lol everyone acting surprised like congress or the senate ever gave a shit about the junior enlisted in the first place 😂
5.5%, basically an extra 25 bucks/week raise on average. Disgraceful. You don't join the military for the pay, but they should be getting a good bit more than fast food and retail workers.
Maybe if we sent less money to other countries and then there won't be a problem
It’s a big problem when we’re sending Afghanistan $40 million weekly retribution
Not just Afghanistan, the taliban🤦🏼♂️
This should make news headlines.
Where are our Republican Representatives fighting for this insane/dementia decision from Joe?!?!
Explain?
Funny, because the Taliban was bitching that we cut them off when we left. They even tried declaring that women were people to get us to throw them a bone and got pissy when it didn't work. There're charities that were complaining that if we didn't feed their people, it would be a humanitarian crisis and they were freaking out because we didn't.
Sending $ to Ukraine is more important than taking care of our own soldiers. No wonder recruiting numbers are down
I think that Billions that being spent to feed and house immigrants is more of issue than sending supplies and equipment to Ukraine that we would have to dismantle and destroy at larger cost.
Lotta Ruskies here complaining about that as if we couldn't do both.
@@Blodhelmwe can't. We are just putting it all on the credit card that way our children and grandchildren will pay for it all, no problem.
The military needs a massive pay raise. I work for the Gov't my position received 19.7% raise over 2020-2023 and 23% 2023-2026. Meanwhile my DOD went up like 6% lol. What a joke for our young servicemembers.
That along with better health

I enlisted 5 years ago with the plan on being a lifer but after my sixth year next June I will not resign. The pay is brutal as you highlighted and the amount of sacrifice and time away from family is simply not worth it anymore. Currently deployed and this really opened my eyes to this. 50k bonus for new recruits but 20k to retain me? Even that doesn’t make sense. So many revamps needs to occur with our military.
If you're going to ETS, then I think you will "resign". I think you mean "re-sign".
Ive never had a bonus, must be nice.
If you will NOT resign, then why even post? Did you proofread this before you posted?
@@Julian-4proof reading is for the Latinx go back to mexico pablo
@@Julian-4relax, dude meant “re-sign”.
I'm fine with cutting the rest of that crap and give our junior enlisted the pay bump they need. The vast majority of service members would benefit by these changes and not just a small select portion of members that currently benefit by these programs.
Make sure they cut the amount of money going to viagra and sending soldiers to remedy male pattern baldness with tattoos as well. The military is all about diversity programs, it's EO fool. But I guess you'd be fine with anyone, not Whyte male and straight being protected or showed equity. Lastly, this is a drained pool trick.
They don't mind pay raises for themselves, though. Yall realize this is a drained pool trick.
Its hard to see as a leader so many bright motivated young minds being stifled by a system that seems like it could really care less about its soldiers. Despite what many say about this new generations I have seen some real hard chargers enlisting. The retention problem is not a mystery, its actions like this that are bleeding us dry.
So how much should we raise our taxes? Unless our government cuts spending we are a ship destined to sink. We are over extended at home and abroad because of the insane corruption throughout our government, and populace. We waste as much as we spend.
@@chavezechavez6378what the hell would raising taxes accomplish? We pay taxes too. Instead stop overpaying these corporations and civilians and start giving us a fair wage. It’s well known for us in the aviation field that a bolt you can pick up for 15 cents at Home Depot costs a dollar when we order it just because it’s “FAA approved” and comes from Boeing.

46 billion in a single YEAR to a SINGLE foreign country, yet 24 billion for four years to our own country. Nope, Its truly unbelievable
250 Billion to Ukraine, 6 billion to Iran,4 billion to Israeli, 2 billion to tiawon
We send them money so we won't have to send our troops. We should pay our troops better, but that's a separate discussion.
Why pay you better if they can just draft you for free. Ukraine and Israel need the money.
oof, so true sadly. Zoomers/Alpha will not be ready
Ukraine gets the old stockpiles. If you’re in the military, you should see this better than me.
How old are the Bradleys and M113 that you can see in the Ukrainian battle footage? How old are F-16 that are used to train pilots? How old are the Patriot and HIMARS systems? The transferred ATACMS are pushing the expiration date.
Nothing is produced specifically for us, but thanks to your old stuff that would have gone for scrap anyway, my parents are still alive.
