Thanks for a solid, fact-filled evaluation. Great video! It's great to live in a time when we can pick from so many excellent options for concealed carry. The Hellcat is nice, but a "Me, too!" product. Except for the included high-cap magazine, it offers nothing the P365 hasn't had for the past year. Sig already has an optics-ready P365, and even offers a manual selector version (which my 1911-leaning wife prefers). Glock and other manufacturers were there before Springfield, but I welcome the competition. Bottom line: If you're a Springfield fan, this is your pride and joy. If you're a Sig fan, it's not even news. If you're a Glock fan, the Glock 43 is all you see on the shelf. I feel no need to put any of them down; it's a brand-centered choice.
I love Springfield Armory products! I have a XD-9 service pistol in 9mm and It is a marriage made in heaven. It feels good in my hand and shoots accurate. I wish I could shoot it more but this ammo shortage of 2020 has me stockpiling instead of practicing. Not a good time to be out wasting ammo because you just can't replace it as easy.
They are all chasing the 365 now that set the concealed carry standard. The 365 is thinner. Only three rounds more. Looks like a good contender though. Thanks for the look.
Good contender? Really? It's the same width, shorter in height, & same length. Plus, the extended magazine is included with it -- with Sig, you have to purchase it separately. All around winner !!! I see this Hellcat as taking a ma h or chunk of the future P365 sales.
@@georgezaid3696 Especially anyone wanting to mount an RMR. I'm still good with my P365 with 12+1 (I use the Sig Lima365 Laser), but the Hellcat will sure give Sig some real competition.
Looks like a real winner. I’d like to see it compared to my PT111 G 2 Taurus. The PT111 comes with 2-12 round mags. Mine has been perfect since day one. It’s over 3 years old now, can’t even tell you how many rounds through it, just lots. Love that it is optic/red dot ready. My Taurus is not, however it was so inexpensive I have been temped to have it modified.

Excellent review, looks like a nice little gun... For carry I only want a DA/SA external hammer design like the Springfield XDE,,, or DAO with internal hammer like Ruger LC9,, or Striker fire with decocker like Walther P99... I own at least one of all these since they are the safest operating mechanism for something you may carry in a pocket... I also do not care for anything with a short light trigger pull or short reset as there is much more chance of a unintended discharge in a high-stress situation where fine motor skills are severely compromised

Damn another shiny new object to draw my attention to. Most of the compact 9’s from reputable manufacturers are good, one may have features that another does not have. Thank God my attention is on pistols rather than women and probably cheaper in the long run.
I think it's because striker fired single stack 9mm's from more than 3 years ago are old hat and symbols of wasted design space when compared to the higher ammo capacity guns that have recently come out (10+1, etc). The Glock 43, Walther PPS, Springfield XDS, and others, are just uninspired clones of each other with lower capacity than the p365 and Hellcat. I would bet my 401k that several other pistol manufacturers will come out with a p365 clone just like the hellcat in the next 2-3 years. There will be a "Walther PPN", or a "Glock 52", HK "VP40", or whatever shit they come up with, that are copies of these micro compacts with large ammo capacity. Bottom line is -- Sig set the standard, and Springfield was quick to follow with their own copy. There will be more. Which actually excites me since I am a big Walther guy.
In this case its one of the few pistols in its class that offers both a rail and an optics ready model. If you were not really into either of those things then it would be just a subjective purchase in that it just feels good in your hand or you tend to shoot it rather well vs the others you have tried.
Jordan K But to be honest I’d rather have it fit in my hand that way I knew where all those shots were going ! I mean he demonstrated mass pretty well even with a bad grip .
The PT111 is what I've been looking at for my concealed carry. Was looking at a glock, but I've heard mostly good things about the Taurus and you can't beat the price.
I may be splitting hairs here but the grip still looks a tad wider than the P365. The magazines surely look a bit thicker. The P365 is identical in thickness to most single stack 9mms, but comparing the hellcat to those single stacks shows its overall bigger.
Just picked up a M&P sheild New for $259...... absolute steal. This new gun looks great, but not 550 bucks great. If you get the optic ready model and decent optic, your looking at over a grand... yikes
I’ve been carrying a Shield since 2014. I’m darn good with it. They are very inexpensive now. This gun is made by Springfield which is strike 1 and it’s $569 which is strike 2. I’ll pass.
