Reach felt the most grounded and realistic. The weapons looked and felt heavy and rigid and mechanical. The UNSC looked tactical and militaristic. The Covenant looked alien, terrifying, and brutal.
What I liked the most was how the armour looked used. Like, the armour looked like it had been through war. All the scratches and dents show it's seen some action
I agree with this and as much as reach customization would be a dream come true in infinite but I think I would break the game to the chief with custom armour in a cutscene
Conn0rized Galo 2 aniversario is oop bc of graphics and the damn mechanics, dual wielding is introduced, the chtscenes in remastered look better than any movie I have seen, and oh don’t even talk ab the arbiter gameplay. But sort of agree on reach , they could have made it more emotional of sorts, like the team deaths weren’t that impactful, the only one that trully hurt was noble 6.
reddit knights lol more emotional to anything in the other halos the only one to be among them or surpass it was chief losing Cortana which had like 4 games and over a decade to grow attached to the character. Being in the boots of a spartan team it gives you emotion on a different scale since they are supposed to be machine like.
“I think Halo 4 is a damn good game and much better than Halo Reach...” That’s a pretty unpopular opinion but I guess I can see why someone would feel that way given how polarizing Reach was- “...and Halo 2” *SOON THE GREAT JOURNEY SHALL BEGIN. BUT WHEN IT DOES, THE WEIGHT OF YOUR HERESY WILL STAY YOUR FEET, AND YOU SHALL BE LEFT BEHIND.*
The Halo Reach art style was honestly my favorite. I felt that it preserved the style of the original Halo titles, but, as you said with the marines, made it a bit more gritty and realistic. It made me look at Spartans in a different way; as soldiers, not machines. Which, I guess is probably what they were going for, considering the overall tone of the game. I agree with you on Halo 4 and forward, however. All the enemies, locales, everything just feels.... I don't know, like, generic sci-fi. Like they plastered a layer of Stargate over everything.
mike fontenot yeah I mean as a kid playing Halo CE and Halo 2, I always assumed Master Chief and the Spartans in general were these advanced robots or something. By Halo 3 I realised this wasn't the case but the armour always felt too robotic and stiff/rigid for it be actually plausible for a human (even a genetically modified one) to use for a long period of time. Reach on the other hand kept the robotic style but made the Spartans armour look more like it was designed for a human to actually wear and not be part of a machine.
Maria The Ripper I got to totally agree, I mean the design not the weathering and that stuff, the designs are better even tho they need some scratches, bags and use to look badass. Just imagine those armors with that circumstances, damn that’s cool. Like, take one halo 4/5 armor and add to it some halo reach stuff, definitely cool af
Maria The Ripper i found halo 3 and reach spartan armour to look like plastic, i think it was the color scheme. Still like 1 to 3 much better, didnt even like halo 2's elites when it first came out, too round, they were thin in 1, eventually it grew to me, love that 3 pointed helmet.
Yeah Halo 3 was super plasticky looking and honestly I kinda dig that look. Makes it look like someone is telling a story with brightly colored action figures.
I also can't understand why 343 changed sounds for weapons like needler, energy sword, plasma pistol. Energy sword in Halo 1/2/3 had a distinct sharp activaion sound. Now it's just a generic "energy weapon turn on" noise.
I thought they looked the best in Halo 2 (anniversary or original). They were just so noble and sleek looking, and whenever they talked you got the sense that they were honorable warriors, not brutes. Halo 5 has by far the worst design imo. They are basically the brutes now lol.
Got to agree, Halo Reach had a bit on an art style change because if was a prequel. The sleek designs of weapons and such came over time in the other games. Halo 4's Elite looked like little kid in the dads over sized armor. A bunch of sucked up speed freaks in cos-play. I really loved the imposing presence the Elites had in Halo Reach, I also really like the way the looked in H1 - H3. Halo 4's art style made the Spartans look like a bunch of glammed up transformers. Hot trash.
Augustus Sinclair To be fair though, the entire idea of Reach was to tell the gritty story of Spartans who were bred to die. If anything CoD became influenced by Halo, as they started adding exosuits and space themes and fucking aliens of all things to compete and hide the fact that they’re just rehashing the same story over and over again
Thugish? The elites in Halo Reach looked like BEASTS, I don't mean in the animal way, but I mean in the way that they looked stronger and more fearsome than in halo 1-3. Now 4 and beyond looked like brutes.
The thing that they were going for in Reach was practicality. The UNSC weren't at their technological height in Halos 2, 3, and 4, and seeing how it was a prequel, they changed it to look more gritty. The Spartans looked a lot bulkier because they had to pack up more armor. Same with the covenant. The weapons didn't look super shiny because they were out in the field of battle, gathering dirt, grit, and scratches, and whatnot. Reach's art style was damn good.
SOMEGUY7893 Yeah, but Halo CE still had limitations. The Mark V was not as technologically advanced as the Mark VI, and the armor in Halo CE was really bulky, so my point still stands.
XD I think Everybody in the comment section besides LNG likes Halo Reach's Artstyle. it's his opinion and I don't mind. ex: I loved Reach I loved H4 Loved H3 (but not the plot) Hated H5 Disliked CE ( for the first 3 missions) Did not like H2 Hated ODST My opinion and only about 1/2000 people share that opinion. everybody has em.
Yeah nothing wrong with that dude. ODST has my favorite soundtrack and the atmosphere was...different kind of. For me the charctors and campaign fell short and the variety was iffy. No BR come on. Anyway some of the levels just didn't fit and the main plot is again pretty odd. Thats my opinion only though.
DonMega1313 I'm not really talking so much about the colors (Even though im not sure what you mean... with being "Grey) But every in Halo 4, even down to the armor. IS fucking ugly as all hell.
I really liked the grit and grime of the Spartan armor in Reach. You could see scratches and chipping paint. I loved it. And the elite armor variants were fucking sexy.
The only thing that sucked about Reach: - Butchering the Halo: Fall of Reach lore Bungie had since 2001. - Nerfing the Campaign compared to Halo 3: no tank-tank battles, no battle rivalling the 2 Scarabs combat on The Covenant mission. - Armor Lock. - Bloom. - Non-Halo 1 Anniversary maps in Reach mostly suck in simplistic & memorable designs. Halo: CE had like Boarding Action & Derelict, Halo 2 had Midship & Lockout, Halo 3 had Guardian & Construct, etc. Although to be fair, Anchor 9 in Reach is also awesome. And really, that's it! Reach was close to perfection. I loved how both online & splitscreen, we had Campaign, Firefight, Customs & Forge to be spoilt over. Whereas in 4 & 5? meh.
Valdric Lim -Well they're not gonna do a game that takes place over the course of less then a day. That'll be a really dumb idea -It doesn't really work with what type of team Noble Team is. In previous games, Chief was a Battlefield changer, he can win the battlefield just by him being there. Noble team, while they can do that, they're more of a commando squad, going around the main battle to strike at where it hurts most. -TBH, I never really cared about Armor lock, I'll almost say it's bloody useless...unless it's to laugh at some fool in a ghost. You become a immobile, cannot fight back, rock, woopy fucking do. Rather take the Bubble shield in halo 3 and Reach. Least they are useful. -don't really remember seeing any bloom
***** oh no, for at most 5 seconds. Also, their shields don't regen while in armor lock, so if you were kicking their ass, a armor lock isn't gonna change much
+Valdric Lim To be fair, Fall of Reach had some details that needed to be retconned before Halo: Reach. I mean, were we really supposed to believe Elites were a newly discovered on Reach when they they were seen on Harvest 30 years earlier?
Mustafa Curgu So this is what my father found. I thought LNG was some kind of heretic. -It is. If subscribed to enough this channel will cause hate against the best game ever on a galactic scale.
Halo Reach was the best, if you saw Bungie’s vidoc they’re goal was to make halo more realistic and ground it in reality. I just wish the Spartans were taller looking.
Agreed, Bungie SUCCESSFULLY did what 343 tried to do; they kept Halo feeling like Halo while still making it more gritty/realistic looking. 343 achieved the gritty/realism look, but sacrificed the essence that made it still look like Halo.
Imo, I don't think Halo 4 is better than Reach, but more like in similar spots on a leaderboard. I'm yet to finish Combat Evolved, 2, and ODST on MCC, but I've finishes the other Halo games (minus Spartan assault and the RTS games) I like Halo 4 because that was the first Halo game I'd played. Reach has told one of my favorite stories in general and the art style is nice. I also like Halo 4 because of it's story and, you can make fun of me, tha art style. The art style difference is like Day and Night, but I really like both stories. Both tell a dark story (within their own game). (Taken from LNG's vid on Halo 4 Retrospective) Halo 4 is a story about a child soldier, whose so mentally damaged that he can't even process losing one of, if not, the only person keeping him somewhat grounded. (Before Blue Team) Reach tells a war story about sacrifice and compromise, with an impending doom approaching. Yes, I know, I had to learn about 4's story via LNG's video, but I don't even play games in general for story. I just play them for fun. Story is a by-product imo. A fun one too, depending on how good it is. If you've made it to here, congratulations on being able to read the stroke that just came out of my mouth, because I did not make any sense at all, did I?
One thing I loved about Halo was the art styles it gave to different factions. It made so much sense that they'd look the way they do. The covenant looked alien, strange and different, like something we don't understand. The UNSC looked familiar, military, and modern, like our actual militaries. The Forerunners looked ancient, mysterious, and utilitarian, like something we can't comprehend. Now the Covenant looks ugly, the UNSC looks power ranger and sci-fi, and Forerunners look over designed.
