    Krav Maga is a passion of mine, but I would suggest to someone fighting for their life to use whatever works for them. I'm now training BJJ, learning to mix the two. I run too. Whatever gets you to where you are going. Respects to all here. Keep training, because this is what we do.

      Marta Gal: 1st. Talk with your Doctor to get his advice on any System you decide to train in first. 2nd.Go with the flow of the class/Instructors, exercise patience in your training by not trying to get it all at once, and learn from your mistakes. As time evolves it will become ingrained in your muscle memory. Have fun and train hard.

    I have been training in JJJ for 9 years now and many of the techniques on here are incorporated in our classes too....There is no "guarantee" in any situation, however these skills are highly effective and cause serious damage to your attacker.....Joint manipulation, speed, fast striking, leverage and awareness are awesome weapons in your artillery....Just be savvy on the street, anything goes. Enjoyed the vid, from the north of England.

    Good day to all. I am a teacher of Italian Hapkido. In 2009, after several years of research, I have released an book of self-defense. The title is "Handbook of Self Defense Awareness." Really amazing how many exercises and applications to be submitted, are similar to those that I have developed in my program. I am heartened to know that the basic strategies tend to be universal. Knowing that other people, through study and research, have come to my own conclusions is very rewarding. Good work and good luck with everything.

    For all you guys out there who don't really think before you speak. Krav Maga was developed in real life situations for Jews who were being hunted and killed by Nazi's. It is an amalgamation of a whole bunch of martial arts, taking certain aspects from each that work best in a survival situation. It is not a sport, it is purely a self defence system with no rules. It is used in special forces around the world, and in some sections of the American SF. It is battle tested and if a technique does not work in a battle situation, it is adjusted. It is not pretty, but it is brutally effective.

  • @Dargrador
    @Dargrador 10 років тому +13

    This comment section is plain dumb, Krav Maga isn't a martial ART, it's for actual COMBAT, EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED, and it's not technique based, it's about your reactions, your instinct, to use them automatically when a situation occurs, it makes you more confident in situations and life in general. These techniques do work, and yes boxers are lightning quick in punching and ufc fighters are ok in the octagon, but outside of that they are nothing, just punching in a street fight ain't gonna get you anywhere, BJJ aint gonna get you anywhere in a street fight with trained ppl. Just no. im not saying they wont do well but when it comes to a krav maga practitioner and an mma fighter in a street fight, good fucking luck.

And with my background in Filipino martial arts and panantukan, JKD etc it would be easy to take that examinations. Same things i trained many years, and now i see that they were used in KM. Nice.

    I like these videos they post up!!!! It shows you what to do in a "street attack". I've been in a 'knife/robbery street attack' and the only thing I could do to is run. And that was after I got 'sucker-punched'..I took that punch and ran. I think I will enroll in Krav Maga training. To Dovahkiin Dragonshout...what would you do in a 'knife street attack'?

I only say that because people always think I'm lying about my training because I don't look like a bodybuilder...just a skinny white guy...

    Km is great for self defense and very effective. The main problem I see with it is in many states it doesn't matter who started the fight is you mess someone up your getting fined sued or thrown in jail. I prefer bjj and the like to get in get close and choke them out. All depends on the situation and how much bs you want to deal with.

    Got to Understand that MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, all of these are sports design for competing with rules with discipline. You know the day of your fight, the weight of your opponent and the time to prepare before the fight.
    Self defense is not a sport there is no rules, For example you are in the gas station with your wife and kids, all of a sudden a person puts a knife at your back. OR
    You are just walking in the park then a group of people jumps you.
    Self Defense is to survive and get away from a fight that means poke in the eye, grab a testicle and rip it off all the things that sports will not allow.
    You can NOT put Self Defense and Sports together, if you put a Krav Maga practioner in a MMA Cage fight with rules, most likely Krav Maga will get whoop.
    But if you put a MMA fighter in a Street fight with no rules against a Krav maga practioner there is big chance Krav Maga will kill the MMA Fighter.

    • @Soda413
      @Soda413 10 років тому +5

      Well Muay thai was not invented for that. It was invented for battle. Against brutall enemies and it is brutally effective. I teach Krav Maga (I'm level 6) and what is best about Krav maga is it is easy to learn cause u use the same techniques against varying attacks. And the 360 defense is genius. But this is also a flaw cause anyone who has been trained or can react faster than the burst movements will defeat them. BUT it is unlikely! I mean really how many ppl run into Martial arts Masters?

    • @dianabosshard3822
      @dianabosshard3822 10 років тому

      Correct!!! There are many possibilities to defend! All of such technics need a hard training! But in Krav Maga you have the ability and perhaps the license to kill! Touch no Krav Maga People! We are not Player/Gamer!

      Jamal J Besides of that, the first thing real students of genuine schools and styles learn is not to fight exept for self defence or defence other people. With other words, a master dont attack you unless you try to attack him or her first.

    • @napukapu
      @napukapu 10 років тому +3

      Exactly. I don't understand why everyone has a hard time understanding the difference between Krav Maga and sports/other martial arts. It isn't mean for a competition, it's a bunch of dirty tricks to get your ass out of the situation.

    You have to practice practice and more practice. It builds not only confidence but reflexes and also helps eliminate fear if you remain focused. They're were times when in a fight my body arms legs etc. Would just automatically react to the situation. This is when the mind and body are in tuned. This only happens when you go above and beyond your normal practices. This is coming from a prior wtf tkd and hapkido master.

  • @TheMilimanatary1
    @TheMilimanatary1 8 років тому

    Look, I don't mean to knock these guys or demean what they're doing. But most real life knife fights or attacks or done with incredibly fast, unorthodox, wild slashing. If an opponent stabbed in a manner like what is shown here than what they are practicing could work well, as a concept. What has to be understood about knives though are it's much faster than you think. And most times the knife is never seen. Hopefully KM teaches this at the beginning stages. I applaud all these students. Just always question your instructors. If they don't want to be questioned than they're not there for you, just themselves.
