Thank you for your tutorial on your cart, even though I've never worked with horses I could easily follow your explanation and the different application, we used to have a cart where we would put 5 logs, 70 foot logs length measuring over a 1000 bdft it was an easy pull. Keep up the interesting tutorials, and thanks again.
None of my folks ever had one either. Pa always ground skid all their timber. Like you tho, I believe he would’ve found this cart helpful. If he had of had one. Thanks for the kind words and for always watching Mr Thomas.
Idk where any is for sale right off, but I listed the plans to build one like mine in the description. Here’s a link to it…www.healingharvestforestfoundation.org/log-arch-plans.html My friend Jim Brown also builds custom log carts and will build you one. You can contact him on this website: farmerbrownsplowshop.com/ Thanks again for watching!
@@floatpool8307that would be nice! But it would be super expensive and probably wouldn’t hold up as good. These carts take a lot of abuse day in and out. But that is an option and thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for watching and commenting too
That’s awful kind of you, but I just had good teachers is all and I want to share it with you all 😊😊😊 Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting! I surely appreciate it
You’ll either have to find someone that has a used one for sale. Or either build or have one built. The plans for my cart are in the video description. I believe a friend of mine Jim Brown also builds log carts on a order basis. You can go to his website: farmerbrownsplowshop.com/ Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’d say it’s around 30-40 pounds. When they’re hooked to a log the tongue will tend to rise a little and “float” if you will. The bigger the load the more it’ll rise. So you want some tongue weight just to aid in keeping the tongue down and keep the log up out of the dirt. But you don’t wanna just ride around empty all the time with it for sure. And most log carts by design will tend to have more tongue weight than say a regular forecart. Sometimes I wish I had a little more tongue weight actually. I’ll hop on the cart and kinda sit forward at times to aid in keeping the tongue down from rising so much on the big loads. Anyway, hope this answers your question and thanks for watching and please come again! Take care
