2008-SONE here. I find it really lovely that younger generations of K-pop fans are discovering and learning the history of SNSD/Girls-Generation. I just want to ask new K-pop fans to look into the fan history [Soshified] that was built upon this well-loved girl group. The group accepted what happened to the girls regardless of the controversies, supported their relationships and rehabilitated those who hated their boyfriends, avoided fan-wars and promoted discovery and taking care of the new girl-groups and their fans. SNSD isn't the top in terms of numbers nowadays, but through the years that they were active they were respected, well-loved, and regarded as a pillar of influence in the entertainment scene. The girls, during their private time, also supported many endeavours, artists, charities, and businesses. I hope more people learn from what these girls went through, like how the next-generation K-pop artists/idols look up to our girls as their role-models in their respective performances and agencies.

I remember this MV was released together with an album DVD (that’s why it was not released officially in UA-cam) a few days after Jessica left. I remembered watching this MV (haven’t healed from the shocking news of Jessica leaving) with a very broken heart without knowing what really happened. Seeing Jessica sing “We are always one” really hurts us sone that time. There’s also a fancam of a fanmeet a day after Jessica left, where all the audience shouts Jessica’s name because they don’t know what really happened, and the girls are all just crying, and most of Jessica’s singing parts are left not sung. I'm glad you were a civil fan with songs that contain Jessica. As a big fan, I came across many haters that just attacked Tiffany's vocals in a lot of the songs and that snsd are nothing without Jessica. I also prefer with all of them. Even Gee (acoustic version) , I prefer all than ot5. But I've always supported the girls and told those haters that Tiffany did an amazing job covering Sica's parts. And like you mentioned, Tiffany has a husky voice so it adds a new flavor to the song. I will always support the girls and whatever songs they sing, but of course I always listen to the original version when listening to music. Pretty sure Divine was originally supposed to be Jessica's graduation song for the Tokyo dome concert. Which is why it's somewhat sad and melancholy and about taking a journey together and paths separating.
I can't stop crying when I see Tiffany singing the Jessica parts, it's so sad 😭. I believe that Tiffany did the best that she could, I cannot even imagine for all the pain that she felt in those moments. I also prefer the original version, Jessica's voice conveys too many emotions for me compared to when the girls did those parts (I'm not saying they did it wrong, it's just very different).

In the BTS we can see that the girls are forcing and faking their laugh and smiles (not as happy as usual). I personally think all the girls except Jessica already know the situation. If i'm not mistaken, some girls look like they had been crying with those swollen eyes. We were really craving for 9 members live performance of this performance but sadly it will never happen. TBH Yoona's pure voice at the end of the live performance, substituting Jessica, so beautiful and makes it more painful 😢

I think the girls demeanor was because at the time Jessica was going to leave on her own after the Tokyo Dome concert. Of course the other 8 would have been stressed as well, just as any KPOP group would that is losing a member. Only after this was shot and Jessica didn't leave on her own we had the Kpocalypse of 9/30. It's really all a big mystery when you take into account they had already recorded and filmed an MV for "Catch Me If You Can", initially for the Japan market and Jessica sang the hook on her show with Krystal around March of 2014. Someday we might hear 9 versions of the story and they might all be different. And I wouldn't be surprised.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, SNSD SOUND SO MUCH BETTER WITH JESSICA. She completes their songs and the 8 voices of the members. I've been a Sone since 2009 but I did not appreciate her voice until she left. When she left, that's when I realized that SNSD was unstoppable bcos of the 9 girls and their voices combined.
i respect ur opinion of what you prefer. Tiffany put more emotion to the song (shes crying while singing live), i didn't know she cracks, until you pointed it out (though i dont find it as crack but a twist to the song). overall she made it a great version, she made style on her own, of course its gonna have different feels, but still theres soul and emotion inclined to it. i love both versions though.