Jackhills The elite You mean different races, bro? Different species would mean we wouldn't see any grunts, jackals, elites, or hunters. Although that would be interesting.
My only complaint about Halo Reach at this point is the animation, it feels slow compared to the other games. It's not a horrible thing, but it's very noticeable now.
@@JayPlusForerunner never said halo 4 and 5s armor looked good in the first place…… just said 3s armor looked really plastic like. That why I like halo reach and infinite’s approach to armor a lot better
and I'd just like to state that you are completely wrong that halo 4 is better than reach and 2. not only is it an extremely unpopular opinion it's strait up wrong. I'd also like to say that the real mindless people are the people who like 343 games and them trying to make halo call of duty
TheMad Dog the elites looked cool, but their mechanics of how they move and react on the battlefield was bad. they were BULLET fast and it was just pathetic, felt like you were fighting skirmishers with overshields and an ability to melee you to death lol . in terms of how an elite should run and move etc , the CE elites did it the best
TheMad Dog I also agree that he is wrong about 4 being better than 2, but it's his opinion and he could hate on the popular opinion as much as he wants just like you are
I agree. My only real gripe with Halo Reach’s art: the Brutes. They looked cool, but I felt like they could have furthered the look from Halo 3 and added more.
andrew I disagree. My first Halo game was the first. So, that tosses that: “fake fans” thing out the window. Even though it’s all opinion, it’s fine to like either. Though, I feel Reach takes Halo’s art and expands on it, which is why I like it.
That's because you're a kiddie who played Reach first. Halo 1-3 IS HALO. Reach is not. And 4 and 5 should be burned, and the people responsible need to be fired and beaten in the streets.
literally everything you described you didnt like about halo reach’s design was why i loved it’s design. halo ce, 2 & 3 looked like videogames. reach looked like halo if it was real. best halo ever.
I personally didn't mind the jump from Halo 3 to Reach, but the jump from reach to 4 was too much. I loved the Grunt design in reach but, Halo 4 didnt really carry the same vibe. Same with the shotgun. I could get over the sniper but it just isn't the same compared to Halo 1 and 2. (Halo 2 was my fav)
Agreed! The Halo Shotgun had such an iconic design that should not be changed (same With the Rocket Launcher), so I really hates when they made that light gray overly complicated thingy.
To be honest, in my opinion I didn't mind the art style in Halo 4. But the art style for Halo 5 looks too cartoony to me and really pushed me away from Halo 5.
Adriel Klein Halo Reach had such a grim gray look. Love the soundtrack, story was decent, and the level designs were ok not great but not bad. Decent Halo game, but the gameplay was completely ruin by the poorly designed weapons, worst weapons in any Halo game.
@@jerome0929 The weapons were fine you jsut didn't like bloom. The gritty, darker look was perfect for Reach. Everyone who was a Halo fan knew what happened to Reach, we knew how it would end from the start. The art style reflected the fact that this was a war we were going to lose, everyone would die in the end, no hero to save the day, but heroes who would give their lives to buy a chance for others. The art style looked more realistic, more detailed, but still looked like Halo. If Halo never updated it's graphics we'd be playing fortnite.
I hate everything about 343's art design but I have to disagree with you I LOVED! reaches art design. The gritty worn art design has stuck with me every sense and It just makes halo feel more military and badass.
I agree I always felt like the covenant was basically just smooth and sleek alien islam (from medieval times, not modern times) and reach kind of captures it perfectly.
Spartan Négué The pelican simply can't fly due to it's design, The warthog looks toyish, The weapons look generic and modern The scorpion is actually pretty good
Your just whiner Alex lunch the Worthhog looks like a real off-road / military vehicle the Scorpion something out of the 2558 era the pelican looks like something we can design and you said it can't move it's a forge prop and the weapons look badass okay that's all
Even though Halo Reach did some very sinister shit to the series it did have the best art. The armor was breath taking and the medals... oh my fucking god the medals were overwhelmingly beautiful. Then 343 had to fuck up both of those things. Yeah they have good intentions but why?
Yeah I loved Reach's designs for armour, they felt like realistic and the battledamage on the armour make it feel so much more real. Though I did not like some of the designs of the weapons, I did really like the style I also dont really like Halo 4's design. I like some aspects, some armour pieces look realistic, but most just flat out looked like a kids sci-fi fantasy or as if it belonged in an anime, but I also like some weapon redesigns (battlerifle and the Warthog). Not going to cover Halo 4, fuck Halo 5
CrazyDutchguy I can respect Halo 5 as a good game but both of those games are the most ugly things I've seen. There was absalutley no reason to vandalize the medals and armor the way they did. just look at the thumbnail and look at the grunt on the right. No charm and no class.
I liked the look of Halo Reach's medals but there were too damn many of them, medals used to feel special but now you get more medals than kills in Halo games and I think that's ridiculous
RepresentWV You wanna say Halo Reach has too many medals? wait till you play Halo 5. But I do agree with you medals should be treated as rewards and not indicators of what you've done
Even tough 3 is by far my favorite, there's something really special om ODST.I just can't quite put my finger on it.The armor looks the best(in my opinion), and there's a... ...feel to it that sets it apart and makes ODST what it is.
Matheus Rotta odst had the best atmosphere 3 had the best gameplay Reach had the best art and customization 2 was a better CE and set the improve this ideology that questionable led to halo 4 & 5
a lot of problems in destiny come from the contract that bungie had signed with activision, which basically completely destroyed their original design intentions for destiny. In any case it's not really excusable, but at the same time the development story of destiny is a tragedy in its own right.
Halo is going through an identity crisis. I have hope for the next Halo to incorporate innovative changes that maintain a more... Halo-esque formula for Narrative, Coopertive, and competative play.
TheAgentTexas Ruined...? The narrative may have changed greatly in it's delivery and execution, but a genuinely good episode of post-Bungie Chief is liable to be immediately recognized. If Halo as a series was ruined, I highly doubt there would be as much of the community expressing frustration and a desire for something better as they are now. Some core fans clearly still care and that is enough room for something great to be made, enjoyed and recognized by Halo fans abroad.
Benny Alves Let me elaborate what I mean cause I think there was a little miss interpretation. The campaign was great until halo 4. They should ditch the story from 4 and 5. The older stuff is still very good stuff which is why people (like me) are expressing frustration with the current state of halo. We love the old theme and art style. 343 has not done a good job at all of keeping the theme and art of past halo. Changing the gameplay is one thing but the core underlying elements of the story is not acceptable. The theme of the original trilogy, I would say, is exploration and mystery. You have this weird but amazing sci fi world that is just amazing to explore for the same reason why someone would want to explore the dwemer ruins in skyrim. This is also what brings in the mystery aspect of not fully knowing what you are exploring but then you have these opposing factions fighting over the mystery. In halo 4 I do not get the sense of exploration or mystery. All i get is that there is a bad guy who hates us and we need to stop him.
Benny Alves I think in halo 6 they should make the RB and LB buttons at the same time for Xbox switch through the Halos. I'm not sure how they would make the suppressed in halo 1,2, and 3 tho.
How do you want it to become more gritty when the perfect blend of simplicity and grittiness was halo reach yet you have this hot take that halo reach art style is mediocre
@@Dwyer-nl9fz that's vastly different from saying "you know I prefer these things in X (x has all the things preferred by the person) but I hope they don't make Y like X because I didn't like the things in X" do you see how contradictory that statement is? yeah it's a matter of opinion but people are equally as welcome to call your opinion fallacious when they perceive it to be so
ThuggaThuggaBaby I was just saying it’s his opinion. If he doesn’t like halo reach’s art Direction thats fine. Not saying you have to agree with it. I was just stating you should respect it.
Late night: I want 343 to make grittier halo games Reach: *is a grittier halo game* Late night: HALO 4 IS BETTER THAN HALO REACH AND 2 also late night: I DONT LIKE HALO REACHS ART STYLE Me: wtf
Nah it makes sense imo. Reach brutes are when they were still heavy troopers that were designed to elicit fear in the UNSC ranks. Halo 3 brutes look more like Elites, seeing as they were just put into power to take the Elites' place as the top military species in the Covenant.
Totally agree, with the grit and the scratches and gear that wasn't too pronounced and was designed to be practical down-to-earth military gear, plus a lot of the enemies looked more within the realm of possibility than in 4-5. Some of the new armors seemed cool in the new ones but they lost me on Halo 4's chicken neck Spartans. ugh. I'll say this, some of the mechanics in the new ones seem like a step in the right direction, but the art is not really my taste at the moment.
2 years later and this video is making me cringe at myself lol DEFINITELY could have worded and voiced it less aggressively. Good thing is that this video made an impact :P cant wait to see the old visual style return
I'm with you on a bunch of it. The changes was kind of hit and miss. I loved the Spartan's armor sets, but yeah, some were bad. It actually had the best armor, but ODST still had the best "horde mode" which we had been wanting since Halo 1. Also, I never noticed the watcher face or legs. Also it would fit as a husk.
