WHAT??? I almost got a heart attack seeing King The Land in the worst 5??? Come on it's the best anytime! I fell in love with Lee Junho haha!
I disagree that King the Land was in the worst category. I throughly enjoyed King the Land, as a matter of fact a coworker & I could not wait for each episode because the series was just that good. King the Land was sweet, funny, the writing was good & so very romantic in the scene where he ask if he could kiss her. The finale was the highest watched in a series on Netflix. As far as the others in the worst list well now I am intrigued & will watch to judge for myself.

@@Ididiwai and that is your opinion, which is what makes watching even better. Saying I am wrong in knowing a good drama from a bad one is a bit harsh. I’ve watched 500+ k dramas & can honestly say they have all been good based on when they were made. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to any series, I just happened to like this one a lot & it is really ok. By the way if you have not seen A Time Called You, I highly recommend. Also Destined With You is pretty good too. Happy Watching.
I liked King the Land. It was not a great drama, but definitely cannot be considered one of top 5 worst. The problem I had was that it was like watching a 16 episode trailer. There wasn’t any development of plot lines. His sister’s bid for control of Kings Hotel. She did not fight back?? The air hostess who kept getting passed over for promotion. How was that remedied? And many others. So it was a well acted and entertaining drama, but lacked depth.
I absolutely love King the Land. It was just the drama i hoped to have this summer. Junho played his part perfectly, being a smart businessman and a guy who has a stressful family life and normal human missteps. The Island was a drama that you definitely needed to watch both parts to understand. Its a fantasy type drama that if you try to watch it for structure you wont get it. Different people look for different things in dramas. The top 5 best werent the best to me. I dont look for hard life dramas all the time, life is hard enough. I look for dramas i can get lost in for awhile.
I loved king the land I think it was funny & the main couple did I good job the only issue I had was had to wait for episode to come out each week, I like to watch the whole series in one go.
Too cliche
Very enjoyable, and allowance should be paid to the fact it was a romantic comedy with a touch of drama, and had three couples telling their stories, big tick from me. Too many shows have so much nastiness you skip to the end or they kill of their main characters, so I won’t watch again. This show I will watch again

It shows the same old same old , recycled, love story which is cliched. It got famous only because of the fanbase of the lead two actors. The story has nothing in it.
Hooray for their fans!! One of them being me. Loved KTL because it was refreshing and so fun to watch. As a matter-of-fact, I'm making my 3rd round of it because nothing right now has piqued my interest. Except for Heartbeat starting another 2PM member OK Taecyeon, it was so good. Sad, but good.
King the Land was a fun & relaxing movie to watch over a very long hot Florida summer. I would much rather watch King the Land than some on the Top 5 list. I agree with the other commenter that it will continue to gain viewership especially in U.S. Sometimes you just want a little less drama in a K-Drama. I was disappointed in the ending of Business Proposal. It was so abrupt. But, maybe they want a season 2.
Funny how personal opinions differ. Kdrama has a lot more to offer these days than the same old lovey dovey storyline. I wouldn't even watch kind the land if you paid me to watch it. Because let's be honest here, it's ONLY famous because of Yoona and Jun ho. If it were some relatively unknown actors, an average drama like that would hardly even be recognised.

@@deannabishop600 I have watched the whole drama. That's why I said I wouldn't watch it again even if someone paid me for it. Lost interest in the first few episodes itself because I've seen the same happen all to many times. And no its not because my personal preference is something else. It's because the drama just isn't good enough. Simple as. It wouldn't have gotten half the traction it did if not for Yoona and Jun ho. The lead cast saved the drama.
Same here, i just love the actors but not the drama. I don't like it. I just didn't agree with the ISLAND. I love it so much.

