Proud owner of a yellow 2000 Xterra SE in mint condition, low miles, 2 inch PML in front and springs in back, ungraded shocks all-round, LS diffs front and back, 32 inch tires. Used for mild off road to Forest fire lookouts, hiking trail heads and exploration. Take very good care of my baby, love it and will never sell it ! Would NOT trade it for a brand new Toyota or Jeep ! I've already owned several of both and and my Xterra just hits the spot !

I'm honestly afraid to go through my Xterra binder and calculate the cost of all of the mods to date.

It's terrifying! I just keep telling myself...I paid for recreation. That's all. I paid for fun. It still doesn't make me feel any better lol.

@@XterraRob I currently have no better half to question my recreation payments, so I don't have to explain 'ram air' or 'clearance angles' to any disapproving looks ;-)

I still have mine, I don't want to sell it but can't find parts locally

I hear ya man. Parts being limited make maintenance tough. Any specific parts you can't find?

Junk yards have lots of wrecked 1 gen xterras and i have never has any issues finding any parts for any of my xterras. Even most auto parts stores can get most all parts needed.

Do you think converting an N/A gen 1 2004 into a supercharged one is worth the hassle? I have an opened up engine (no telling what was done to it but everything is painted silver so it has been out) original 140k miles, XE 5 speed 4wd, I dont know if the supercharger will be worth it but on 32's (Yoko Geo X-AT) I need to kind of rev it up before I let the clutch out otherwise it tries to bog. It had no power down low but its also running kind of rough so Im doing a tune up as soon as it cools down.
If I were to go through with it, what all would I need? So far I know the supercharger, intake plenum adapter, belt brackets but beyond that Im not too sure.
Do I need a VG33ER ECU like Ive heard? And do I need to use a Z32 MAF, or will the stock MAF hold up. Thank you for all the help you provide

So a UA-cam search for Xterra supercharger swap and look for a 3 part series by a guy Named RP. He does it for an automatic Xterra...but is a very thorough resource.

I think It's worth the hassle if: 1) you get recreational value out of a big project like this and 2) you have the money, time, and space to sink into an old truck. By any objective measure of value...nah not worth it when you start calculating dollars spent to get some better performance. But if it is fun...

@@XterraRob thank you a bunch! I would love it just for the novelty but if it's ridiculous I wouldn't even bother. I only considered it because I can do it with all OEM parts and I've heard the M62 has insane reliability status with very low maintenance. I think all it requires is the supercharger oil for the crankcase in the rear for the chain. The rotors don't actually touch so there's no wear on the faces

@@jacobwebb8818 I started planning for this but eventually decided not to. Easiest way is to scope out pull your own part junkyard or find a wrecked donor vehicle you can buy for $1000 and scavenge parts that way. Make your parts list and when you strike gold and find a donor...jump on it!