LateNightGaming this was an incredibly well made video that made it's point very clear in an agreeable and black and white manor, it's well said and expressed in a very human way, unlike the content of Halo 4 onwards per say
Reach is easily my favorite.. I like the armors, level of detail, the fact that Master Chief isn't in it, & everyone (except Jun) dies..It shows that some sacrifice everything & aren't ridiculously overpowered just because fans like you
I... agree completely. Nothing really else to say. I think Halo 3 is the best looking Halo game, with Reach as kinda a sister to it, while Halo 4/5.... feels like a different franchise.
I always thought that Bungie's Halo had a horrible art style. Even in Halo 3 and Reach I never felt like they got it. In particular the darkness of Reach. The lighting there was awful. I liked 3's ideas and concepts, but it looked like it had been massively oversimplified and like they had added detailed textures onto a low-poly art style, which I didn't too much mind; It was 2007. Graphics were meh for the time. Reach I think solved this issue for me by giving the spartans this look which really sold to me that they are men in machine-enhanced armour, and made it look like the armour was actually desinged for different situations. One look at Jorge and you could tell he's your heavy weapons guy. One look at Jun and you could tell he's your team's sniper. Halo 4/5 sorta threw that out of the window, but it has a few designs which I like. The Covenant look terrible and I immediately thought to myself; "Why do they all have the same skin?". I would have been okay with it if the classic black-skinned Elites from Halo 2 made a return WITH the new designs to add some variation and if you added in Halo Reach's leathery Elites and I would have said it was perfect. That way you could actually use the excuse of "there's multiple races of one species". Halo 5 nailed the covenant vehicle and equipment look. That stuff actually looks alien. The UNSC in both games? Heh, no. The art style in 4/5 works fantasticly with Reach's designs. Look at Jun's in Halo 5. It's Bungie's functional-looking design in a new environment that isn't in a state of perpetual darkness and where people can't take care of what they wear. They look better than they did in Reach by a long shot. Why aren't we designing our armour like that? They're trying to sell to me that Venerator is designed for stealth operations, but what is stealthy about it? It's so sharp and overly complex! That's more alien looking than the COVENANT OF ALIEN RACES! I 100% agree with the Forerunner stuff though. 4/5 nailed it but overuse the same few colours and all of that floaty stuff.
Yeah, halo reach was peak art style "the elites were more thuggish looking" they were the opposite, in halo 3 they were big bulky hunched guys in halo reach they stood tall and were more slim
I assume you mean in cutscenes the elites look big and bulky? You don't fight a single elite in halo 3 and the only ones you see are in cutscenes or in 3-4 player co-op
I think my biggest gripe with the new art style sits with the marines. Not only have they changed the way they look, but you rarely, RARELY fight alongside them and when you do they suck ass! Fighting along marines in Halo 3, especially on Tsavo Highway and The Storm was awesome!
4's design of the Elites makes me want to vomit. I feel the need to put them down not as a respectable threat to the universe, but out of pity from what the Covenant/343 has done to them. Poor suckers- they deserved better.
Damn they look very thuggish deep savage voices and unnecessary big body parts especially the damn head the old school elites are better designed but in reach they kinda became thuggish
I thought Reach's art style was the best out of all of them, with the only exceptions being the brutes and the Assault Rifle. Halo 4 and 5 had the art style of Power Rangers meets Titanfall.
"Halo 4 was better than Reach and 2" No it wasn't. Let's look at Halo 2 Halo 2's story introduced us to the covenant side of things, introduced us to the arbiter, the prophets, and showed us what type of civilization the covenant had. The actions that happened in halo 1 have a direct cause for Halo 2. As in, we see arbiter getting punished for the destruction of the halo ring. While the humans are celebrating, the covenant is acting out punishment for their defeat. Without the Arbiter, we wouldn't have a protagonist to introduce us to the covenant. The shipmaster would also be scraped. Not to mention we wouldn't have playable elites. If the arbiter was non-existent, in Halo 3 we would be fighting villain's we know next to nothing about. Obviously because of time restraints, certain elements of the game were broken. Like Legendary difficulty. But the game still was amazing. The multiplayer was fun, and hectic at certain points, I feel as if it was another key element that was bringing people together to play halo. Okay. Let's look at reach. Reach's story was beautiful. It's the only setting based story I know. reach is the main story. And noble team is a side story. The characters seemed like stereotypes, but would sometimes deviate. Like Carter. He's supposed to be the Commander, always going for the mission. But in the intro on Long Night Of Solace, we see him listening to what Kat has to say, and actually going along with Kat's plan. Not to mention that before that happens, Jorge and Jun start talking about the situation. Jun asks Jorge who "he's got his money on this time" and Jorge says Kat. Jun then says "you always pick her." And Jorge replies with "she's always had him dialed in." Which means whenever Noble gets into a clutch situation those two go at it. All of Noble's deaths showed us the horrors' of war. These Spartans are seen as invincible beings, but they aren't invincible. Not everyone in war gets a glorified death. People in war have died for their cause and we will never know their name. Not to mention each of their deaths are ironic. The ending perfectly closes out the story, and it leads straight to CE. The multiplayer may have some annoying elements with armor lock and bloom but that's really it. All the maps are from the campaign which is kind of lazy but it made me feel a part of the Reach story as we were fighting at real places in the timeline. Invasion was one of if not the best game modes in Halo history. Custom games were amazing. enough said. Armor customization was the best, the game felt much more militaristic and gritty. The gungnir helmet was and still is one of my favorites. The art style in this game was amazing. It took firefight, a simplistic gamemode from ODST and improved it. So much customization! And forge. The best forge in halo, only Halo 5 forge can beat it. You have to play it yourself! So fun. It took Halo 3s forge and improved it.
Okay now let's look at halo 4: Story was much less relatable, the characters were forgettable, Del rio was terrible, no really funny Lines beside Conan O'Brien's lines in that one mission, shortest campaign, we were introduced to enemies who were just bland robots, and the game had the mist linear veichle sections. And the game restricts you to a certain strategy, Elite melee animations were 10 frames (1/6 second) and projectile tracking was too powerful. You only had the option to take everything out from Range. If you got up close, you were dead. Multiplayer messed up the sandbox because now you could spawn with certain weapons, and you couldn't just spawn with an AR and Magnum and find your weapons. It tried so hard to be COD. Forge was the most restrictive that Black Plasma Studios made parody of it. Just watch it. Halo 4 forge is the most restrictive in alll of the games. Spartan Ops was just meh. The Art style change was also bad. i couldn't help but feel animosity towards 343 because they hadn't proved anything but that they would change our beloved Halo series. So no. Halo 4 is not better than 2 and Reach.
that's interesting i found the Reach Ultra Elites to be one of the better designed elites. Halo Reach had the art style i found the best for the game. Gritty and militaristic just like the game. opinions for you.
I'm still upset Bungie gave us the skirmishers then nothing was ever done with them again. Plus the new jackals looked like fish or something, not birds.
Yeah. But the reason why i think the grainy look of H2 couldn't work for 4&5 is because humanity was coming out of the faulty defense and into attack. Which means they actually get a break to look nice and clean & repair themselves up.
This is the perfect time to go back, as much as I hate it, with overlord Cortana being a thing and her ability to track Forerunner technology, the U.N.S.C might have to be forced to use older equipment than what they've been using (a lot of the newer technology uses Forerunner technology if I remember correctly).
The reason reach looked like that was because it was supposed to be less streamlined due to it being earlier versions of the equipment from the later games, which got more streamlined as time went on. Halo 4 and later has no excuse.
@@scottmckinny6879 another explanation was different variants of the equipment being used. Remember, a portion of the UNSC on reach were the army and not the navy which is what you primarily bump elbows with.
Here is what every halo artstyle is best looking Marines: Reach Spartans: Halo 3 and reach Elites: Halo 3 and Reach Brutes: Halo 3 and 2 Veichles and weapons: Halo wars 2 Promeatheans: Halo 4 but Halo 5 has some classic things in it And here are the worst things each artstyle has Elites: 343 halo (apart from Halo 2A campaign elites) Assult Rifle: Halo Reach Spartans: 343 halo Forerunners: 343 does not look bad but 343 forrunners don't look like forrunners at all
the elites of halo reach seemed more badass, I sincerely hate the elites, I'm not saying that the best elites are those of halo reach, I have only said that they look much more appealing, they seem much stronger and even higher, if I said something that does not convince you, write a comment, I accept any kind of answer, obviously not offensive
But the swords of sanghelios elites are actually the halo 3 elites on our side but 343 was stupid and made our allied elites look like storm covenant even the arbiter 😩🤦♂️
Sure, it looks more realistic, but watch the video and listen to our complaints. They changed the art STYLE not QUALITY to pander to people like you: People with Call of Duty profile pictures. I don't think Aurora means graphics, though. I'm pretty sure he likes Halo 2 better because of the story. Halo 2's storyline and method of story telling is just... better.