Not only that but we are getting great intel on how to improve our equipment without having to spend a dime. We are also getting rid of our old equipment for free and back filling them with new equipment.
Propaganda for ypur eyes and ears.
😂
Oh my goodness! Why won't people reenlist? We can't figure it out!
Welp, as an E4 it was fun to have that little bit of hope while it lasted. I've had roomates my whole time to save some money but from 2022 to now living by myself you barely make any money because the apartments keep raising the rent to match BAH. I'm about to work a 2nd job. I don't even go out that much or spend that much money. Then I have to deal with people talking shit about my old cars like dude, THATS ALL I CAN AFFORD!! I got a 2002 camry for $1,000, 103k miles and imma drive it til the wheels fall off.
That 2002 Camry is one the most reliable cars ever. My advice, use high quality 5W30 synthetic oil and a quality name brand oil filter you can afford. It doesn't have to be the most expensive either. Even Walmart brand super tech oil is okay. As for car consumables, when you see rare sales on filters, oil, and other fluids at a part store with a deep discount,go for them because in these times you never know when you need them and the store could suffer from a supply shortage. I am in your shoes too. As a college student,it hard to balance between wants and needs.
You got this bro☝🏽✊🏽
But billions to Ukraine and illegals but ZERO to our veterans and homeless americans. FJB.
You know if we quit footing the Bill for so many Countries to support their Military Forces and helping their needy before would go a long way to freaking keep enough money here. As for Ukraine, you do know most of the Ammo and Weapons that get sent over, are ammo that near expiring and would have to destroyed at cost, along with cost of replacement to replenish the Stock on hand. As for the weapons most of them were built in the 80's and 90's and have come to cost effectiveness of upgrading, so some of the money is to purchase replacement for that too. This will allow newer equipment that being used now, can be place in Stock to replace that equipment. Just saying.
@@abbottshaull9831how do you know that? Stop being a Biden shill for the war machine. Biden and the democrats are pieces of shit for shitting on the veterans.
Just want to say I think you are an awesome leader. Reenlisting into the army this coming week and your part of the reason I've gotten in better shape than I have ever been and love your content. Appreciate you educating us.
Navy Veteran here, Jr. enlisted deserve that pay+ more! All the money we spend on other things should stop and can go to them! They deserve it! 😊
This is exactly why me and so many of my brothers and sisters are getting out in droves. The quality of life gets worse year over year our pay barely rises while costs soar and people keep pinching more and more Pennies. I have a family to support now and even tricare is starting to lack under DHA making things more difficult to get things done for just myself and it gets tiring
Gender affirmation surgery for dependents? For real? Wow. And I’m on WIC with my kids. Ridiculous.
Let's Cut Congress' Pay and see how they like it!!!! Let them live on what the military does!!!
Wouldn't matter. They have all kinds of other income streams that became available via their office.
Fearing that Congress was becoming a place where only the children of the wealthy could afford to work, members of the House agreed to set a new minimum salary of $45,000 and boosted the overall pot of money for staff salaries. By the end of 2023, less than 5 percent of all aides fell below a living wage.2 days ago
The very Reason I got out was pay. I was from a large metro with allot of job opportunities. joined for the experience. By the time I was 8 years in I was making 60 percent of what my friends from high school were making. Now I've got a decent job making well above what the military was paying. No more night shift, no more early morning pt, no more being reprimanded for my troops getting in to trouble over the weekend. life's allot more peaceful out.
We all need to write our federal Senators . I will be writing our Pa Senators tomorrow and calling Monday.
It's literally just Democrats that are stopping this.
Nobody says "federal Senators." Senators by default are in the Senate at the national level, unless specified as State Senators.
As a junior enlisted (crewchief!) I'll take anything, especially as a father of 3! Anything is something.
Great positive attitude 👍🏻
What’s wrong with cutting what are essentially political commissar programs and giving it to junior enlisted?
No shame , Captain, Sir. This happened to Me, John Rodriguez, Post-Marine Corps , as an Active Duty Army Soldier, and, as a Veteran, Today, with help by a local program, Here in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, called " Project Action for Veterans" , to help pay My Rent.
So they cut programs and important topics for millenials and Gen Z and STILL expect us to serve? No thanks.
