For those who do not know this woman is the OG of vlogging from Africa. Before anyone else there was AFroAmericaninAfrica. Just an awesome, awesome woman that i've admired and followed for a very very long time. Notice she posts once in a while and not every day looking for that youtube money. Always good to hear from you sis. We need more of you out there.
Sis continue to block and delete those comments. The problem with social media is it’s faceless and not the real world. We don’t know who’s behind the keyboard. I really believe some of the negativity comes from troll farms. We ( Black people) need a different form of social media.
I agree with you. Africans/black people globally are more alike than we are different. The conflicts are useless in this global oppression and harm us more than helps us.
Greetings from NY! Don't mind them, these are mainly insecure trolls. Most of these so-called "diaspora wars" only exist on the Internet. In real life, most black people are mature, level-headed, and calm.
This is one of the most positive, practical, sensible, mature, and much-needed posts I've seen on UA-cam on diasporan experiences. Unfortunately, too many persons take their personal demons, dysfunctions, and disappointments online, instead of going to heal, get help, or get their acts together first. Unfortunately too many people (and large segments of the media) seem to have inherited, and / or thrive on PHD behavior (Pull Him / Her Down). But like crabs in a bucket, nobody moves up and out by pulling others down. Thank you. Best wishes to you and your family.
Well said, Sis!! ❤❤❤ Unfortunately, the slave trade resulted in such a huge disconnect among people of African descent, and it is widening by the second. We are so intent on tearing each other down instead of coming together and celebrating our similarities as well as our differences, and it produces more fodder and ammunition for the oppressor!
I don't understand the diaspora wars. Especially since the different groups have grown up with each other, formed friendships with each other, and even married and have had children with each other. I don't get into all of that either. Instead, I enjoy what each group has to offer and keep it moving.
Continue to stay away from all that UA-cam black on black African American diaspore and Native Africans bashing nonsense. Continue to keep your content wholesome my sister.
You are very correct. I feel the same way. We are all interconnected. People are the same everywhere ❤.😊 I appreciate your bravery and Ubuntu. Peace and blessings.
I agree with you 1000% I travel yearly to Africa....We have colonial casualties and former USA enslaved casualties..but I'm so blessed to have the best of friends in East africa and west Africa...I'm taking friends from America to africa ..one sister who travel with me to Senega....she l hungout for a month with some local sisters in Saint Louis, Senegal..and when it was time to return back to the States all the sisters from the local compound crying .(.it wasn't a dry eye in group ) asking the sister when will she return.?...they truly enjoyed the laughter..the bonding. The foods and the stories..let's put and end to the ignorance as it arrives on both ends. Let it be understood..upon our unity, it will be " Game Over " for our colonizers..
Wow 14 years Sister I'm so happy and proud of you, I enjoy tuning into your channel and the life adventures regarding you and your family there, your content is refreshing particularily with you being a pleasant and positive person.
Thank you for sharing! Kindness is key. And there are negatives in every culture and you are so right about these diaspora wars being counterproductive. It is in our best interest to recognize and embrace all our African cousins. ✌🏾💜
We are looking the world through our own prism and forget other people have their own prism to look the world from. Namibia is very fascinating. 14 years in Africa? for real you are African African by now😂!Much respect for you and your Family!
I must admit that there was a point when I thought differently, before the internet. Now, I agree with you 💯! We all share a common enemy and it’s pointless to have such strong opinions about each other. We really need to focus on loving ourselves and each other as well as respecting one another. Stop looking at the other nations focus on us.
Thank you for sharing. As a very white Norwegian I have limited experience and knowledge of these issues. My only opportunity to learn is from what I read and what people are willing to share of their painful experiences. Even though I didn’t understand everything, Thank you for so kindly giving me the opportunity to learn ❤
I think I’ve been following you from the beginning of your UA-cam journey. We both got married 2014. I have two children and I’ve been wanting to visit and/or live on the continent. Thank you for your platform.
That's wonderful indeed. That's all I can say, too many push and pulla are going on between different black communities world over, instead of being united and face common enemy heads on.
I agree with you. Diaspora wars are really a waste of time, and energy. Maturity is the answer. Please continue to block and delete those negative people.
There is power in Black Unity. Similar to my belief in Pan Africanism for us all to come together and just unite. True words. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for all your content 🙏🏾💝
Very interesting thoughts. You're absolutely right.Thank you. But but how do you do to be always so cute ? 😅 As Time goes you are bringing people of african descent. Appreciate it.
Well said sis. I 100% agree with you, love from a Zimbabwean currently living in Russia and preparing to Come back for good to the Motherland. Black Unity✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
I agree with your comments. We can’t get caught up with online tear downs. Historically speaking as melanated people, our life experiences/struggles should give us grace to overlook our cultural ignorance/differences. So we must continue to connect and learn about each other. Magnify what lifts us up as a people collectively. This will only make us stronger. One love!