Boo Hop well I said that it looks better in art style in my comment and I'm like halo way better than any COD. I only cod because of zombies and multiplayer
Halo reach was my favorite game to play, the multiplayer was amazing, and the firefight mode had amazing replayability. I loved unlocking new armor and grinding for hours just to get it
Technically, the Prometheans were a class of Warrior Servants in service to the Didact. They started out as ordinary Forerunners but were composed to give them an edge against the Flood. When the Didact started to run out of soldiers that's when he used humans to make a new army of Prometheans. They are not all human.
Um, Reach had the best art style, it looked more functional & real world and consistent with a world at war. It just was overdone with Halo 4 & had more “look how crazy I can get” & somehow looked less functional, overly curvy, slimy and garish, especially with the Covenant. And yes, lose the floaty bits & shininess of the forerunner characters & structures. Crawlers never made sense to me
Apollo Alexandre No need to be aggressive. Halo 3’s art style is definitively iconic, and nobody can argue that it’s the most Halo of any of the games. I just think that the more human approach to how the art was done in Reach compliments the story and atmosphere a bit better than Halo 3’s art worked with the campaign- not to say it was bad in any respect, it just felt like the flaws present in the Reach designs added to the fact that humanity didn’t really have its shit together when repelling the Reach invasion, and immerses you more into the “humans fighting for their life” rather than “super soldier destroying alien artifacts on distant worlds”. The Reach approach was a hell of a lot more human based than any prior Halo campaign, so it meshes better. The Halo CE-3 art style just wouldn’t have worked for a game like Reach. You don’t have to like it, but you can’t deny it fits better. Just my two cents.
Personally I find the trilogy halo games to have the best art style. The classic halo games were more vibrant and full of life while halo reach looks kind of washed out and bland. Just my opinion tho
Thank you LNG. You contributed to Halo's return to form, and how it is meant to look and feel with a bit of new art thrown in. The future of Halo is looking bright!
Halo reach was pretty good. There are three styles in my opinion Old (great) Reach(good) New(NOT GOOD) And that's why I like the new halo game to go back to the old style
"Even Killzone doesn't wanna look like Killzone." The hell is wrong with Killzone all of the sudden? The games have a great art-style, especially Killzone 2.
I remember when I first killed a Jackal in 343's games. I looked to my fellow Halo veteran friend and asked him: "What the fuck is this Godzilla 1998 thing doing here?"
GamingTalk2099 I'm aware about phenotypes and that stuff. Doesn't change the fact a decade long foe showing up looking different is going to surprise me.
+GamingTalk2099 you understand that that's just the excuse 343 is using right.... The skirmishers despite looking completely different in reach, still looked like jackals, and fit in. Plus humans still look alike there aren't humans with completely different bone structures running around.
I get that it's your opinion and you have a right to have that opinion but would you please go into more depth on why you think Halo 4 is a better game than Halo 2? I want to see what points you're going to make.
Bob Surviva Story wise I think halo 4 was a masterpiece. It was a much more focused story and more emotional. That said when it comes to badass moments 2 and 3 blow halo 4 out the water (mostly to do with lack of scarabs).
It may be because my first Halo-game was Halo 4 and I like games as long as they have a good story, but I don't have anything against the "new" Halo (I actually like the new forerunner-stile is better than the old). I read the books and played Halo:CE and Halo Wars and what I still think the most amazing thing about Halo and what binds me to this franchise is it's Story. It's the best Sci-Fi Story ever, better than Star Trek, Star Wars or anything (and I'm a big Star Wars fan)
Fartnockle Halo 2’s development is pretty infamous, long story short they were really rushed and were too ambitious, you can look all that up more if you want
It would definitely be a logistics nightmare for sure. Something the game devs in all honesty didn't really think about. You can relate it to all the variants of the M4s and M16s, drastically different designs depending on the version. However they all share the same ammunition 5.56.
Moral Sandwich Yeah... Removed my like after hearing that. Yes. It's your opinion, but dont just drop a bomb like that after all what you've said. Better than reach? Maybe... Better than Halo 2? Fuck no.
Lost me at "didn't really like the way Halo: Reach looked." I think, based on the design styles you like, you favor older graphic styles in general, more simplistic looks, not that there's anything wrong with that, it's beautiful and i appreciate those styles. With graphics only getting better though, things are going to look more realistic and more detailed and not like "mud" to better immerse players. I thought bungie was moving in a great direction with the Halo: Reach graphics update, i wouldn't say redisign because they're basically the same design, but just as you said, more detailed. Halo 4/5 on the otherhand was a redesign and a shit one at that, aside from a few things. Mostly had to do with characters. That's my 2 cents, don't really know why i wrote it but here it is.
At least the simplistic art style looked cool and unique. You don't need worse graphics to make a simple art style look good. Look at Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo Wars 2, and the trailers from Halo Infinite. They all have a relatively simple art style. Even Halo Wars 1 had a simple art style. Halo Wars 2 may have had more details but that's kind of like Reach levels of detail. There's simply too much going on with the art style in 5 especially. It needed to be toned down drastically and that's exactly what what Halo Wars 2 and Halo Infinite has done. We've gone back to the timeless, memorable, awesome art style the franchise originally had that should never have been changed in 4 and 5.
Reach was most certainly a redesign and not simply an update. That's not a bad thing though. The visual style of Reach matched its audio design and its story telling incredibly well but to say that it was a natural evolution of the halo graphic design is simply false. If I want to decorate a room and make it homely and inviting. I can place a warm oak table that is rounded, polished, and has 3-4 legs that are all curvacious and not imposing. Your logic is that if I want to make that room even more homely and inviting on a bigger budget - I should buy a table of mahogany. It should be rectangular, six legged, and be engraved and embossed on every inch. The simpler table doesn't look any less like a table made yesterday than your fancier, grittier mahogany table. It does, however, fit the style of the room I made it for. What I didn't tell you is that the mahogany table was to be part of an exhibit for a room about medieval wars. Halo is a Sci-fi military space opera. Halo Reach was a Military sci-fi space drama.
Halo CE art captured a feeling that was totally alien, mysterious, cold, and unsettling. The fact that the models and textures were undetailed somehow added to that feeling. The mood was perfect for what it was. Halo Reach was actually perfect for what it was as well in my opinion. The art style, especially the backgrounds, was absolutely gorgeous and looks like we all expected Reach would look like. Halo Reach captured the feeling of the books... the military seems more fleshed out, the equipment, their demeanor... everything feels more mature. Much more like Eric Nylund's painting of the halo universe. As for story, we all knew the outcome, yet the feels hit just as hard. And while the last stand of Reach was a desperate and wholehearted one, the fall was gradual... it really made the sense of despair linger as you realize Noble 6 had a lot of time to digest the sacrifice they were all making and ponder if it will make enough of a difference. I look at halo 4 and 5... and I just can't find anything notable that they give us. They're simply different, and not in a good way.
For me, Halo Infinite nailed the complete "Halo" look. With the return of the elites having their elegant, noble body styles, and the brutes becoming more hulking and huge. The armor in my opinion is one of my favorites, second only to reach. They look futuristic, but with the simplicity that you'd expect armor to look.
I'm a fan of the 4 and 5 art style because I can appreciate all the work the developers and artists put into the character models. I honestly think people only like the old art styles because of nostalgia.
Before the video starts here's how I see it. Halo CE -> Reach seems a natural progression of man-made human military armor that has been improved with advanced technology. With Reach being ranked slightly higher because it looked a little more rugged and less smooth, which gave it a more military feel. A real nice gritty look, yet still futuristic. Jump to 343 Halo, and it looks way to Alien and "modern" sci fi, where everything has been greeble'd up with way way to complicated intricate details that serve no purpose. It lost the tactical military look in favor for advanced far far futuristic sci-fi which I don't like.
You read my mind, Halo Reach felt like a proper military game set in the future but Halo 4 had too many useless details. like the armour looks backwards, not to mention had pieces that looked like they served no purpose like the bits of armour just stuck to the abs of the spartan
+George Moose I believe he was talking from an outside the lore perspective based on the release sequence of each game, because even if Reach is *set* before CE, it still introduced a lot of newer stuff and also because it came out long after they were able to upgrade the tech to run the game too so everything looked nicer.
Cao Cao Games it had better physics, more balanced PvP, it was more stable, had more maps and game modes, had forge mode, and had better graphics. To only mention a few things. I love Halo 2, but 3 was superior to it honestly.
This is full-on cringe
You mean everyone hating on you for stating the obvious about 4 being better than Reach?
Still relevant tbh but hey! Halo Infinite is on the horizon so hopefully it has that Trilogy design

