Probably a very unpopular opinion, since people are already sick of these missiles, but there shouldn't be a missile diamond for them, since the way that you spot a missile being on it's way in real life is by the smoke trail, which the 9m is specifically engineered not to have, thus not being spottable unless you can see the missile in flight or coming off the rail.
Now some people might say that the missile diamond is inherently unrealistic, and while I agree to an extent, both the markers that you get for missiles and enemies aswell as ground targets are simulations of what your pilot sees/what your systems display.
Positions of enemy aircraft would be shared through AWACS or Datalink systems, while ground targets would be designated on your map pre mission and depending on the aircraft updated live in flight.
The missile diamond is nothing more than your pilot visually tracking the missiles smoke plume as it flies (which is also why the missile diamond goes away once the missile stops burning).
I do realize that a lot of people are unsatisfied at how unflareable the missiles in the game currently are, but at the end of the day, the community keeps asking for more advanced jets with more advanced missiles, and then turns right around and complains when the missiles with ECCMs (R-73, the M and L Sidewinder and so on) actually works as intended and ignores countermeasures, but at the end of the day, we play war thunder because it's one of the more realistic depiction of most of these vehicles, and people literally leak classified documents just because a tank's armour is 20 millimeters off it's actual thickness, so if we start implementing tons and tons of unrealistic nerfs into aircraft now, then where do we even go in the future?