I say take it from the ATF and FBI
I know once you past over 10 or 15 years while you are in military you see a difference in pay, but the pay compared civilian world is pale comparison. And I see why soldiers or service members dont stay in.
I absolutely am so thankful for your UA-cam channel! I wish there was more channels like yours!
They know people will be so desperate for jobs, they don't need to increase pay.
most branches aren’t even meeting goals it’s stupid.
I've seen so many people try to keep other guys in but what usually traps people is if they start a family in service. (kids).
Unless you got a great exist plan. Terminal leave with almost immediate job after that its a very hard on them.
@@morbidzombii Oh they are now, because they lowered the quotas. I saw the Army had met their recruitment goal, after setting it far lower after last year's recruitment crisis.

Money for Ukraine and Israel. They get more money than any place else
We should have a recruiting issue cuz of this
I really wish everyone complaining about money would actually look at what they're sending.
News flash, it ain't money. It's old vehicles and ammunition that have been gathering dust and taking up our stockpile space.
These proxy wars have opened up so much room, we finally get to fill it with new stuff that isn't old and broken.

One issue that politicians seem to always ignore is how much we overpay for military contracts. Every day, I walk into the office and see a handful of contractors who will do nothing but doom scroll reddit all day. Not because they are lazy, but because somebody drastically overestimated how many extra hands we would need for the workload. If we get rid of some of these unnecessary contracts and just stop overpaying for shit, we could easily afford pay raises for these younger soldiers. The other glaring issue is the yearly september spending spree every unit goes through so they can spend the entirety of the budget and get the next fiscal year's budget reduced. Spending on the stupidest things because they can't think of useful things to spend money on. Plenty of places to cut so Soldiers can have better living conditions and wages.
I'll second this. I worked as a contractor after my time. Everything I did was by appointment only, and if we didn't have an appointment we really didn't have any duties. So we would watch netflix for 8 hours and make nearly $30 an hour.
The only down side to being a contractor is that the contract can go away at a moment's notice and then you're out of a job.
My god we’re screwed
@@OpenCourse556but you didn't complain when that deposit hit or did you complain when you paid off all your high interest credit cards and you didn't complain when they easily hired you as compared to the interview circus in the real world
It is always safer to overpay contracts than fall short on contractors and cause delays and shortages which costs more
cut all the gay communities funding 100%....there i fixed the pay raise issue
Looks like more recruitment and retention goals are going to be missed in the future. The people who serve are the best weapon this country has. Ashame, we can't even get a pay raise , but we can lose benefits.

I am current active duty Air Force. I’m an E-4 and I have absolutely no trust in our government or leadership as a whole. If we’re being honest, at first I wanted to join and serve my country like my brother, dad, cousin, grandpa, great grandpa, and great great grandpa. Now I know it’s not about serving your country. If I’m being honest. I’m in it for a steady pay check and job security now.
I'm not sure what the pay is like today, but when I was an E3 back in 1970, we got PCS to Minot, ND. Our total pay, with separate rations and housing was about $250 per month. The rent for a small basement apartment was $110. We were defiantly living below the poverty level. The thing that saved us was my part-time job as a motorcycle mechanic. Although health care was supposed to be available, there was not much for an E3 and his family. For instance there was almost no pre-natal help for my wife while she was pregnant with our son. I sure hope they now treat the low ranking members with more respect.
They do not want new people signing up, because that would stem the bleeding. They instead want an excuse to resume the draft, which they view as a radical but necessary surgical procedure.
With the new draft bill, they find it more cost effective to move away from incentivizing people to join and just force people to join
Maybe congress should do their job and pass a fiscal year budget.
Make a video about the USA Draft bill that just got signed and you're thoughts about it. I'll be waiting
Thanks for mentioning snap and wic i never knew about it and its gonna be such a huge help!

Getting rid of those stupid programs is a good idea though would save a ton
Just make all military pay tax free. No state, federal, income tax applied. That’s a good bump
Make all military pay tax exempt, see how high the retention numbers go up across the board. Don’t even need to increase the pay raise
You have to ask for 19.5% in order to get 5%
Basic military budget strategy. You want or need say $10,000.00, you ask for $20,000.00 they give you $15,000.00. Works evvery time. Well it did for 11 years for me.
They have no problem printing money to send money to countries that pay for their campaigns though!
Why would they give a fair wage to the men and women that die for their country?