I absolutely loved King the Land and I found it to be more enjoyable than Business Proposal, in saying that I would still BP in the top 5. Maybe King The Land in no 2 or 3. Best Drama and number one for me is Hidden Love, but then I prefer light and easy with a little bit of drama❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The ratings of King the Land speaks for itself. Viewers love it not just in Asian market but internationally, proof your review of King the Land doesn’t really agree with the viewers. Since it’s launch viewers could not wait for the next two episodes and it continued to keep the momentum till the end and the ending was just so beautiful. You can’t compare romantic comedy, against action, historical, fantasy, science fiction, horror, terror, drama, adventure, musical. Each genre has its own characteristics and type of production. The quality of a movie is judged by its viewers. If it appeals to its audience regardless of the genre then it has achieved its purpose. King the Land highly appealed to its audience because of the great acting between the main characters, their undeniably beautiful chemistry, funny and at the same time charismatic. The story line which maybe from hate to love is still very appealing and the challenges of a relationship between the rich and commoner where the rich learn to appreciate hard working employees when he fell in love with one of them is again very appealing if done in a sophisticated way. And King the Land demonstrated this appeal to millions of viewers around the world.

King the land is one of the best dramas I have watched. It was just what I needed to cheer up
King the land starts good, but it gets lame and weak later. For a mature audience king the land does come under the top 5 worst list.
I liked King the Land. Definitely not in top 5 worst, though it wouldn't make top 5 best either.
The First half of King The Land suffered from poor writing with copious and tired plot devices and tropes. The show salvaged itself in the second half, when the relationship between Jun Ho and Yoona began to really blossom. They finally began to really enjoy themselves while filming, and what a relief that was! What I really began to notice was that as soon as Junho was relieved of the duty to play a cranky chaebol (a condition far from his own personality) and could play a guy "Drunk on Love" who was warm, caring, and loving, he looked HAPPY! And that was when the whole show finally began to take off.
Here in the Philippines i think king the land was not a flop or worst drama. I loved it so much and we in the office awaits so much for Saturdays and Sundays to come and excited to watch king the land. And even watched it repeatedly we love the cast, only that it was a sudden ending hopefully there is part 2

KTL certainly doesnt belong in the worst list at all. I watched certain dramas to de--stress and de-compress aftr cmg back late from work, truly dont mind KTL predictable story plot. Who cares. The chemistry among all the actors in this rom-com is very good.
I heckin' loved KING THE LAND. I chose not to watch it at first. But I gave it a try last week and finished it in 6 days. It was a sweet, funny drama. Sometimes, that's all a viewer needs. I didn't find a single episode boring.
So glad to learn I am not the only person left cold by King the Land. I couldn't finish it. I just wasn't interested. I'll definitely check out some on the best list.

She is right about King the Land, I can't pinpoint what's wrong with it but I just stopped watching it.
'The glory' and 'crash course in romance' were fantastic but zero chemistry between the main leads.
Kinda agree with most of your assessment but for King the Land. I have not seen any negative comment so far, all the opposite. Also what I have seen is great chemistry and lots of funny moments. It may not have had a great viewing rating at the time but the following of this drama has grown since it was shown and keeps growing. May not be on the top best 5 but it's not on the worst 5 either
What's new about king the land ? It's the same old same old love story told so many times before. It's famous only becaus of Yoona and Jun ho. People wouldn't give a second glance if there were two relative unknown actors because let's be honest here, the plot is boring and downright average. It's a decent drama at best. There are tons of dramas better that King the land this year.
Stopped watching after several episodes. Storyline is boring and predictable! JunHo is a good actor but I think they should have chosen a different actress! The chemistry was one
sided! I agree that the ONLY reason this film became famous is due to the "fanbase" of the 2 K Pop Idol.
What made KTL so refreshing is the mature love the two leads had for each other. More importantly was how they handled issues/conflicts quickly and not drag them out for several episodes like some dramas do. And yes the attraction to the drama and its popularity was high was because of their fan base which includes me, so what's wrong with that? Of course we'll support and defend these two fine idols/actors in all their projects even if others think differently.

Do you seriously think the drama is as good as the hype it got ?! What ever happed to authenticity and quality over fanboying/fangirling for the leads ?! The drama is average to decent AT BEST. There have been better dramas and better acting performances than KTL in the last 2 months itself let alone this whole year. It's the idol culture in k-pop, doesn't matter if the song is actually technically good or quality wise is good enough to top the chart, what actually makes it top the charts are streams and votes that their fans keep on giving irrespective of the fact that the song is actually good or not. Quality takes a back seat everytime. That's why people have such fickle minded approach to k-pop and now it's slowly getting into k-dramas also, as below par or just average acting performance are overrated to the extent that people turn a blind eye to the actual quality of the content. Prime example is KTL. If this was some other star cast than Yoona or Jun ho, the drama would hardly get any traction.

