    This is the most sober and good take on the Berrada move I have seen from a City fan.
    Way to many City fans and content creators have made this into a total circus, calling him a snake and at the same time that it doesn't matter because he wasn't doing an important job at City anyway.
    And many of the United fans have come with their jumping a sinking ship nonsense.
    I am a United fan and I am very happy about us getting him as our CEO.
    Finally after VERY many years are we getting a VERY qualified person as our CEO.
    The fact that he comes from City is just a bit funny for me and in reality it means nothing.
    We get a great guy and City lose one.
    And City will replace him with someone that will do a good job.
    The replacement might be a bit better, the same, or a bit worse, but never much worse.
    City will keep on being a very well run club.
    I just hope we will as well soon.

    The fact that Omar has to leave CFG to move up the corporate ladder tells me there was no hope that those above him were going to go anywhere quickly. That brings some comfort. If Ferran is staying, perhaps Pep will stay longer too.

      @ryanschultz4119 5 місяців тому

      @samwize28 For starters he's not "distancing himself from the club" ffs! He took an opportunity with a huge pay raise. And do you honestly think if Manchester City did anything wrong, he's not culpable? Furthermore, would United make him their CEO if they thought he could potentially get in trouble from his time at Man City?! Like Stephen said, the most obvious answer is usually the correct one.

    • @samwize28
      @samwize28 5 місяців тому +1

      @@ryanschultz4119 it feels like a win-win from Utd’s side though. If he is culpable, it will mean his contract can be ripped up for gross misconduct and Blanc will simply side step in as interim CEO. Hardly the end of the world for MUFC.
      For city though? Yeh, it’s the end of the world alright.

      @samwize28 How is it the "end of the world" for Manchester City??? While Berrada certainly contributed in his time at City. He wasn't a key decision maker. It's always been Txiki & Khaldoon, and Pep on the pitch. Everyone at Man City is confident in their innocence! And look forward to proving it. The City Football Group is the most successful entity in the world of football over the last 10-15 years. This glorified witch hunt by the FA isn't going to change that. How long until you accept Manchester City is the best run club..?

    Rory Jennings did a video where him and a friend did an all time PL XI, and not one City player made it. He also said "Gerrard and Lampard were 10x the player KDB is" and "prime Pogba is more talented than KDB" Apparently Andy Cole, Shearer and Kane are better than Aguero too, honestly, not even a City fan but the disrespect for Man City on Footy podcasts is alarming.

      Brother, Pogba is far more talented than KDB, but KDB is more disciplined, efficient and has a higher football IQ than Pogba, City are victims of their own success. KDB and Aguero will never get the recognition they deserve simply because they've played in a team where every player is outstanding as compared to Harry Kane in that spurs team or Shearer at Newcastle. Look at how seamlessly they replaced David silva with Bernardo silva, that sort of efficiency desensitizes people to how great some players are, KDB has never won a player of the month award not because he doesn't deserve it but because of how well oiled that team is.

      The charges relate to highly strategic fraud, classifying equity investment as sponsorship revenue.
      I expect most people at the club had an inkling of what was going on but it’s not like you need loads of people to be implicated. It need only be your owner, your CFO, and the owners of your two sponsors.

Would a huge financial operation like Manchester united be employing Omar Berrada in such an important, high profile position if they thought there was any chance that City, which would include him, were going to be found guilty of fraud? I actually think it is quite flattering that other clubs clearly acknowledge what a well run club City is and don't begrudge the guy this step up in his career. I have every confidence that City will appoint an equally effective replacement.