I only carry full-size, but $259 for a Shield really is a good deal. I paid just over $400 for my Walther PPQ m2 .45 though, so $550 for a 9mm with 1 more shot doesn't work for my particular scenario. Most people don't carry full size though. XD
You get what you pay for. Considering the size and capacity, that and they're selling at places for 4 something already.. Yeah. Besides, the " optic ready " one kind of defeats the point of conceal / carry.
The magazines are very stiff when new but do loosen up little as u go, at first I couldn't by hand load fully had leave one out, I probably could force it but that's not good policy
Sold my xds for the p365. To me it is a way better shooter pretty much night and day difference . Maybe I dont like the way Springfields handle so I'll keep my sig for sure. P365 is a great package night sights and handles like a much bigger pistol. It's great that these manufacturers are start to really push the limits of these pistols and technology
I have a G2C and if the Hellcat is very similar in dimensions to the p365, then the Hellcat is significantly more compact than the G2C imo. As someone with fairly small hands, I can definitely feel the difference between a p365 and my G2C.
Practical Tactical the G2c is 6.25 in. The hellcat is 6 in in length. Height 4 in for hellcat an 5 for the G2c. The width 1 in. For the hell an 1.25 for G2c. Almost identical in everything but the height
Sweet piece of metal! Personally, I wouldn't care too much about optics. If I'm packing a concealed weapon, I'm likely to only draw it in self-defense... and more than likely at close range. Aside from that, a red dot _'would'_ be nice. 😋
I'm bias, I never liked single stack micro pistols (as they call it) this is why I still carry my g26 and own the p365. This maybe my next carry. Pre ordered mine, $499 without optics.
I want one, just with a longer slide. Then I would totally buy one for sure. Also if it could take a light like my tlr. I dont want to buy another light.
No optics really don't change the carry of the gun since they stay the same width as the slide. The biggest thing to print on a gun is the grip. That's why these micros are so great short grips means easy conceal. Also the fact that you can use the iron sights is awesome of the optic goes down you have the irons as a back up.
Just bought mine yesterday . Sigs rep as a misfiring gun is really hurting its sales. I’ve seen it three times yesterday. People come in wanting to know about the Hellcat vs Sig and the gun salesman would say go with the Hellcat unless U want to get shot in the 🦶
shot 150 rounds the day after i bought it . 10 federal hst's , one failure to feed. 10 critical defense and 150 fmj's . only that one failure with the hst's. but im really not happy about that one failure. as i was planning on using it for my ccw...
It's a fat Walther PPS M2 RSMC, I'll have to try one sometime but the extra thickness and weight is not a welcome change and is the only thing different.
I hope this is a new design. I had a micro about 10 years ago and it jammed about every 4th shot! I tried different ammo, even sent it back to Springfield and they said they worked on it, but it still kept jamming. It was too unreliable for a concealed carry and. I couldn't sell it in good conscience, as it could mean the lack of protection for an owner in a life or death situation. So I contacted Springfield and I returned it and they refunded my money. After that I trusted in my 357 revolver that never fails.
The sig 365 has a 12 round and a 15 round magazine you can get and the sig 365 are selling for around $499 i would definitely recommend the sig 365 over this gun especially cuz of the price
Thanks, but no thanks! I'll just stick with my Glock 26. Comparing that Hellcat side-by-side to the single stack G-43, Shield 9....is no real comparison it looks like to me. Looks as though the Hellcat mag is a double stack like a G-26.
ANTHONY N. - according to the websites, Hellcat Grip is 1” thick. G26 is 1.25” thick. I am leaning toward a Glock 26 myself but that 1/4” is friggin significant. Plus, higher capacity than G26 in free states (I am in NY with a 10-rd mag restriction - fucking freedom-hating scumbags). Hellcat is probably gonna be cheaper, too.
wolfpacak47 - I get it, bro. Never shot the xds 45 but I have the xds9 and even though it isn’t one of my favorites, I never had an issue with it. Always ran like a top and shot straight.
It's very comfortable for me, no problem getting nice groups. The sig has more frame flex, I think it might reduce recoil a bit. Just an observation not 100% on it.
I (WAS) in the process of selecting a gunsmith to mill my 365 slide so that I could mount a RMSc. Now I won't have to modify my Sig and plan on getting a hellcat for EDC. Might go w a laser on the 365???