Thank you for offering this space to share something positive. The diaspora wars that I see (both IRL and online) reminds me of a quote from Seyla Benhabib, who says that we all must remember that “we all come from a culture.” I think this is a transformative way that we can begin to engage across the diaspora because (for me) it highlight two important things: (1) everyone has their own unique culture and cultural practice that is worthy of observance and (2) no cultural practice is better than another. I think this reframing could help us learn to be more curious about one another and seek to understand each other as opposed to comparing ourselves.
Kaylan thank you for your much needed view point. Grace, respect, kindness and love. We have to start paying attention to these virtues in dealing with each other. Over the years in order to survive in hostile environments, people have had to develop a hard shell; a ready to fight attitude at all times. Unfortunately it's hard to change that aggressiveness. And instead of focusing it in the right quarter, we often turn it on to each other. Time to start being kind to each other and stop the wholesale tear down of people who look like us.
Such a powerful reflection and so true!! These things have evolved and will take time to unravel and dissolve! Thank you for pointing this out!! And for watching! 🖤🫂
I was born in Tanzania but raised in DC and Maryland. Even after my family immigrated to the U.S, I have always lived in predominantly black communities my entire life, including now. I'm a proud HBCU graduate. Most of my friends are Black Americans and my brother-in-law is a Black American. I dare say that the Diaspora Wars are fueled and spearheaded by agents of chaos, who are unbeknownst to themselves willing agents of White Supremacy. That's why the work you and others do is so necessary and important. Also I find people who are easily duped into Diaspora Wars (on both sides) tend to be least likely to be in community with people from other parts of the Diaspora. We need to change that. It really does wonders in combating the ignorance. I know it did for me and my family.
I must be one of your oldest subscribers and though I've got to admit not being a regular viewer, it is nice to see you doing well after so many years.
Wow Barbados was one of the first three countries I considered visiting when I pondered traveling out of the U.S., for the first time. I respect your prime minister very much. She has gumption and hutzpah! And you are even able to trace your family tree back beyond one hundred years. I am still endeavoring to do this. Yes very ridiculous to speak ill about a whole continent of people. I believe these beefs are started by those with money and political influence that wish to keep division between Africans, thus control, wherever we are. Those that struggle financially among us are the ones I believe who get into these verbal antipodal paludal spouts. Stay the course with your positive vibes, sistah, for us as a collective. I am in the refusal camp! Thumbs Up! Subscribed.
Thk you Sister. I remembered your journey. You speak with respect. I appreciate you for who you are. There are lessons and challenges that would serve as stepping stones to our victory if we can utilize it properly.
It is really amazing the things people come up with as a quasi normal question/comment. I chose to not engagé. The audacity of some people. My husband is Congolese. You are so right.
14 years is a lot! I've been tuned in off and on since 2021. I've resided in Queens NY for 36 years however born in French Guiana. My mom's side is from at least 3 generations in Guyana. My dad's side is 3 gens in French Guiana. I cant wait to visit the motherland.
Thank you for sharing Kylan, You are doing God's work, keep sharing. Your opinions are always balance, you have the Assignment correct. love from a Namibian.
That’s always been my goal but somehow I always fail 😩🤦🏾♀️ kids and baby are well - but also a reason behind the delays 😩😂🖤 Thank you so much for watching 🩷
You are always so wise, so mature and so classy; may your days be long and full of peace and prosperity. Max respect, Kaitlyn, you are simply the best! I wish every Black person watches and learns from this video.
❤Ma sha ALLAH my dear Sister Kaylan , this video topic is soo right on time and absolutely in my opinion positively correct. This channel and your fabulous work of writing and giving all of us African Americans a spotlight on your platforms has been personally for me appreciated, respected with much sincere gratitude. You have a professionalism of journalism that ✨💫💥sparks internationally and GOD almighty has blessed you and us to return Home. I was again touched when You talked about your great great great beloved ❤(i saw the word great several times) Grandmother, just her age and the number of generations ago alone is a testament to your calling to return to Mother Africa ( and you have a picture of her to know her is incredible , fascinating and extremely rare) I don’t mean to turn this into a out-right spiritual theme but something powerfully more is going on that can’t be denied. As you stated so many good points as “ out of RESPECT for our Ancestors “ is where and who we are descended from. This topic resonates for those whom are consciously awake. It is also one ☝🏾of the main reasons I returned and to know, learn and give back to my people. This episode is a beauty and I can rant forever. May you stay blissfully blessed, full of prosperity and more love to you and our ❤family there in Namibia on purpose, Amin🙌🏾👏🏽🤲🏾. Collectively together we are Strong, Unified and Unstoppable! We are indeed 🤲🏾🙏🏾Grateful, thank you so very much. African Americans and Africans, UNITE✊🏾❤!!!💪🏿.
