I have the same issue too, everything works fine but no contrast setting, it shouldn't be fake it's about 10 years old so that's the issue , the guy that has done the video has calci that's quite new #updated.Yours would be old I guess like mine
I know this was six years ago, but I thought I'd help those with a different ROM in their calculator. The original ones that were later manufactured in China have a different diagnostic test: Hold the 'shift key down and press ON' this turns on all of the LCD components in the display. Next press the 'shift' key again and the display will go off. Then keep pressing the 'shift' key again and it will go through a number of LCD tests until you get to the keyboard test. The display will show '1' this is the 'shift' key number you are pressing then go all around the keyboard to display the number that corresponds to the keys you are pressing (don't press the the ON key as this will exit the test) Once finished, the display will show 'OK' and it's done. Both of my calculators are genuine, but don't work in the same way as described in this video. Thanks for making your video as it made me look into this as your method didn't work on my devices. 🧐
When i press shift 0:36 this part haven't showed in my calculator And the 0 of my calculator looks like ø soo That means my calculator is fake? Also i can't count more than 21 I need the answer please.
My calculator is definitely fake, but it has this mode! It's slightly different, without contrast settings, but with display and keyboard tests.

Complex for complex number and comp for normal math......
Like: 3+4i or √-3 etc is solved by complex mode.16/4 such math solved by comp mode...