@@Chief3o I've got the Sig Lima365 Laser on my P365 and I love it. Highly recommended because it doesn't interfere with holstering (I pocket carry with the DeSantis Super Fly Pocket Holster w/Flap Sig P365), has a long battery life, it's easy to use, light weight, and makes target acquisition a breeze, even without my coke bottle glasses.
GTodd Bennett A laser on a compact pistol?? NO. Hell no. Good luck keeping it zeroed and not bouncing around everywhere. rmr is the only true option. Dont waste your money on a laser for something like this
@@a.d.c7941 Since I've put a few hundred rounds through my P365, and the laser has been installed from the get-go, I beg to differ. In fact, every one of my firearms has a laser (9mm's, 380 S&W., 40 S&W, 22LR & 45 ACP), as do most of my long guns (IWI Galil Ace .308, Colt AR-15 A2, & Browning Auto-5 [now Auto-9]), except they have 2 (red & green), as well as RMRs on their scopes. For us older folks who can no longer shoot (let alone see) the gonads off a flea at 100 yds, the lasers really help, just like the high power telescopic sights on the long guns. They're all tools that, if used correctly, can do amazing things. Would I use lasers for match shooting? Of course not. But for fast target acquisition (like in self defense situations, for which the P365 was designed), there's nothing like it, especially for someone with lots and lots of different firearms, and not enough time or money to become expert in each. I HIGHLY recommend lasers. No exceptions. I do agree with you about an RMR on a pistol, and my next one (probably one in the Sig P320 family) will have one (and quite possible, a laser--but that's yet to be decided). However, for the micro pistols, an RMR doesn't go well with my pocket carry requirement. For those IWB or OWB carriers, that's a different story.
Both are great but when choosing a subcompact that wasnt even an option because its just too big for what I want out of a sub or what I call a "baby 9". I want it on my ankle or waistband without knowing its there. Or even in my pocket. The walther is a great gun with more rounds but id gladly have it in my collection. Just dont know if I actually want to walk around with it. May as well get a full sized 9 with even more ammo capacity for a much cheaper price imo
Ron Roberti yup did our best to hide it in plain sight where we did side by side comparisons against actual single stacks which you can rewatch in this video
Kentucky Gun Co it wasn’t that you didn’t compare the grips with the side by side, it seemed with handling of the 2 pistols it was not a prominent part of the comparison or specifically mentioned. Not a deal breaker still looks like a good tool for backup and concealed Carry.
@@141amxs2 The version that comes with a red dot is 30.00 more. What makes you think it's a 400 dollar gun, when it runs circles around the p365, and the 365 sells for a lot more than that?

For some reason I thought you were about to say the brand new Springfield Hellcat 9mm 365. Thx for having good service KYGCO.
I may be splitting hairs here but the grip still looks a tad wider than the P365. The magazines surely look a bit thicker. The P365 is identical in thickness to most single stack 9mms, but comparing the hellcat to those single stacks shows its overall bigger.
My wife’s nickname is hellcat so of course I have to buy her one !!
Just picked up a M&P sheild New for $259...... absolute steal. This new gun looks great, but not 550 bucks great. If you get the optic ready model and decent optic, your looking at over a grand... yikes
The Free Raven they are comparing guns that are single stack to this double stack I wish this was a single stack I’d consider it .
Picked up a Hellcat without optics cut for 449. I am not one to put optics on a carry gun though.
Excellent introduction of Hellcat!
Looks like the Beretta Nano but a little bigger.
Hope it shoots better than a Nano.
The magazines are very stiff when new but do loosen up little as u go, at first I couldn't by hand load fully had leave one out, I probably could force it but that's not good policy
Thanks for the review on this one sir looks like a very nice pistol
Sold my xds for the p365. To me it is a way better shooter pretty much night and day difference . Maybe I dont like the way Springfields handle so I'll keep my sig for sure. P365 is a great package night sights and handles like a much bigger pistol. It's great that these manufacturers are start to really push the limits of these pistols and technology
The Taurus G2c has a 3.2 inch barrel holds 12+1
But its massive in comparison. Its bigger than a G26
Almost identical in everything but the height
love mine ,hardly know I have it on me
Definitely going to rent one and compare it to my XD mod2
Which did you prefer?
