Yeah this rig doesn't seem very efficient, usually they use a bike with the tire right on the rail and an outrigger setup to keep it on track, there are several examples on YT.
@@PatGilliland In springtime I will show the foldable mastertype. this one was just to prove if it works. the idea behind it: an easy to handle railbike which you can use on any gauge. the load you can carry is about 400 kgs. the gear shift of the bike allows any speed.
Oh! MY! Gawd! Bloody hard work. But suitable for an Iron Man Championship _"train"-ing_ schedule. If a Cow sleeps on the track, you can practice weight lifting and Rodeo skills to broaden the _"train"-ing_ schedule
Really cool platform! What a charming little line too! I wish I could go for a stroll along it. For a railcar with better torque ratio for more speed, I suggest replacing the rear drive wheels with something with wider diameter. It may require more complex redesign to keep the drive axle under the frame: for the drive wheels, use two bike wheel rims, with one side of the flanges removed so it can fit in the rails like railcar wheels.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Please Look at my latest railbike Videos, they show the final version of the bike platform. The speed we reach with a regular bike was 28km/h, with an e-bike we reach 40km/h. You can now easily dismantle it in two easy to handle parts. The next one will be a platform for regular gauge with two bikes side by side.
The bike has a landing tire size of 622 millimeters, the wheel diameter is about 675 millimeters, visually if you compare the track with the wheel diameter, it is most likely 600 mm than some other width.
I can't help but think that just cycling without the rail truck would be a whole lot easier.

I was thinking it's really geared down. What you could do with this setup is pull some relatively heavy loads.
@@PatGilliland "... relatively heavy loads" on absolutely level tracks at the very most.
but not on railtracks ;-)

Какой смысл делать такое передаточное число на ж/д дрезину?
That's nice, to much work.😢
This seems like an inefficient way to travel. But the scenery is nice
What was the purpose of the track to begin with? It would be fun with a motorized car.
Hi Gerald,
a long ago it was a narrow gauge railway, 11 Kilometer long, in a vineyard.
Wikipedia: Feldbahn Serrig
Best regards
Walter
Klasse abgestrampelt! 😜
I cannot understand the point in this!
At least you won't get a flat.
What's the point? --- Much easier to ride the bike in the normal way on a paved trackway.
Why?
Because it's fun
@@walterdiehm9209 if it looked like fun I wouldn't have asked the question 😂
You need a horn on the bicycle draiseine.
I'm using a wooden train whistle 😁, Sounds great and the reaction of the people is always funny.
They jump in panic off the track. Evil me 🤟
It looks brutally slow. I would rather walk.
Maybe IT looks slow, but it isn't
Just needs an engine …
e-bike
There has to be a better way of doing this so it doesn't take so much leg power to go fastee
you can use an e-bike
Put a motor cycle on it
Your pedaling fast and only going walking speed that sucks.
Hi,
as I described before, this is a very gradient track.
But with the gears it's easy to handle.
