    Top notch stuff, must buy it at some point. When Protoculture meets U-He miracles are bound to happen!

    Mindblowing! I got Hive on sale as well as Diva and those 2 are incredible. You are a wizard!
    I knew Protoculture many years ago. Now I begun composing and find out you are the guy from Protoculture. Wow! You just impressed me with your sounds. Up there now with my other favorite, Ayin Zahev aka Sami Rabia.
    I will get this presets pack for sure. Any chance it will be on sale soon?
    Thanks a lot.

      Open up Hive, go to your presets and right click on 'local', then choose show in explorer/finder. That will open up the default preset folder... you can copy the presets in there. :)

      That Library/Audio/Presets folder on a mac is for VST presets, not u-he presets.

    Q: would hive presets work on hive2 ?

    • @MarulaMusic
      @MarulaMusic  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, the Hive patches work on later versions but not the other way around afaik.

    Hello Nate… I recently upgrade Hive from version 1 to 2, but now I experience some CPU% full issues with some presets… is it normal? I have 8g ram… please help!

      Hi Shar. There is no doubt that the latest generation of sofware synths can be demanding on CPUs & sometimes on RAM. I don't know if you have found out the source of the problem, but I will share what I know.
      Software synths like Hive use calculations to create most of their sounds, and that really challenges the speed of the CPU (a faster CPU & more cores will help). This is especially the case when a Granular engine is being used. However, when large sample sets are used as the source of sounds (especially with Omnisphere, Kontakt, UVI instruments, etc), then RAM is an issue.
      With Hive, I suspect that the samples are not large enough to make RAM the biggest issue, unless you are running multiple instances of Hive in your DAW, and each instance of Hive is creating a complex sound. Check out the presets that are overloading your CPU, and see if they use the Granular engine. If that is the case, one thing you can do is to check if you can reduce the resolution in the Granular engine. Another thing you can do is run multiple instances of Hive in your DAW, and just use one oscillator in each instance of Hive. That will force your CPU to devote a different core to each instance of Hive, which could make it easier to do the calculations.
      Realistically, if you can afford to upgrade your computer, it would be a good idea. It will help prevent problems with the amazing software synths that are available, and prevent problems in the future, when those soft synths get upgraded/expanded.
      I hope this helps....

    What do I need for Hive? Is it a VST or do I need UVI or Falcon or something?

      @@MarulaMusic WAIT... Hive is it's very own VST?! I thought it needed like Kontakt or Omnispheres or something.
      I only ask because I saw a big discount thing on the Native Instruments site, so I thought it had to have it.... (sorry, i'm learning all of this stuff. It's a bit confusing).