Man that looks sweet wonder if you can get it in comifornia
Great presentation! Thanks! The optics are a nice touch. Do the optics negatively affect the carry in any way?
No optics really don't change the carry of the gun since they stay the same width as the slide. The biggest thing to print on a gun is the grip. That's why these micros are so great short grips means easy conceal. Also the fact that you can use the iron sights is awesome of the optic goes down you have the irons as a back up.
Just bought mine yesterday . Sigs rep as a misfiring gun is really hurting its sales. I’ve seen it three times yesterday. People come in wanting to know about the Hellcat vs Sig and the gun salesman would say go with the Hellcat unless U want to get shot in the 🦶
thx for this video ,can you add a laser light on it
shot 150 rounds the day after i bought it . 10 federal hst's , one failure to feed. 10 critical defense and 150 fmj's . only that one failure with the hst's. but im really not happy about that one failure. as i was planning on using it for my ccw...
I LOVE MY HELLCAT!!!❤❤❤
I carry a walther PPS m2 le everyday and I never feel under gunned or under protected, however, this one looks like a killer ...
Thanks for the video I didn't even know about this new firearm now I think I mite just pick one up thanks!
Nice review. very informative and detailed.
Thanks buddy...
It's a fat Walther PPS M2 RSMC, I'll have to try one sometime but the extra thickness and weight is not a welcome change and is the only thing different.
The "optics" version would seem to greatly hamper concealed carry.
I carry the 365xl with remeo zero and no problems concealing.
How long is the barrel on your 357?
Nice review.
I’ll stick with my FNS9C. It’s not a candidate for an optic, but it’s one of the best CC pistols on the market. That’s my $0.02 worth.
FN makes a quality product.
Love my HELLCAT
Get one in the rental fleet and I'll take it for a test drive.
The sig 365 has a 12 round and a 15 round magazine you can get and the sig 365 are selling for around $499 i would definitely recommend the sig 365 over this gun especially cuz of the price
is there any striker drag???
Hi johnnie
Thanks, but no thanks! I'll just stick with my Glock 26. Comparing that Hellcat side-by-side to the single stack G-43, Shield 9....is no real comparison it looks like to me. Looks as though the Hellcat mag is a double stack like a G-26.
Yeah I wanted to see it compared to an XD
@@dsbiddle i trust my 26 i didnt my xds 45
wolfpacak47 - I get it, bro. Never shot the xds 45 but I have the xds9 and even though it isn’t one of my favorites, I never had an issue with it. Always ran like a top and shot straight.
Seems from all the videos like it has more recoil/muzzle flip than the p365.
It's very comfortable for me, no problem getting nice groups. The sig has more frame flex, I think it might reduce recoil a bit. Just an observation not 100% on it.
A great gun review. I want one!
Really take a look at this for new carry handgun but I'm curious will this handgun have the same magazine feed lip issues as the XD?
How about the HK P30SK? Plus hammer fired which I prefer. 10+1 capacity.
Love mine
I absolutely love love my p365! I'll wait till all the hype is over on the hellcat before I love love my hellcat (that is if I buy one)🤔
Same here. I'll wait to see if there are any defects 1st.
Awesome review thanks.
Considering the grip size ,,I'll stick with my Walther PPQ SC
Nick very true
Both are great but when choosing a subcompact that wasnt even an option because its just too big for what I want out of a sub or what I call a "baby 9".
I want it on my ankle or waistband without knowing its there. Or even in my pocket. The walther is a great gun with more rounds but id gladly have it in my collection. Just dont know if I actually want to walk around with it. May as well get a full sized 9 with even more ammo capacity for a much cheaper price imo
And its true everyones hands are different. The hellcat felt like it was made for my hand. The guy who sold it to me said it was too small for him.
Looks like the hell cat is as wide as any other double stack. Grip looks like a normal sub compact double stack. Am I taking crazy pills?
Brian McD -no your not, the video did it’s best to hide this but I noticed it also. Seemed a little bulky.
Springfield will have to include a red dot for me to be interested.
I agree, for 600 bucks. It's a 400 dollar gun at most. Throw on a red dot, Springfield and ill pay your 600.
@@141amxs2 The version that comes with a red dot is 30.00 more. What makes you think it's a 400 dollar gun, when it runs circles around the p365, and the 365 sells for a lot more than that?
