Went down snibby pit in 1975 on a school trip, imagine that now a days, also had my medical there before starting at Bagworth as a fitter. Snibstone colliery was the first pit in the area to have pit head baths, I believe.
The E.P.A. environmental protection agency was/is busy closing down coal mines in the U.S. Years ago, in Southern Illinois, my cousin took me on a coal mine tour. It was shut down because supposedly the sulphur content was too high??!! Illinois has major coal reserves. The E.P.A. does a lot of ‘studies’, but never one on the devastation to the economy it inflicts.

Fire it all up again
Cant go in any buildings now, nor underground. Heritage that nobody can see. Absolute crying shame.
Be great