What?! I watched King The Land and Business Proposal. Of the two I would watch King The Land again! It was refreshing that in King The Land their confession of love for each other didn't happen in the last episode like many other Kdramas. The underlying message was also great....that love can cross society's boundaries. Both my husband and I really enjoyed this drama and would put it in our top 5, not bottom!!
So true about Kind the land. It was the same old recycled love story just with two famous actors which is the ONLY reason it is so famous. The story is average at best. Its so relaxing that it becomes predictable and boring . Nothing special about it. And kdramas have moved on to better plotlines in this year itself, so i understand why it doesnt come in the top 5 or top 10 or even top 15 for me. The drama is average at best.

King the Land was delightful, warm,pretty,beautiful,exciting,and just what I needed on summer Saturday afternoons-Junho and Yoona were warm and sweet as the loving couple-the other cast members were also warm hearted-every drama do not have to be blood and guts for it to be (the best) and business proposal was good but I prefer KTL. I love all the places the drama visited so intoxicating-such places such as Thailand and the places by the sea in SKorea--i totally disagree with you and the drama had great viewership on Netflix and rated high in SKorea- Also Junho had high rankings in SKorea--I say total 🤑NO to what you are saying about KTL

There are at least two kdramas this year that are way worse than any of these - The Heavenly Idol and Kokdu. These two are up there with the worst dramas I’ve ever watched. My favourite dramas so far this year have been The Glory, The Good Bad Mother, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and Bloodhounds.
King the land is good but I dropped it at episode 6 because it got boring and predictable
I don't agree with King The Land. It was a light, fun, predictable Kdrama. You didn't have to think too much or stress over what's gonna happen next. You watch it to decompress.
I couldn't say that King The Land is the worst because there are others that are much worse. It may not be the best because I find some loopholes, but when we watch, we just want to be entertained, and King The Land gave us that kind of entertainment.

I absolutely agree with your assessment of King the Land. Stopped watching after the first several episodes. JunHo is a good actor, handsome and was very sexy and sensual, in his role. However, the story itself was just mediocre and silly for a mature audience. I also think they could have selected a better actress. Yoona is more of a one-dimensional, comedic actress and a bit of a tomboy. However, the ONLY reason that this film was famous was because of the fanbase of the 2 K Pop Idols. Without JunHo and Yoona, this film would not have even been noticed!!!

Bora Deborah was way better than King the Land. The main leads had good chemistry and the show had me rooting for the couple to get together in the story.

I share your opinion even if I enjoyed King the land because of Junho and it was funny. But I would also add that the end was rushed... It could have lasted a few more episodes.
As far as Our blooming youth, I did not like the female lead acting with PHS, to me they did not have a great chemistry.

It's with Neitzens viewership ratings WHICH IS UNFAIR because most are not going to watch a Drama because who their favorite actors and actresses are in the Drama and not liking an unpopular storyline. 😒😞
To me viewership ratings are mostly because of I would've done the Drama BETTER than so and so rather than enjoying the creativity of what the DRAMAS ARE ABOUT. YES Dramas tend to have life lessons which we LOVE BUT When they don't why do we say that they're the worst. Looking at them for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES as if they are REAL FACTS will ALWAYS be so damaging. There should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the DRAMAS.🤔🧐🤨

Watch what you want to watch to make your own assessment of that Drama believe me everyone's taste in a DRAMA isn't the same. I love Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin, BUT I haven't finished Crash Landing On You nor have I finished Descendants Of The Sun does that mean that they are the worst DRAMAS!!??!! NOOOOOOOO ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's surprising that King the Land was 5th. It should be 1st, the worst drama of all times. Let's see how many production awards (other than Best couple award) this drama will receive. Great visuals and irrelevant kissing scenes do not equate to a great story.
You hit the nail on the head with most dramas! I was looking forward to watching King the land but after 2 episodes, I couldn't bring myself to watching the rest. I think they should have has a different female lead. I loved Business proposal so much more. I feel so sorry for Junho this drama won't win him an award. I enjoyed Our blooming youth and shouldn't be on that list...

To each it's own, but I found BP dull. Dropped it after a few episodes. For me though KTL was totally fun and entertaining to watch. Yoona and Junho's chemistry was on fire. Perfect together.