Smh, it's so sad you had to speak on this subject. 🤦🏽♀️ However, your statement was powerful, unifying and cleverly negating all the traps and lies colonialism sold us wholesale....all to get us to hate each other and become separated and weak. God help us reverse this now‼️🤲🏼 Well said, wisdom spoken‼️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Shout out to you Kaitlin, I've been following you from almost day one. You were one of my inspirations in going to Africa. These diasporan wars are very dangerous.
People are just people with all of their imperfections. Although difficult, we should be looking for the good in each of us. Unfortunately, human nature has always caused us to put each other down as a way to lift each other up. CRAZY!
Individual people have interaction with other individuals from other places and blanket all based on an experience. That is the most ignorant thing that people can do. But some of these people don't look at themselves in the mirror to even see if they are worthy of criticizing anyone else. These low vibrating people will never divide the Oneness that binds up together. They don't understand that, that is what the enemies want. Find the Good People, because They are the Only Ones that matter. One Love ! 💪🏾💪🏾☀☀✊🏾✊🏾
Well said young lady. This is one of the best videos I have seen on u tube. I am a Caribbean American living in the US for half a century with black American children
Listening to you and watching your videos is a little therapeutic and comforting. Disparaging the continent and the entire Africans is mostly out of ignorance considering how huge the continent is. There will be good and not so good wherever you find yourself. You must chose who you associate with and who and where to avoid. The same principle applies no matter where you find yourself. Generally, Africans are welcoming. That was mostly the reason the European were able to take advantage of Africans, that in turn, brought colonialism and slavery that followed.
Hi Been following you for a long time.Sorry for going through a traumatized pregnancy.Gracefully the Lord has seen you through it and I am very thankful to God.We are waiting patiently for what you brought for us.Till I read from you soon. Thanks bye
Yes Kaylin, this is the mindset that all black people should have. I always tell people that no group of black people has any valid reason to be mad at another group of black people. Non what's so ever. If you don't like another group of black people just keep quite instead of spewing negativity There is nothing to gain out of the black diaspora wars, just a waste of time and energy, over petty differences. Meanwhile other races of people (not all) look down on us for the one thing we all have in common. I really appreciated this video, you said exactly what I was thinking. I am glad you are using your platform to talk sense to the community ☺️☺️ Peace and hope you are well and comfortable during the remainder of your pregnancy ☺️☺️
I feel like this Diaspora war stems from people who have low self-esteem. They always feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel exalted.
I like the comments you made. We need to take a step back and understand the root cause of why Black people around the world, including the Continent of Africa speak such negativity about each other. It is by design. The westerners (Europeans, enslavers, colonizers etc) had to find a way to keep us divided so we would never come together and unify. So the enslavers/colonizers designed a propaganda system that would manipulate our minds against people of African descent, on the Continent and off the Continent. So we base our perceptions on what they told us and through media. It is time for us to stop bashing each other and come together in unity and change the negative stereotypes and narrative about who we are as a people. After all people of African descent is the largest group of people on the planet. So let’s start heart felt love for each other versus the negative stereotypes generated by white supremacy and western media. ❤
Great video, speaking against these diaspora wars nonsense. Im from the Caribbean living in North America and married to an African lady. This devision strikes me as self-destructive to us collectively, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are nefarious people encouraging our division. By the way, I was going through a slave register for the island im from whilst doing research on my ancestry. There are listed on the register slaves originating from Igbo, Mendinka, Coramantie, Ibibo, Hausa, Congo, and many more. I'm just saying for those denying ancestry from africa.
I totally agree with you, do not embrace the monitoring spirits of those people who are not happy with themselves or unity. I am a proud black diverse woman. I decided to go to Africa recently and decided Senegal was where I needed to be. I have travelled to North Africa in my younger days, very different embrac. The way my brothers and sisters in Senegal embraced me and my friend who was born in the Caribbean. I was born in Europe and always embraced my couture - Jamaican - Guyanese parents. Growing up , I heard it from other black cultures the negative comments re being part Guyanese and I address it straight away, my parents were proud of who they were and their humbly begins and the countries they travelled from to Europe.. I always seen myself has an African because that is where my ancestors came from. I identify with all my ethnicity. I hope we has black people will unite and embrace each other, we are black and should be proud. Just stumbled on this blog.🎉
I love productive dialogue and discussion. Duscussion trumps debate when im with my people. As you said, we should be looking for inclusive solutions. Because the devils are only growing stronger every day.