In what regard? Are you looking back on your opinions and thinking they are cringe worthy or are you talking about the debate in the comments section?
Late Night Gaming no
Reach felt the most grounded and realistic. The weapons looked and felt heavy and rigid and mechanical. The UNSC looked tactical and militaristic. The Covenant looked alien, terrifying, and brutal.
I strongly agree
What I liked the most was how the armour looked used. Like, the armour looked like it had been through war. All the scratches and dents show it's seen some action

But sort of agree on reach , they could have made it more emotional of sorts, like the team deaths weren’t that impactful, the only one that trully hurt was noble 6.

Halo 2 is my fav but unlike other I understand why people might hate it
reddit knights lol more emotional to anything in the other halos the only one to be among them or surpass it was chief losing Cortana which had like 4 games and over a decade to grow attached to the character.
Yeah especially compared to Halo CE, I mean Master chief looked spit shined in that one lol
mike fontenot Gritty and realistic... you just lost all credibility
Jay Durr
I didn't know I had any to begin with 3:
Jay Durr But reach did look more gritty and realistic.
Actually I loved the reach art style, if I had to choose between a halo game art style from 1 to 5 I would say a mix between reach, 3 and 2A
code_ i love reach but also halo 4. It looks more professional and galactic. Not just military with cool helmets
WAYNE ENTERPRISES To me Halo 4 and Halo 5 looks like they are wearing plastic. The armour doesnt look real its doesnt look war torn or even pratical.
I agree with that, i loved the sound of the Halo 3 sword when you hit someone, in Halo 4-5 sounds very exaggerated and sooo fucking generic
THIS. God I miss the old plasma rifle sound.
Halo 1 i loved how if you changed your weapons you could clearly hear that amazing sound for weapons
I liked a lot of the old sounds but I always hated the energy sword. I actually use it now in Halo 2 (with new look) and in the 343 games
@@mazrimtaim3107 I much prefer the old energy sword sound.