Doesn’t benefit them.
So $6 Billion per year for the pay raise for junior enlisted, and how much was sent to other countries this year alone? How can you say you care about the military when one of the issues constantly mentioned is pay? I don't understand.....
Something definitely needs to be done. This would really help with the retention issues currently as well. Especially amongst the reserve components. Its hard to want to go to longer schools or want to re-enlist if you have a good paying civilian job and you have to take a 50% or more pay cut while going to a school or mobilised.
The fact that so many will blindly STIILLLLL fight their wars knowing they don’t care about none of us and mock us daily issssss crazy

Why so ?
@@brandonl375 because it means every medical issue gets reported. And then that starts a big long process to try and get it waived. Historically, if MEPS didn't find it, then it didn't happen and you are good. But now MEPS has no trouble finding out.

Hello Brother. (Spent nine years in; abn, air ass, jumpmaster, ranger school grad; I was in the right place at the right time to have been fortunate enough to complete some amazing schools, go to unique places, and serve with even better soldiers). But I have to say; no pay raise allowing soldiers to keep up with this crazy economy, hearing that soldiers are on food stamps, “your” recent video on the new Draft Bill and its confusion, understanding and preventing solider suicides still not addressed, and all of the services continuing to miss recruitment goals,…I would find it very hard to serve to this country again. I went in just before Desert Shield/Desert Storm and at that time there wasn’t the patriotism (WW2, Korea, Vietnam, etc) on display with vets wearing hats and shirts that many people have seen over the last 30 years in those years after the Vietnam Pull-Out leading up to 1991. At that time no one was announcing their service, it was a very different time and I remember it clearly - you had to want it serve and people would look at you funny (example; “why are you wearing that uniform on campus). No Vietnam Vets were announcing their service - these men were spit on when they returned from Vietnam and it wasn’t until the soldiers came back from Desert Storm that they came out. It’s a shame and I think this country is headed back in that direction following the Afghan Pull-Out. I am not surprised all of the services are having severe recruitment issues,…and now the soldiers are leaving. I don’t think this is going to get better for our soldiers.
Obviously we gave Ukraine a ton of $ that would have paid for this raise many times over.
There’s no reason anyone in the Military should be struggling to get by when we’re sending billions overseas.
Cutting or limiting on education.
Pretty much an eff you on pay raise.(for now)
With all the demanding shit soldiers have to go through and in the end still be in debt.
All the time sacrificed and still trying to make ends meet its not really a place that is really inviting.
I've been 13 years in the national guard and i finding it hard to finish my 20 with all the stupid crap going on lately. Lately feels more like we are preparing ourselves to look good on parades and ceremonies and "enforcing" programs that get lots of funding but generally stay the same instead of polishing our skills in our respective MOS.
I love how the dodge charge is the car meme of the military. I will also admit it did too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think as a civilian I support giving a substantial raise to military personnel because they are having a hard time attracting troops... and they are possibly putting their lives on the line for us, for gosh sake. We're heading to ww3 soon probably, we better reward those young people who are willing to volunteer for service rather than only attract those who are dragged by their feet into the suck.
I'm 22 years old. I'd rather sit in a jail cell than fight with women, gays and foreigners.
Not even a cost of living adjustment. Prices for goods have nearly tripled , across the board,in the past 3 years . 10% annually is a realistic summation of the past 3 years .
Between this and the BRS that's why most junior enlisted are doing four and out. Can't say I blame them, either. Especially in lieu of all that's happening lately. Where demands will increase exponentially and they'll be expected to do more with less. Now on top of all that BS you're being told you aren't getting a raise? Yeah, good luck with that, Congress!
No pay either? While these greedy weasels like their pockets even more, nobody should have a billion, that shouldn’t even be possible to have that amount
100% agree. I was in the National Guard all 14 years I was in so I didn't really understand the pay problem for Soldiers at home station because when I was activated I would receive my military pay and my work pay for the first 6mths or longer just depending on the company I was working for at the time. It wasn't until I was a mission to Germany to cover down on a unit there and we were doing left seat right seat when I was speaking with a E3 with a wife and 2 kids living off post and he told me he was on government assistance. It blew my mind and I started sending all kinda questions their way. At first I thought it was because Germany had a different social safety net system but I was told they also get these services back at home in the states. I completely lost my shit once I understood how much was coming in and how much still needed to go out. I realized how spoiled I was only being active for tax free deployments with hazard duty and other type of special pay on top plus a few months of salary from my job. On top of that I was single with no kids. Ever since that mission I have always advocated for my lower enlisted and really shaped how I lead w/ a focus on trying to ensure we did everything we could as a unit to take care of their needs so they could take care of the mission. When we have units trying to find places to spend money at the end of the FY just to make sure they get allocated the same or more next year and that's seen as a good thing vs supporting and praising units that find ways to get more done with less withing regulation it really bothers me.
