  • **UPDATE: 6/27/17 - There are now bathrooms at the hilltop!
**UPDATE: 2/2/18 - "In an attempt to accommodate more visitors who desire to visit the canyon, starting in 2018 we will be limiting campground reservations to a maximum stay of 4 Days / 3 Nights per reservation (but you are welcome to make multiple back-to-back reservations to extend your stay if those dates are available)."
Thank you SO much for checking out my video! I worked hard on it and I know it's long, but I truly hope it's helpful and not too boring lol. Please feel free to leave any questions, comments, or updates down below. I tried to cover as much as I could, but some things you will just need to experience on your own :) As mentioned, it’s a good idea to check out the tribe’s website periodically for any updates. I hope you have an amazing time at Havasupai! XoXo

    ADDITIONAL TIPS:
♡ For permits: The smaller your group the higher chance of obtaining a permit. If possible, go during the week, weekends fill up fast. You’ll have a higher chance of getting permits Aug-Oct. Have several people calling at once and consider using an auto-dial app.
♡ Instead of staying in Kingman, you can also stay at the Grand Canyon Caverns Inn which is approx. 66 miles from the hilltop (50 miles closer than Kingman). (gccaverns.com/rooms-packages/t...)
♡ The squirrels are a different breed down there! They WILL get into your food and your bags, they will rip holes and they know how to undo zippers. Plan accordingly! Keep your food away from your tent/pack, etc. and hang it up. You can use Frisbees on either side of a rope so they aren’t able to Army rope crawl to get it down or a bear canister.
♡ Pack out what you pack in! Use LNT “Leave No Trace” principles.
♡ PLEASE do not use the pack animals!! I did not mention them in this video because I do not agree with the use of these animals. They are severely abused. Challenge yourself! You got this!! If you can’t carry it, don’t bring it.
♡ Our bags weren’t on the same helicopter ride as us because they were backed up so we had to wait at the hilltop for a little while to receive them. Keep anything valuable/important with you if you are worried… and your car keys… so you can wait in air conditioning!