No offense, but the Halo: Reach Elites are some of my favourites. They look like powerful Warriors, their armour looks wonderfully over-the-top
I thought they looked the best in Halo 2 (anniversary or original). They were just so noble and sleek looking, and whenever they talked you got the sense that they were honorable warriors, not brutes. Halo 5 has by far the worst design imo. They are basically the brutes now lol.
Ethan DeMille I liked the H2A elites but the feet were better in H3 and HReach just my opinion
sharon cunningham, yeah I love the halo 3 elite design actually, and I agree with you about the H2A feet, I think they are way too narrow
@@ethandemille2585 these honorable warriors still try to assassinate their leaders in the middle of the night.
Hot trash.
Halo Reachs arts style is perfect because the guns feel gritty and warlike
Eoin Not perfect, but good
The only things i hate about reach is the suckie asualt rifle, the grunts sounding like humans, and the hunter on legendary
Prefer halo 4 guns the sound of the dmr though
Augustus Sinclair To be fair though, the entire idea of Reach was to tell the gritty story of Spartans who were bred to die. If anything CoD became influenced by Halo, as they started adding exosuits and space themes and fucking aliens of all things to compete and hide the fact that they’re just rehashing the same story over and over again
Augustus Sinclair f
Thugish? The elites in Halo Reach looked like BEASTS, I don't mean in the animal way, but I mean in the way that they looked stronger and more fearsome than in halo 1-3. Now 4 and beyond looked like brutes.
The armor in Reach for both Spartans and elites was just beautiful, I love everything about Reach so much.
Totally agree.
DarKnightSpider Halo Reach happened literally right before Halo 1.
SOMEGUY7893 Yeah, but Halo CE still had limitations. The Mark V was not as technologically advanced as the Mark VI, and the armor in Halo CE was really bulky, so my point still stands.