Omg! When you revealed that your mother side came from Barbados I was shocked because when I first encountered your channel one thing that struck me about you was the physical similarities between you and my maternal aunt when she was young. At first I thought it was slavery related because most of us came from the same ethnic background with maybe one boat stop between one another but the fact that both of our mothers are of Bajan descent was a big Eureka moment in my mind 🤷🏾♂️I mean who knows? You and I might be cousins😂😂😂 I'm dead serious tho😳...
We very well could be!! 🤯 🇧🇧 I believe on my mother’s maternal line they were from St Phillip and also Bridgetown areas! ☺️ Have to look into her father’s line! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🇧🇧

Thank you for this video - the ignorance needs to stop
Individual people have interaction with other individuals from other places and blanket all based on an experience. That is the most ignorant thing that people can do. But some of these people don't look at themselves in the mirror to even see if they are worthy of criticizing anyone else. These low vibrating people will never divide the Oneness that binds up together. They don't understand that, that is what the enemies want. Find the Good People, because They are the Only Ones that matter. One Love ! 💪🏾💪🏾☀☀✊🏾✊🏾
Great perspective. You are the originator of the africa UA-cam movement.
Appreciate you!! 🥹🙌🏾🫂
Well said young lady. This is one of the best videos I have seen on u tube. I am a Caribbean American living in the US for half a century with black American children
Thank you so much!! Appreciate your support 🙌🏾
Anybody else notice that these wars only exist online and doesn't really exist in real life?
Yes!! 💯
preach
Online diaspora wars are extremely exhausting .i will never add to their energy .we are one and we remain one
Very well articulated. To many trying to divide us. Thank you.
Love love this video ❤❤
Listening to you and watching your videos is a little therapeutic and comforting. Disparaging the continent and the entire Africans is mostly out of ignorance considering how huge the continent is. There will be good and not so good wherever you find yourself. You must chose who you associate with and who and where to avoid. The same principle applies no matter where you find yourself. Generally, Africans are welcoming. That was mostly the reason the European were able to take advantage of Africans, that in turn, brought colonialism and slavery that followed.
14 years already?
Wow!
Right?!?! 🤯🩵
So true!! Glad I found your channel.
Thank you for being here!! 🩷

Thanks bye
Appreciate you! Thanks so much for the kind words!! 🖤🖤🖤
Stay strong queen
Thank you, Kala! 🙌🏾
Yes Kaylin, this is the mindset that all black people should have.
I always tell people that no group of black people has any valid reason to be mad at another group of black people. Non what's so ever.
If you don't like another group of black people just keep quite instead of spewing negativity
There is nothing to gain out of the black diaspora wars, just a waste of time and energy, over petty differences.
Meanwhile other races of people (not all) look down on us for the one thing we all have in common.
I really appreciated this video, you said exactly what I was thinking. I am glad you are using your platform to talk sense to the community ☺️☺️
Peace and hope you are well and comfortable during the remainder of your pregnancy ☺️☺️
Absolutely! All of this 💯 Thank you for the wonderful comment!
congratulations
Yes we should all unite but also educate eachother on our cultures so that there is respect
I feel like this Diaspora war stems from people who have low self-esteem. They always feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel exalted.
I feel like some of these diaspora wars comes from having a superiority complex.
Yes, exactly! Just need to pause and reflect for empathy and understanding! Thank you for the comment!
🙌🏾
Great commentary! If Willie L-inch never existed that spirit lives in our divisiveness.
Beautiful reflection and experiences!! So happy for you! Thank you for sharing this here 🥹🙌🏾
Great video...let's do start in unity by you helping get to namibia so I can become a citizen too..im ready to come visit...😊
13:59 That's true; and "AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum" is doing something about it.
Best video on UA-cam! Avoid the Diaspora Wars at all cost!
Thank you and periodt! 💯🙌🏾
Keep on shining, Kaylain
Thank you! 🥹🩵
I love productive dialogue and discussion. Duscussion trumps debate when im with my people. As you said, we should be looking for inclusive solutions. Because the devils are only growing stronger every day.
thank you so much
You re wise & articulate.
Omg! When you revealed that your mother side came from Barbados I was shocked because when I first encountered your channel one thing that struck me about you was the physical similarities between you and my maternal aunt when she was young.
At first I thought it was slavery related because most of us came from the same ethnic background with maybe one boat stop between one another but the fact that both of our mothers are of Bajan descent was a big Eureka moment in my mind
🤷🏾♂️I mean who knows? You and I might be cousins😂😂😂
I'm dead serious tho😳...
We very well could be!! 🤯 🇧🇧 I believe on my mother’s maternal line they were from St Phillip and also Bridgetown areas! ☺️ Have to look into her father’s line! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🇧🇧
You are the best.
You are a champion.
Thanks so much! Trying my best 🥹 You all are the real champions writing all these beautiful comments 🩷