I guess lower enlisted won't be adjusted to inflation then... And they wonder why recruitment is kind of low.
But why is retention so low? Why can’t recruiters meet their quotas? And they said I would be a miserable loser when I got out, but I’m enjoying that VA money paying my bills and rent😂😂😂
Gonna be there soon brother 😂💪🏽
Damn and I thought I was about to get a 15% extra… hopefully by time I’m done with boot and ASchool they’ll up it.
They keep complaining that recruiting is going to plan but even the pay is crap why would anyone consider it when there seems to be so many negatives to they consider the idea of mandatory service but not adding incentives to join wtf
No Brainer when you look at the "esteemed" members of the Senate defense committee.....
Government is a bunch of buffoons everyone should just leave the military and see how quickly things get fixed this is honestly fing ridiculous I had no idea junior pay way this low
I'm not disappointed. I'm angry. This is ludicrous! We pay out to tyrants while we snub the soliders who sacrifice their lives. I count my blessings with what benefits I get, but what's keeping them from cutting me and my brothers and sisters off when it becomes "inconvenient"?
So very little money to the troops are u freaking kidding me
The real waste of military money is to be found in experiments and development of useless hypertanks, hyperartileery and so forth. R&D won't be touched though, there's corporate interest. You know where this is going.
My daughter is an E4 in Hawaii, it infuriates me that we're housing and feeding 9 million illegals when we barely take care of our soldiers. If she had kids she absolutely would have to use SNAP.
I was considering enlisting at 35 in the navy, but I may not, having second thoughts. This didn't help.
I enlisted in the Navy in 2001 at age 35. My basic training unit was all people that age up to 40. Everyone else called us the Geritol unit 😅 Retired at 55, couldn't take it one more month. Also I refused the covid vaccine
Don’t do it go to another country and fight for free and fair elections and secure their borders it’s all bullshit
Senate is only trying to match inflation. House is trying to exceed inflation rate. While we push billions over seas to take care of other countries instead of helping soldiers. We need to pull money from senate members and the house to take care of soldiers
I say that these lgbtq+ programs simply have zero place in the military BECAUSE there are medical consequences with such operations that, normally don't mean much, but when it comes to the military, they absolutely mean A LOT... I mean if a slight difference, in how the heart beats, between naturally born men, and naturally born women, has such a HUGE impact on weapon accuracy, but is such a big negative in everything else, to the point that women are by far, best used as snipers when it comes to combat, I'm certain that these medical operations will have a impact on combat efficiency, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's probably not going to be a very desirable impact for the military.
I think that money would absolutely be better spent in the pockets of our armed forces members.
Just looking at the base pay situation, i don't think a ~19% increase to lower enlisted fixes any problems. All that would do is bring the base pay of an e4 above an E5 and 2% under an e6 using the current post chart (capping at the 6yr mark). That would mean for the first 6 pay ranks, you would only have very low difference i in pay. I think a bigger help would be more across the board pay raises, rank based discount systems on post (lower enlisted get bigger discounts on post), and creating a different tax table for military personnel while they serve so that less money is taken out of their check. Then, extend that to property taxes, and if you do 20 years, then you don't have to pay property taxes regardless of your va disability rating. Realistically, pay raises are bandaids to problems, persisting benefits based on service will retain and motivate more ppl to serve in the military.
Man back in 1989 i almost joined the army. I took the test & past thin i found out I was only gonna make $17 thousand a year. I went to work at a beer 🍺 company making $32 thousand a year.
I did the math.$ 💰
Hopefully not one more person will sign up to join the Military until E-1 through E-5 earn the same amount as Law Enforcement Officers.
5.5% really doesn’t even keep up with inflation over the past few years, even with the COLAs already received. This is not a raise at all