The Art Style of Reach should've been how Halo 4, 5, and 6 is the route they should've went if you ask me.

I'm not really talking so much about the colors (Even though im not sure what you mean... with being "Grey)
But every in Halo 4, even down to the armor. IS fucking ugly as all hell.
I really liked the grit and grime of the Spartan armor in Reach. You could see scratches and chipping paint. I loved it. And the elite armor variants were fucking sexy.
except the elites, that was a downgrade
In my opinion, Halo Reach was the Peak of Mount Olympus. Now we're falling off the peak into Tartarus.
Yeah, I always thought that the covenant was basically sleek alien islam (from medieval, not modern times) Reach captures that perfectly
The only thing that sucked about Reach:
- Butchering the Halo: Fall of Reach lore Bungie had since 2001.
Whereas in 4 & 5? meh.
Valdric Lim
-Well they're not gonna do a game that takes place over the course of less then a day. That'll be a really dumb idea
-It doesn't really work with what type of team Noble Team is.

Halo Reach was the best, if you saw Bungie’s vidoc they’re goal was to make halo more realistic and ground it in reality. I just wish the Spartans were taller looking.

@DarkStarEthan You use gay as an insult? Typical 8 year old
There’s a lore reasoning behind the Reach spartans’ statures.
Agreed, Bungie SUCCESSFULLY did what 343 tried to do; they kept Halo feeling like Halo while still making it more gritty/realistic looking. 343 achieved the gritty/realism look, but sacrificed the essence that made it still look like Halo.
@DarkStarEthan You literally said gay as an insult. Haven't heard that since kindergarten

I like Halo 4 because that was the first Halo game I'd played.
(Before Blue Team)
Reach tells a war story about sacrifice and compromise, with an impending doom approaching.
The galaxy is constantly changing and evolving.

Everyone who was a Halo fan knew what happened to Reach, we knew how it would end from the start. The art style reflected the fact that this was a war we were going to lose, everyone would die in the end, no hero to save the day, but heroes who would give their lives to buy a chance for others. Halo Reach was the last good halo game and one of my favorite games.
Though I did not like some of the designs of the weapons, I did really like the style
I also dont really like Halo 4's design.

Halo is going through an identity crisis. I have hope for the next Halo to incorporate innovative changes that maintain a more... Halo-esque formula for Narrative, Coopertive, and competative play.
ikr
Yes, but the campaign is already ruined. There is not coming back from the campaign unless you ditch it.
I loved and thought that halo reaches art was the best of them all

Nah it makes sense imo. Reach brutes are when they were still heavy troopers that were designed to elicit fear in the UNSC ranks. Halo 3 brutes look more like Elites, seeing as they were just put into power to take the Elites' place as the top military species in the Covenant.

Simon Petrikov um, you may want to look at halo 2 anniversary or halo 4-5
Halo 2A sure but I still like Halo Reach's look better over all. Halo 4 and 5? Ha! Those look awful. Like bright cartoons with too smooth of textures.
Halo 4-5 look too much like a cartoon with bright colours, the previous halos had a nice militaristic feel
Simon Petrikov Nah
Totally agree, with the grit and the scratches and gear that wasn't too pronounced and was designed to be practical down-to-earth military gear, plus a lot of the enemies looked more within the realm of possibility than in 4-5. Some of the new armors seemed cool in the new ones but they lost me on Halo 4's chicken neck Spartans. ugh. I'll say this, some of the mechanics in the new ones seem like a step in the right direction, but the art is not really my taste at the moment.

Also it would fit as a husk.

cpMetis Agreed greatly!
I agree but with 4/5 it did go in a whole new direction with a whole new story
I am a 100% with you
I always thought that Bungie's Halo had a horrible art style.

"the elites were more thuggish looking"
they were the opposite, in halo 3 they were big bulky hunched guys in halo reach they stood tall and were more slim

I love the Reach elites, they look so fucking cool. They way they moved around the battlefield was swift and predator like.

Hell, I bet they just looked at their marines and be all like "they look good enough." They didn't even finish the Spartan IVs.

I thought Reach's art style was the best out of all of them, with the only exceptions being the brutes and the Assault Rifle.
Halo 4 and 5 had the art style of Power Rangers meets Titanfall.
Yeah what was up with the brutes? I half expected them to show up in a hair waxing commercial.
Jack Rabbit They ruined the story with that. The brutes in Reach should havr been like the Halo 2 brutes
"Halo 4 was better than Reach and 2"
No it wasn't.
Let's look at Halo 2
Halo 2's story introduced us to the covenant side of things, introduced us to the arbiter, the prophets, and showed us what type of civilization the covenant had.
Okay now let's look at halo 4:
Story was much less relatable, the characters were forgettable, Del rio was terrible, no really funny Lines beside Conan O'Brien's lines in that one mission, shortest campaign, we were introduced to enemies who were just bland robots, and the game had the mist linear veichle sections.

Yeah. But the reason why i think the grainy look of H2 couldn't work for 4&5 is because humanity was coming out of the faulty defense and into attack.
Which means they actually get a break to look nice and clean & repair themselves up.
too late. it'll mess up the lore
Halo 4 and later has no excuse.
you wow thats better than I explaind that i just seaid it was before
Reach didn’t really take place that far before ce tho. In fact halo reach took place 3 weeks before ce

Technically, the Prometheans were a class of Warrior Servants in service to the Didact. They started out as ordinary Forerunners but were composed to give them an edge against the Flood. When the Didact started to run out of soldiers that's when he used humans to make a new army of Prometheans. They are not all human.
I always assumed that crawlers and watchers were composed humans and Forerunners just like the Knights. Was I wrong?
Well in 5 they were forerunner but they were disappointing to me.