I think the song was emotional to me because it reminds me that was the last time I saw Jessica in a soshi mv. Each time I heard Jessica’s line we are always one I had tears on my eyes :(
If you pay attention to this song, jessica was a very important part in Divine, so that's why it feels rare without her cause she really had standout parts on this, again, cause this was her moment to say goodbye as planned. Divine was meant to be Jessica's goodbye to sone japan cause this was released in the middle of their greatest hits album to close the group contract as 9 there. I think their vocals were in their peak for this one, my favourite ballad from the Queens forever.
im not bias, or emotionally bias of what happened to their group, but i prefer tiffany's version, she gave a great twist from runs and perfectly connected it to the high note, to me its extremely pleasing to hear.
As much as Toyko Dome was an EPIC Concert. Sunny dull eyes disturbed the shit out of me. I wasn't used to her being like this and my heart was troubled. Sunny is supposed to be the Energizer Bunny something that was missing from Tokyo Dome. Late 2014-2016 was bad for the girls and Sone.
Divine was supposed to be Jessica's goodbye song prior her hiatus from the group to focus on her individual career in fashion design. Then that event happened.
From what I remember reading was that Jessica was supposed to go on hiatus because she was starting her own brand with the blessing of Sm and the girls and this was supposed to be her goodbye song for sones and the girls. And she was supposed to be able to come back but things change.
I think they were zoomed in tight because they really only had that one set on the train car and the director wanted to slowly reveal it. Also it's what the fans wanted after the Mr. Mr. MV fiasco. Only Austin wouldn't have noticed the girls spent half the video appearing to be topless, very similar to After School's "First Love" which came out a year earlier.
It's not a lie though. Obviously, the girls still hang out with Jessica privately. They just can't mention her but they acknowledge ot9. Same thing with Jessica, she can't mention them but she acknowledges her time with them in the group and that it was a happy time for her.

Thanks for this video! It is hard to watch, and I don't like to remember those years cuz sunny looked soo sad/serious/emotionless and I felt that wasn't her, but is obvious why she was like that, those were hard times :(

Fact: Divine MV was not officially released, it's supposed to be exclusive in their Japanese physical album where who only buys it can watch it.
It's the same with Echo and Bad Girl I think as well. But people sadly don't care about that. I wish people would actually respect that.

Divine is my other SNSD favorite song along with All My Love For You. Divine always makes me emotionally sad.
I have said it before and I'll say it again, SNSD SOUND SO MUCH BETTER WITH JESSICA. She completes their songs and the 8 voices of the members. I've been a Sone since 2009 but I did not appreciate her voice until she left. When she left, that's when I realized that SNSD was unstoppable bcos of the 9 girls and their voices combined.
I guess I've never watched them perform divine live...

i respect ur opinion of what you prefer. Tiffany put more emotion to the song (shes crying while singing live), i didn't know she cracks, until you pointed it out (though i dont find it as crack but a twist to the song). overall she made it a great version, she made style on her own, of course its gonna have different feels, but still theres soul and emotion inclined to it. i love both versions though.

If you pay attention to this song, jessica was a very important part in Divine, so that's why it feels rare without her cause she really had standout parts on this, again, cause this was her moment to say goodbye as planned. Divine was meant to be Jessica's goodbye to sone japan cause this was released in the middle of their greatest hits album to close the group contract as 9 there.
I think their vocals were in their peak for this one, my favourite ballad from the Queens forever.
im not bias, or emotionally bias of what happened to their group, but i prefer tiffany's version, she gave a great twist from runs and perfectly connected it to the high note, to me its extremely pleasing to hear.

As much as Toyko Dome was an EPIC Concert. Sunny dull eyes disturbed the shit out of me. I wasn't used to her being like this and my heart was troubled. Sunny is supposed to be the Energizer Bunny something that was missing from Tokyo Dome. Late 2014-2016 was bad for the girls and Sone.

Divine was supposed to be Jessica's goodbye song prior her hiatus from the group to focus on her individual career in fashion design. Then that event happened.
From what I remember reading was that Jessica was supposed to go on hiatus because she was starting her own brand with the blessing of Sm and the girls and this was supposed to be her goodbye song for sones and the girls. And she was supposed to be able to come back but things change.

I think they were zoomed in tight because they really only had that one set on the train car and the director wanted to slowly reveal it. Also it's what the fans wanted after the Mr. Mr. MV fiasco. Only Austin wouldn't have noticed the girls spent half the video appearing to be topless, very similar to After School's "First Love" which came out a year earlier.

It's not a lie though. Obviously, the girls still hang out with Jessica privately. They just can't mention her but they acknowledge ot9. Same thing with Jessica, she can't mention them but she acknowledges her time with them in the group and that it was a happy time for her.
Its definitely not a lie, the years they spent together doesn't just disappear that easily. They're most likely still in contact, at least half of them are.
