So satisfyng watching it! I'ts so nice to see a broken thing becoming unbroken, and also very interesting to see inside the cameras and learn how it works. It's better than ASMR videos for sure
Hi, at 9 minutes of this video , it shows you removing the metal lens mount. Can this be done without taking the camera apart? For example , do I need to remove the bottom and rear plates etc? Thanks 🙏
@@mikeno62 are you absolutely sure? As I can see 5 screws on the metal mount and the front plate doesn’t appear to be obstructing it from being removed. Won’t it just come off without taking the bottom and front plate, off? Thanks
@@davidcollins4227 i just looked at my Nikon D610 and it looks like it’s possible to unscrew the 5 screws around the mount and take it off, without take off the bottom plate or the front part.
Hello mikeno62 I have a problem with my Nikon D610 camera, it has stuck the lens because it seems to be screwed up and now does not leave the camera or read me diaphragm. How could I do in this case?
Hi Mike I tried doing this my self, got the part and place it back correctly but now, the camera won’t detect the aperture for cp lenses, the dial works perfectly fine (I flipped the dial function and it works) but this will continue to happen with all cpu lenses. Any advise ?
I have Nikon d610 and i am having the same problem. I have purchased the ceramic plate already, and i am planning to replace it by seeing your video only. But I am little apprehensive to do so, as i damaged my kit lens previously by cleaning myself. Anyways, i just want to know one thing. What is the instrument, you are using to remove (dismantle) the solder???
When I want to use my D610 in cold, connection between lens and camera cut of. When camera will be warmer, tha connection is good. Nikon Hungary said that: use another lens and cleaning with alcohole. So, thx a lot, Nikon Hungary. I think my next camera will be a Canon one.
Hi Miken062 Isn'it because you use a non- AIS lens that you broke that ceramic part ? I have quite a few manual lenses bought in 1972 non-AIS lenses that I would like to use but I was always recommended that they would harm the cameras .
Well, I got the camera because the ceramic part and other part's was broken, and the bajonet was a little damage. I simply took the ceramic part from my old not working Nikon D200, and it was necessary to modifie it with my "Dremel" grinder, but now the camera is actually working okay. If you want to use the old Non-Ai or Ais lenses, you will need to modifie the aperture ring so it works with the aperture system in the camera. Cheers Kenneth
Thanks mikeno62 for your response. May I ask if there is clear and accurate information concerning the mods to be done on the lenses ? Have a nice day Lux
Sorry, but at 27:10 I was out of frame, I took off the back wax paper on the adhesive tape and then, of course put the PCB in place with the adhesive tape.
Hello and big thanks for all your videos, i have problem with a Nikon D610, i changed the top lcd (it was broken), but after closing the camera, the back button don't work anymore. The top LCD worked good, and the camera worked well i can take picture with it by using only top lcd to set parametre, but the rear button don't work anymore so i can't enter the menu, change iso,... Any idea to fix this please ?
Mohamed LMISSAOUI I think you should take a closer look at the flex cable, because it sounds like you have not connected the flex cable correct in the connector, or you maybe have break the flex cable, sometimes the flexible cables are very thin and it that way fragile if handle wrong, just some ideas. Cheers Kenneth

good job! It's a great satisfaction to see your arrangement working!
I love it when a plan works out, well done Kenneth :)
Very good job....the most delicate moment: removing the old ceramic !
Hope your old D200 was already broken :)
Thank's, yes my old D200 was already broken (a lot of issues...).
Excellent. As always, thanks for great tutorials!

To remove the lens mount, you will only need to take off the bottom plate and the front plate around the mount.

At 18:30 I can see the lens contacts, glued to F-F0. Maybe you damaged the flex.

Why didn’t you secure the pcb with adhesive tape just the like the one you replaced?