Watchers, Crawlers and Soldiers were never Human or Forerunner - they were built by the Prometheans.
Crawlers never made sense to me
Halo 3 has the best art style. Let me guess, you played Reach first, right?

343I: "Just some... -complete changes- additions I've made."
Bungie: Indeed
Yeah, the old art style is better
Except for those Energy Swords. I love those new ones. Those look like swords that won't stab your arm.
the old sword was fine. its sci fi. realism is allowed to be sacrificed in favor of coolness in some areas
Marshal Arnold yeeeeep 343 fucked it up like always.
ur profile pic looks like gmail xdddd
Halo reach was pretty good. There are three styles in my opinion
Old (great)
Reach(good)
New(NOT GOOD)
And that's why I like the new halo game to go back to the old style
The watcher, commonly known as the mechanical flying baby demon, is terrifyingly small, yet inhumanly weak compared to it's brethren
Him: More details = NoT HaLo
Also him: More details = hAlo
It’s almost like that’s not the deciding factor and you misinterpreted his points?
@@thebigyes8482 His point is 4 is better than Reach
"Even Killzone doesn't wanna look like Killzone."
The hell is wrong with Killzone all of the sudden? The games have a great art-style, especially Killzone 2.
Can't agree more man, Killzone 2 somehow looks better than many of even today's games.
I remember when I first killed a Jackal in 343's games. I looked to my fellow Halo veteran friend and asked him: "What the fuck is this Godzilla 1998 thing doing here?"
A species can't have different races? Look at humanity.......
GamingTalk2099 I'm aware about phenotypes and that stuff. Doesn't change the fact a decade long foe showing up looking different is going to surprise me.
+SonicCustomThemes what about the skirmisher......call bungie out on introducing a new jackal variant that JUST showed itself when they hit Reach
GamingTalk2099 They're called something else, and are different enough gameplay wise that I didn't mind.
+GamingTalk2099 you understand that that's just the excuse 343 is using right.... The skirmishers despite looking completely different in reach, still looked like jackals, and fit in. Plus humans still look alike there aren't humans with completely different bone structures running around.
WELL, it is back with halo infinite.
343 is combining their looks with bungies
If they combine it it will look cool
At least the Marines in the trailer looked like a mix between Halo 4 & Reach's Marine. It looks really nice.
HowToCameron's younger brother. Halo 3 or Halo Reach art style?
“This video is outdated” is a title change I’m glad got to happen.
changed back lol
Better than Star wars? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here?
Period at the end. Accidently put question mark
Woah, glad to see a fellow Transformers fan in the UA-cam space. Especially in the Halo community!
Bruh, saw every series twice except for the new one. Transformers was my life before Halo, and still kinda is.
Unlucky Rage Gaming I love everything related to Transformers except the movies. Half of them are bad, and the other half are just alright.
Beast wars and Transformers gen 1 (minus season 4 and head masters) were my favorite cartoons
LateNightGaming - Halo News & Entertainment We all try to forget Season 4.
TheNerdFormer Yep, though i was fine with the movies, still think prime and g1 are the best.
halo reach was before the events of halo one so the weapon looked older
Exactly everyone and thing on the Pillar of Autumn had the latest tech, including Master Chief
Cornered Fox possible argument is different locations and branches of UNSC
It would definitely be a logistics nightmare for sure. Something the game devs in all honesty didn't really think about.
You can relate it to all the variants of the M4s and M16s, drastically different designs depending on the version. However they all share the same ammunition 5.56.
***** I did more research into it and honestly it was just an art design decision lol, they didn't really care for the timeline of it.
oh huh
10:25 And here we see a marine, cosplaying as a strawberry shortcake
My opinion on the Lore and Art:
He's right.
PS: Do Half Life 2's Art Style next!
Ik this fool did not say halo 4 is better than reach and halo2
Gold ATG halo 4 is fine but it is NOT better then reach or 2
halo 4 is better than what? lol
Moral Sandwich Yeah... Removed my like after hearing that. Yes. It's your opinion, but dont just drop a bomb like that after all what you've said. Better than reach? Maybe... Better than Halo 2? Fuck no.
EnclaveSoldier Halo 4 can never beat reach
Halo 4 just no, 343 will never top or par with the trilogy, period.
Halo 4 tried to RIP off call of Duty to much
I don't even like the first person scope. They are Spartans, they shouldn't have to focus to line a shot.
Halo 5.
Lost me at "didn't really like the way Halo: Reach looked."
I think, based on the design styles you like, you favor older graphic styles in general, more simplistic looks, not that there's anything wrong with that, it's beautiful and i appreciate those styles.
This aged like milk
I actually like all the halo art styles
Zak Shepherd my nigga ❤️
Same but 4 and 5 are so cartonish that's why i love it
burger killer90 ooo you seem like a great guy, (not being sarcastic)
@@thatoneonewhitelatinowhogo8320 thanks i trough some body will dislike and hate me cuz that's what everybody do to me
I'm a fan of the 4 and 5 art style because I can appreciate all the work the developers and artists put into the character models. I honestly think people only like the old art styles because of nostalgia.
I remember the first time i played Halo 4...
I was walking towards the wall for almost an hour trying to figure out how to play
EDIT: I 100% agree with you about the Micheal Bay Transformers designs. I absolutely hate them for the reason you said.
Halo CE to Reach seems like a natural progression of tech?
Do you mean Reach to CE? Reach was set before CE.
You read my mind, Halo Reach felt like a proper military game set in the future but Halo 4 had too many useless details. like the armour looks backwards, not to mention had pieces that looked like they served no purpose like the bits of armour just stuck to the abs of the spartan
George Moose Correct.
+George Moose I believe he was talking from an outside the lore perspective based on the release sequence of each game, because even if Reach is *set* before CE, it still introduced a lot of newer stuff and also because it came out long after they were able to upgrade the tech to run the game too so everything looked nicer.

I. DIED. INSIDE.
Everyone talking about how much they love halo 2 and reach over halo 4 and I am just over here thinking how I like Halo 3 the best
Well, halo 3s art design is pretty much the same as halo 2 at least spartan wise
Halo 3 was basically Halo 2, but better in pretty much every way.
Halo 3 was action packed
@@RadialNoah Opinion: Better in pretty much every way.
Reality: Better graphically.
Cao Cao Games it had better physics, more balanced PvP, it was more stable, had more maps and game modes, had forge mode, and had better graphics. To only mention a few things. I love Halo 2, but 3 was superior to it honestly.
He probably never played reach OR halo 2
you have good tast my dude
